Not a great purchase – Unfortunately this dryer has been an ongoing disappointment. My main gripes are: - It cannot handle large items and never dries them thoroughly. Occasionally dries standard sized clothes properly but only you if you set it to extra dry function, or re-run cycles - Water will often leak from the front vent, and the internal filter is flimsy and… Read more

difficult to clean (as is the cavity it sits within) - 4 years old and it already needs a new drive belt Overall I do not recommend this product

Fooled me hah-hah-haaaaaarrr… – Wasnt offered reward for review but compensation or refund I’ll gladly accept I had a look at only a few reviews and unfortunately didn’t have any way of relating to and understanding some of them. But oh, I certainly do now. I regret buying this dryer. My experience- first up, destroys clothes. Anything with a draw string can catch between… Read more

filter and door and twist…. And twist…. Until it breaks. Can happen with buttons that stick out, bra straps …. You get the picture. Second…dries like a, well really bad dryer. Takes forever, auto settings just don’t work. I have to use manual timer for 2.5 hrs and above. Third, the internal filter is a stupid design for something that needs cleaning regularly. Can’t get in there to do a decent job.

LEAKS & IS NOW RUSTING! – I purchased the Whirlpool 6th Sense 7.5kg Front Loader a couple of years ago from The Good Guys on their recommendation. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the winner it was sold to be. It didn’t take long until I found puddles of water constantly in front if the machine. I cleaned the seals, the tray etc trying to troubleshoot the issue however it… Read more

wasn’t until I had to sit in front of the machine and watch the cycle that I realised that water was flooding from the drawer several times throughout the cycle. I have also noticed that despite the machine being only 2 years old, significant rust is showing through at the front of the machine. I paid over $1,200 for a machine to last 2 years and cause nothing but hassles. A call to consumer affairs is clearly necessary. Frustrated beyond belief that this product is such poor quality!

Poor Design of Sensors – Spent a fair bit of money buying this as thought it would be excellent and uses little power. I want to like it. But sadly, it does stop drying cycle to early for clothes to be dry and lower second filter is crap. Bummer. Show details

Love the Condenser Dryer – I had been wanting a dryer for a couple of years now and finally my husband purchased one through Appliances Online. I'd honestly never heard of a condenser dryer before so was hesitant to use it at first. Like any dryer there are items you don't put in (like husbands King Gee work pants!) however it is very handy for wet weather and drying… Read more

sheets, towels etc. We mainly use it for big items during winter on the weekend:- sheets, towels etc when I need to get it done quickly and back to wrangling kids. Emptying the water part is super easy and cleaning the lint filter after each use is a breeze. Have used a few of the different settings easily. Great size, clothes and other items dry well. All in all very happy with the Whirlpool.

Very Disappointing – The dryer needed mechanical attention 3 times whilst under warranty. Now it's out of warranty, 2 years, 8 months old, and doesn't work at all. I'm throwing it out. I couldn't possibly onsell it with a clear conscious. Show details

Possibly dangerous. Avoid – We bought one of these second hand and immediately ran into the "clogged lower filter" issue. After taking it apart to clean the condenser, we saw that a wire had partially burnt through one of the tubes from the compressor which carries compressed gas. When we moved the burnt wire, gas started leaking. I don't know what sort of coolant these use… Read more

or whether it's flammable, but there was still burnt wiring. Given this and the seriously horrible design of the condensing system, and how quickly it gets clogged with lint, avoid getting these even second hand.

Single mum heart broken – This was the biggest amount of money I have ever spent other than on a car. It is horrible. Stops cycle whilst still dripping wet, alarms when filters etc are clean. Took it back got another one and it’s exactly the same. I am so so devastated. If I’d had more time I would have read the reviews and not got it. Please don’t, one might be broken but two wouldn’t be, it is a faulty machine! Show details

Please don’t waste your money! – I bought this machine (for a lot of money in my opinion) because I thought it would save time, money and the environment....I was wrong! This is quite frankly the worst tumble dryer I have ever owned. It will not dry my clothes no matter what I do. The sensors just don’t seem to operate properly. The machine stops drying when things are either wet… Read more

or damp. I now have to use the manual drying program but even this is useless due to the bottom filter issue. The bottom filter doesn’t operate properly. It constantly needs cleaning when it’s not even dirty. I clean it, put it back in and I still get the ‘clean bottom filter’ warning. I have turned it off at the wall and googled how to reset it etc....Nothing works. So the dryer can be set up, left running but when you return a couple of hours later it’s shut itself off and all of the washing is a damp crumpled mess. Is this due to the filter? The machine is awful with large items. My duvet covers just tumble into a tight ball no matter which program I use. It seems to put creases into things! I have experimented endlessly and there is no program capable of producing dry crease free cotton shirts! I give up! I can’t sell the machine on because I wouldn’t wish this on anyone! Please do not buy this machine. The hotpoint/whirlpool group have a lot to answer for. I bought this as a replacement for one of the dangerous hotpoint machines.....What a huge mistake. My faith in this company is ruined.

