We had a lightening strike hit our house recently and when we went to use it the oven/grill indicator light is not working and the plastic cover(orange) had disappeared, we eventually found it on the other side of the kitchen. Can this light be fixed?

The timer dial isn't going back to the 'Timer Off' position. The oven won't turn on unless I set the timer. How do I get the dial back to the Timer off position?

Have the WVE613S modle & right from the beginning when purchased new in 2017 it has NEVER been able to cook any roast meat e.g. leg of lamb/chicken/pork through well done. Cooks all other not so solid things ok roast veg/cakes etc. I have to have the temp up on 200c to cook roasts & even then the meat is not cooked. e.g. 1.5kg leg of lamb last night cooked from 2.45pm to 5.45pm no lid on roasting dish as it would never cook!!! still not cooked!! Had techno guy out to check temps etc when still under warrenty, he said heating ok???? any suggestions, I am fed up with this oven & am looking to buy another brand. never westinghouse again! very disappointed as only purchased in 2017 help

Yes I have this oven since 2016 also and the oven timer has never worked. I reported it to the people whom I purchased the house with (thinking I did the right thing) and nothing was actioned. Eventually I contacted Westinghouse and they won't fix it as it's out of warranty. I've shown them documents dating back to me reporting the issue within warranty but they will not honour it or fix it unless I pay. They are a worthless money hungry company who produces crap products then don't take accountability for their errors. I will never purchase from them again either. Worthless.

my brother bought this oven for mum from Bunnings just after my Dad died in 2016. It was installed in the new kitchen about 6 months later and has been great, but a couple of days ago started making an awful noise as soon as it's turned on. It's definitely the fan hitting something. Once it's going (warmed up a bit?) the rattling/banging stops, but then it does it again briefly when the oven is switched off. No idea what the warranty period is but from all the other comments it sounds like it should be covered as a manufacturing/design problem.

This is a common problem with Westinghouse/Electrolux ovens, not just in Australia, but overseas too. I had the same problem but found an easy fix. My oven is a top-of-the-range Electrolux. The fan that distributes heat within the oven is surrounded by a heating element. It is at the back of the oven. The problem is caused by the element moving as it heats and cools, causing it to obstruct the fan, which strikes the element with the tips of the fan blade. It can be fixed in a few minutes. You need a screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

Open the oven (when cool) and remove the 2 screws at the top of the panel on the rear wall of the oven. Remove the panel and place aside. Use the pliers to gently bend the tips of the fan inwards, to provide more space so that it doesn't strike the heating element. Do all of the blades the same amount. Done!

Replace the panel and screws. Your troubles are over.

Timer has stopped working properly. There seems to be a link between the timer function and the use of the oven. The timer does not stay on to the position where it is turned to, the timer just turns back to near stop making a ringing sound as it winds back.

Fan was hitting the heating element and making noise, so have adjusted heating element. Now fan won't turn when oven on, despite motor sound at back. How do I get the fan to go again?

My oven has stopped heating after 3 years. I’ve replaced both elements but the problem remains. Anyone else have this problem and resolve it? It’s getting close to just buy a new one rather than spend more trying to fix this..

The front face of the oven is getting really hot to touch, I’ve had a look and can’t see any reason as to why it’s doing it. I know the cooling fan blows hot air out over the door, but the actual metal face is getting hot. Any ideas?

Does this oven normally blow heated air straight out around the front door? Contributes to a very hot area in a small kitchen area?

Is there any elemen heating from the bottom? It seems there is just one from the top. So how could we bake a cake? The heat shoud come from the bottom. There is just fan and top element

Mrs Fix It

There is an element at the top for the griller. There is an element in the back wall with the fan which circulates the heat to cook cake. Are you making a Christmas cake:)

I have just bought a house with this oven already in. It just turned off while in use for a few minutes. Now nothing will work. No sounds and timer not ticking. I’ve checked the house fuses and all fine. I have the manual but doesn’t help much for this model. Any suggestions

Hello,

Our fan has stopped working after 24 months use. We don’t know if it’s the motor or the fuse or the fan itself, has anyone had any issues around the fan not working altogether ?

Thanks
