Short lifespan – Our second Westinghouse oven has just died on us after 5.5 years so I would recommend looking at other brands as they just don't seem to last. The first one we had elements replaced and when both the grill and clock failed at the same time we gave up and bought a new one. The second one needed an element replaced about 5 months ago at a cost of… Read more

over $220 and recently the fan began making a loud grinding noise. Today when I turned it on there was a very bright flash from the control panel and it seemed to short out. No confidence that costly repairs will give us a working oven for more than a few months. Would suggest looking at other brands.

problems galore now does not heat to max pre heating does not even work – Not happy with product not buying a Westinghouse in the future now does not work at all cant even cook chips! I also purchased the cook top and canopy nothing but trouble. The range hood lights keep blowing out and globes are so expensive. Westinghouse need to lift their game and produce better products. Buying another product that will last more than this. Don't buy Westinghouse.  Show details

Smoky and Broken clock – Oven loves to smoke and the timer/clock display broke after just 19 Months. Oven loves to heat up our kitchen which is alright in winter but summer makes it near unbearable. We need to replace our hotplates and range hood but definitely be getting a different brand and to anyone looking for a new appliance my advice is to stay away. As we live… Read more

in the country I will be interested to hear how Westinghouse remedy the situation without any out of pocket expenses for us

TOTAL FLOP! Can live without problems like this – We bought all Westinghouse appliances when we built our house a few years ago because we'd had a great run from our last Westinghouse oven (which was about 10-12 years old)......BIG mistake!! This new oven suffers all the same problems mentioned in above reviews...uneven cooking, smoking profusely, heat escaping etc

Uneven Heat and Smoky – I chose Westinghouse to replace my 20 year old Westingjouse oven, hot plates and range hood having had such good service. I like to cook and use my oven almost every day. After 18 months I still have no confidence in the oven cooking evenly. The oven has been checked out by an authorised Electrolux serviceman under Warranty who assured me that… Read more

the temperatures were correct but then said that he had the same model and it was known to heat higher in the back left corner so rotate the trays when cooking. Why should I have to do this when it is fan forced? It is also a very smoky oven when roasting. Open the door and you are engulfed by smoke. From other reviews it appears that these issues are common. Not a happy customer.

Uneven heat in the oven, then clock broke after 24 months – I've had this oven for a couple of years now and I've got to say that it's quite disappointing. The heat is quite uneven from the front to the back of the oven, even in fan mode, which means that you have to rotate dishes 180 degrees half way through cooking. It's also not an even heat top to bottom with the fan mode, which kind of defeats the… Read more

point of the mode.

Temperature regulation is a bit poor and I find that I have to use a thermometer to make sure that the oven is at the correct temperature.

The biggest pain is that the clock broke, going black, after 24 months as 3 weeks. I'm waiting to see what customer service say as an engineer told me that there is a design fault with this oven that leads to a capacitor in the clock burning out. Maybe they'll be decent and repair it, seing as it's a design fault?

Uses the term "Customer care" very liberally – The Purchase Bought the oven from Harvey Norman who said delivery would be delivered day after they received it in stock - it wasn't. It took another 5 days which was a problem as we told them we were going away. Customer Service They have an inbound call centre which is termed Customer care - however I haven't experienced any 'care' yet. It… Read more

has been non existent.

The oven was delivered in December with a misfitting control facia. We were told a few different dates from Westinghouse that it would be repaired. Now, 2 months later, we're told a date but they can't give a time. The repairman who will give me a call 1/2 an hour before arrival.Westinghouse want me to phone them after 9am to get an approximate time. They won't call me so they want me to take a day off work to wait for this guy. If it was 'Customer Care', they would phone me!

Cooking

I'm no Masterchef so it would have been a good to have more than a short paragraph on the function on each oven setting in the instruction manual. They've done the bare minimum in explanation so from a customer experience it's crap. It's been a trial and error to see what settings suit for basic cooking so very disappointing. Their recommended settings don't seem to be the best for the food described.

Controls

I think once once the facia is fixed it will be good. The controls are easily read and use.

Conclusion

I'm hoping that nothing else goes wrong with the oven because I'd hate to have to deal with Westinghouse/Electrolux again!

Oven cooks itself – The title says it all. The first time I cooked in this oven, there was so much smoke inside the oven that when I opened the door, the smoke actually set my smoke alarm off. And then I realised that the oven smoke/heat had burnt the floor of the oven. I do not understand how an oven can be of merchandisable quality if it burns its own walls and enamel.

Excellent oven with all the basic features – When my oven died I was very limited on the type of replacement as it was a wall oven with separate grill so the new oven needed to fit into the existing cut out. Having read the reviews on this model I was a little apprehensive but didn't have a lot of choice. I can happily report that the oven has been fantastic, I have baked cakes, roasted… Read more

veggies, cooked pizzas, lasagne and the oven has performed well. It is extremely easy to use and the multi function settings are suitable for the home cook. My only complaint would be the grill, when the grill tray heats up you need an oven glove or mitten to pull the tray out and this is a pain when you are constantly checking to make sure food doesn't burn. Overall this is a modern looking oven for a budget price and well worth considering. Quiet, efficient, performs well and reasonable price Grill tray need oven glove to remove when in use

Not happy with oven at all – My new westinghouse oven was a replacement by insurance fo previous Westinghouse oven that spring went through glass door shattering it.The insuranse replaced it as oven was in house when we brought it and the door was no longer available. My problem with my new oven is temperature.I cannot get cakes to rise evenly sometimes they don't rise at… Read more

all.I contacted the supplier and he said it must be my cake tins.Brought different tins same problem,he then said to make scones as they are a good guide they did not rise at all. I brought a thermomater and that shows the temperature is way out even after an hour does not reach right temperature.I commented to salesman that hot aircomes out of top of oven he said that is normal. He is very reluctant to get anyone out to check but I am so disappointed with oven.I have never had a problem cooking in any oven in the 43 years that I have been married but not in this oven.Would never recommend to anyone. I liked that it had a seperate Griller and larhe interior Temperature not working properly
