Error F908 investigation. Westinghouse WVEP615 Wall OVEN. Displaying the Error Code: F908 It Looks Like, The F908 error code apparently can… Read more ·  1

appear on the OVEN Display if the Upper Grill Elements inside the Oven have gone sub standard due to a Low Internal Resistance to Earth, even though the Oven was working properly the day before. It looks like High Humidity Weather events can affect the moment that the error code appears. Currently Feb/March 2026 is a High Humidity time on the East Coast Of Australia.

You would Normally expect to see an Insulation Resistance of over 20Meg ohms between the Element Conductor to Earth measured with a Multimeter, but if moisture/condensation has been absorbed into the Element the Loss between the Active and Earth can fall to under 500k Ohms, causing the OVC3000 Power Board to suddenly allow a display of the F908 error message and the Oven Can’t be Used at all.

Trying to Reset the Oven by Powering Down completely at the Circuit Breaker may work dependent on how much moisture is in the Element at that particular time. In my case the Fault disappeared when the Oven was completely removed from the Wall Cabinet and put on Test on a Sunny Verandah. The Insulation Resistance on the Faulty Oven Elements measured between the Active of the Element and Earth varied dramatically from less the 130k ohms to over 15Meg ohms. Fault Testing Revealed that the Element acts like an Electrolytic Capacitor and actually showed a Capacitance value of 0.87nF and 1.71nF when faulty, -ve Multimeter Meter Lead on Earth when faulty and the Insulation Resistance is dependant on the way your Test leads are connected as the Element has become polarity sensitive. (Faulty 130k Ohms and 1.2Meg ohms)

This Particular Westinghouse oven is Using the Power Board: OVC3000 to a HEXAGON TT Display Board. This OVC3000 board is used in numerous brands of ovens as discovered in researching this error code.

The OVC3000 board is Listed on the Internet at various places for $300 - $400 so I checked mine over pretty well and decided that it wasn’t the Fault. The Error code was being raised because of something external to the board. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The F908 Display Code is Listed in an “Electrolux OVC3000 Manual” as: Description. F908 Communication alarm: If there is a problem of communication between OUI and OC after 10 attempts to connect the message of alarm appears. If Communication is ok again the failure is automatically reset. F908 is only shown if oven is switches on . ????????????? (What is this saying, ELECTROLUX ???)

TROUBLESHOOTING. (1) Wiring connection between user interface (OUI) and the power board (OC) (2) Wiring connection between Sidekick connector and Power board (OC) (*) (3) User Interface (OUI) fault. (4) Power board (OC) fault. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Testing Results. 0.9nF + 1.6nF at 09:37am 0.4Meg ohm + 80kohm at 09:37am

0.89nF + 1.9nF at 12:06pm 0.6Meg ohm + 89kohm at 12:06pm

0.89nF + 1.64nF at 2pm 32Deg C Outside Temp 49% Humidity 1.14Meg ohm + (30k ohm – 350k ohm Varying to 0.5Meg Ohms) at 2pm, 32Deg C Outside Temp, 49% Humidity.

Final Result, NEW ELEMENTS Required but I ended up replacing the OVEN completely because of it’s age 10years old.

Follow-up  · In answer to the Questions, No other Parts seem to be affected by the unusual HUMIDITY at this time that got into the Top Elements, it looks like the Humidity and age caused the Loss of Insulation resistance in the Top Elements. Wiring inside the Oven was still in Perfect order both visually and when tested electrically. Access to all Parts was… Read more

Has Continually thrown an F908 error. Which means it won’t function. To do with not reading circuit. It Happens so often the the oven is completely unreliable. So upset as this was an expensive oven and I thought this was a reliable brand. Don’t trust Westinghouse!

Purchased brand new and immediately had a fault – I've been doing renovations for my house for two years so my tolerance isn't as it normally is. I was therefore really frustrated having purchased a brand new oven, and having it installed last week to have a fault within 24hrs that has rendered the product useless. https://youtu.be/jsM-h722g90 I know I could of gone through a repair process, … Read more

but given my tolerance was at an all time low, I simply had it uninstaller and returned to the store for a full refund and purchase another make

I saw there were a few comments about similar faults, and while repair would of been cheaper, my confidence in the product was less firstly after my experience, but then also reading the same fault.

I really wanted to support Australian brands, for no other reason than our manufacturing production is really low. But that any out the way when it came to my own experiences.

