Where do I start, didn't even work, out of the box. Keeps shorting out the power. So my electrician removed the oven then Westinghouse Warranty sent out a technician, said that the top panel is most likely shorting out on the fan terminal because poor design and it's not insulated. Then the technician wouldn't re fit the oven and I had to pay another $300 to get someone out for a 5 minute job.
So it has worked for the last couple of months. Now it is shorting out again. Waiting for a technican to come out. It was intermittent at the start, and the whole oven rattles alot.
The trim keeps popping off and not staying. See photo. The glass almost fell out because I couldn't open the oven door because the trim popped out and was getting stuck.
There is also a annoying white dot inside the LCD Screen.
I've had enough and want it replaced.
A technician came out to look at it. He had said there are multiple issues with this oven, better to replace it.
Then a couple weeks later, Westinghouse sent out another technician because they didn't get the report from the first one.
3 weeks in and still don't have a working oven >.<.
Purchased in at The Good Guys.
THE GOOD Cooks Evenly and Beautifully of course, It's Gas! It looks good THE BAD When finger prints appear round control dials/knobs, then it looks bad. Clock light is insanely bright, very horrible much too bright at night and wakes you up so you can't get back to sleep, There is no way to turn off or dim the overly bright LED clock light, It is the awful bright white with almost blue white in the LED's that prevent sleep. Have to re set the clock each time the power goes off. Very annoying no battery back up for the clock.
THE NOISE - Shelves screech, grind and horrible scraping noise when shelves get pull out and pushed back in again, very irritating noise like nails scraping down a black chalk board.
THE EXTERNAL HEAT Front stainless panel where controls are gets too hot to touch after cooking a simple chicken on 180C for 90 minutes. Hot air comes out of the top of the door, heats the whole kitchen up. Not ideal in Australian kitchen ! It's hot enough in Western Australia and puts you off cooking indoors in the spring and summer.
Nasty cheep feeling .... It's just not smooth, it feels cheap and clutty with clattering chrome colour wire rack for the grill, there is no longer a nice quality enamel grill tray.
THE SAD I had a gorgeous white glass front Westinghouse gas oven, and sadly had to have it replaced, with this stainless steel colored model. No comparison in looks. White is much better. I can't understand why they made the white oven obsolete it was much nicer.
THE VERY BAD Impossible or very difficult at the least to see the text or printed Icons properly around the controls without a torch. It is black text print on stainless steel colour background. It's just dumb. Badly designed and very inconvenient to have to keep a torch handy each time you use the oven, or until you remember the position of each function. I have both normal lighting in my kitchen as well as a nice big skylight. I dont like it for all these reasons, I would never have a Westinghouse oven again. I definitely would never recommend it, they all look the same especially with seeing the print- text - icons on the controls.