A dryer that doesn't dry – The clothes are always left damp, even on "extra dry" setting. It often takes 2 or 3 attempts (2 hours or more each) to get the clothing dry. With sheets, forget it. I hang them over furniture with fans on. The lower filter is also a huge pain, always getting clogged and difficult to get in there to clean it. Wish we'd bought a different dryer, such a waste of money. Show details

Big mistake. Waste of money and time – We were big dryer users with competitive swimmers and surfers and no clothes line. When our powers bills got out of control I looked towards a heat pump as supposedly more energy efficient. Frankly it is useless. Like other reviewers, it has never dried my clothes in one cycle which lasts for at least two hours. Things are still damp after running… Read more

for 4 hours! I have read instructions and tried all different settings. One day it took me 3 cycles trying to dry sheets that I ended up hanging over the pool fence to dry. That was after 7 hours in the dryer! Half the time I need to rewash the clothes because they have a damp smell to them. The sensors are obviously useless. Only positive is no humidity but not really helpful when your clothes are not dry. I am going to retailer to return. Don't waste your money.

Terrible – Decided to spend a bit of coin on a decent dryer that wouldn’t have the entire laundry condensed up. Supposedly good on power. I’m not sure if that is because it takes at least 2 hours to dry anything. Even on a quick setting it is rediculous. Thinks it knows when your clothes are dry but just stops when they’re still wet. Can’t seem to dry… Read more

anything in under an hour. And that could just be 1 item that is damp.

Would never buy another. And will see if the shop will take it back.

6th sense not worth 2 cents – We purchased the dryer Aug 2016 and had trouble with it almost straight away. The sensor never really worked and the clothes were still wet, so we ended up using the manual function to dry the clothes. Also sometimes various warning messages came up so the service person came out and replaced something. Then a few months ago it kept making a… Read more

knocking noise. (by the way the sensor still didn't work). It took them 3 weeks to look at it, so we didnt have a dryer for that time. They eventually determined that they could not fix it and offered a full refund. Happy that they offered a full refund but I didn't trust the brand so I went and purchased a Fisher & Paykel.

The reason I swapped brands was due to the time they took to fix it and during that time I was speaking to a overseas call centre. This was challenging due to their lack of authority to do anything as they were following set scripts. They would not give me the contact details for the person that makes the decisions or arrange for them to call me. With a new baby try living without a dryer for 3 weeks.

I also had a heart attack moment when I couldn't find a receipt. The overseas call centre made it clear to me that unless I could find the receipt I would have to pay for all the repairs. Fortunately we found the receipt and held onto it like gold. And the Good Guys were also kind enough the offer to reprint the receipt for me but didn't need it in the end.

This condensed Dryer is Perfect for me! – I am very happy with this Condensed Dryer as I bought it on sale at The Good Guys with the five year gold warranty. It is very easy to use and now it saves me lots of time of ironing clothes as it comes out wrinkled free as I’m constantly washing clothes for school boys. The machine is very lightweight as I just put it on the laundry bench with… Read more

the two of us lifting it in as I didn’t need to pay someone to install it as the hose goes inside the sink once the long tray is full. If you constantly empty the water tray and empty the lint every time you use it it will be fine. I haven’t had a Dryer for 17 years until I desperately needed it as I’m unwell with osteoporosis and can’t do much lifting as it will be great with anyone with any kind of back injuries! I recommend everyone to try this condensed dryer as it does a great job and very quiet as I put the alarm on the machine once it finishes. Thanks, Shirley Marjanovic

Not worth the price – Have had this dryer now for about 1 year - previously had a cheaper f & p one that done a great job. One our previous one gave up - we went to good guys to purchase a new f&p and were convinced by the sales guy to purchase this one instead. Big mistake! - it most often takes 2-3 restarts to get the clothes completely dry. It never gets the… Read more

sensors for clothing and dryness correct. The settings it offers are useless as they do not function as advertised.

I really wish I had spent the extra amount and purchase a top end dryer - my friend has an AEG which is absolutely brilliant and far more energy efficient.

Don’t waste your money on this whirlpool (which is now only exclusive to good guys therefore no pricing competition) - either get a cheaper one that just simply does the job or get a high end one that will last for ages and do a proper and efficient job.

Thought it was great until it broke MANY TIMES – We had a normal dryer and as our family grew so did our drying needs which we upgraded to the condenser dryer by Whirlpool, we noticed the clothes would take a lot longer to dry but got used to having dampish clothes, after a few sensor warranty call outs and endless error codes it finally gave in just after its 2 year warranty period ... $700+ for a dryer that doesn't dry only to break down just after 2 years is ridiculous Show details

Great product – Our old dryer was on it's way to the great dryer place in the sky, so it was time to purchase a new one. We first purchased a Heat Pump dryer, not a Whirlpool, and that was a disaster, it took 1/2 a day to dry a load of clothes. I returned that unit to the retailer, who told me that they had a lot of people unhappy with Heat Pump dryers, as they… Read more

definitely took ages to do their job. I then purchased the Whirlpool dryer, what a great decision, no more moisture vented into the room, no more lint getting through the filter, and no more either drying the clothes for too long a time or too short a time, this unit does that for you. The 6th sense, checks the weight of the clothes put into the dryer and then once you have selected the type of clothing in the dryer, it works out a drying time, no more, and no less. Saves power, gives me water in the receptacle to pour onto the potted plants and gathers all of the lint from the clothes into an easily accessible lint filter. I would recommend this Brand to anyone, I also have a 10 year old Whirlpool front load washing machine, it too is a great machine.

Easy to use and no humidity – I love this machine. I purchased it when looking for a dryer for a cupboard space. No need for ventilation. It takes large loads and i ever do my bedding. No water on the walls like the old one. Easy to take out the water tank and put the water on my potplants. Its great! Only down side is it isnt whisper quiet but not loud enough to worry about. I highly recommend for anyone with an internal laundry.  Show details