I solemnly hope they tweak these issues as I'm certain the Westinghouse brand could be really good with the right QA and fault management process in place.

Worked mostly ok, but has recently developed a problem – The door won't close fully - remains slightly ajar causing heat to escape and the light to remain on. Can temporarily be cured by open and closing forcefully, but problem ultimately remains. There is no obvious adjustment mechanism on the hinges to correct for this. Haven't tried the self cleaning mode mode yet. Temperature seems to run a bit… Read more

lower than indicated as well.

Update 4/4/21- Replaced the hinges - they seem to have been redesigned, so this is possibly a known problem? Door stays shut now. Placed an oven thermometer in and the temperature is lower than indicated most of the time, so adjust accordingly.

Persistent Electrical Fault – Installed this oven in Nov 16, by Oct 17 it had an electrical fault. This was fixed under warranty. In Dec 17 the fault reoccurred and, after an intervention by Harvey Norman, all the electrics were replaced. In Dec 2018 the same fault occurred again and this time fixed under the repair warranty as it was 53 weeks old. And now 13 months on the… Read more

same fault has occurred again. I spoke to Westinghouse customer service this afternoon to explain that in 3 years we had had the same fault 4 times. They were extremely rude and said their "hands were tied" because it was so far out of warranty, when in fact it is only 13 months since the fault was last fixed and it is the same fault that keeps reoccuring This is a $1200 oven that is not able to work for more than 12 months at a time without repair and Westinghouse are happy to hide behind the fact that the repairs last just over the warranty time.

Worst Purchase Ever! – We loved this oven at first, cooking was even and tailored settings were great! Then after 2 years the door stopped closing properly and we had to prop closed the door to even reach temperature. It seems the door is too heavy for the cheap brackets they’ve used. Third time we’ve fixed it in a year. Then the fan began making a horrible sound and… Read more

needed fixing. Add in the burning smell from the pyro clean being pushed out the front fan can’t say I’d recommend especially after having a cheap Chef brand oven for over 10 years with no issues. Thought we’d slash out and get quality but it’s just a horrible design and will never by Westinghouse again.

Reliable however has some issues – The features and design is very nice and useful. Food is generally cooked well. My only complaints are that after a while the door stopped closing fully by itself and I had to wedge it shut. If I don’t wedge it shut it takes longer to heat up and I can feel heat escaping into my kitchen  Show details

Love this oven – We did a lot of research before deciding on the Westinghouse WVEP615S. We wanted two 600mm ovens with plenty of internal capacity and flexibility. We were not disappointed. Food is cooked beautifully! It has 10 settings that allows you to get excellent results. We love the pizza setting and rapid heat. I have used the pyrolitic setting once… Read more ·  1

so far. You do have to make sure that ALL the shelf racks are removed and ALWAYS wipe down the interior of the glass door and any large greasy spills BEFORE commencing. I didn’t and found that the grease on the glass got burnt on. It took ages to get that off! I now wipe the glass after every use..easy. Ventilate the room too as you can get some smells during the cleaning process. The control panel is very user friendly and the timer easy to use. Overall we are very happy.

Good oven and does the iob – Good price and working fine. However I find the baking function not as good as my mother-in-law’s Eletronux. Many types of cooking avaibaleb, good for family use. Find it hard to clean, and it takes a while to cool down after use, but I guess it is common. Would recommend this  Show details

Brand new – This oven has only been installed, in an oven tower, a few weeks ago. All part of extensive renovations. Honestly, so far I have only used it twice to heat pies. I just used the 'pizza' setting. This seemed to work. I have to use it from the side because I cannot reach in from the front. The door is quite deep. I just wanted to thank others… Read more

Full featured. Thermostat seems low – Typically, recipes suggest a lower cooking temperature for a fan-forced oven. We've found those temperatures too low. It may have something to do with the thermostat setting. We're not fussed. We simply continue to use regular recommended temperatures. Other than that, it cooks very evenly throughout the oven. We can cook bread rolls on all three racks at the same time, no problem  Show details

Can't fault it – Had no issues with this oven, expect it took us a little while to get used to the different nobs then we are used to. Enjoy cooking in the oven. Love the heat proof door- so no burning fingers (and my lab sits right up against the door so she is lucky we got it 2). Easy to clean with the pyro function though it takes a long time. Cooling down once… Read more

turned off does take a while but I guess we only notice it because it tells you it's still cooling. I'm pleased with the purchase. Also looks great in our kitchen!
