Whirlpool 8kg 6th Sense Condenser Dryer DSCR80320 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 36370931 and DSCR80320I bought a Whirlpool 6th sense dryer (8 kg) 14 months ago. Despite regular cleaning of the filters and emptying the reservoir, we noticed that when we set the timer to, for example, 120 min, it jumps back to 30 min. In addition a red light flashes close to the program panel, and the drying power of the machine is reduced. We tried to contact the maintenance dept at Whirhpol in Jeddah, it was impossible to get through Please advise? Thank you Dr Ahmed El Rass
Hello Dr Ahmed, I sincerely wish I could help. It's not an issue I have experienced so unfortunately I have no insight.
This dryer does not DRY clothes! Regardless of the dryness level selected, the ONLY Way to get dry clothes is to run it to time for 2.5 hours. Defeats the purpose of an economical dryer. Why is this dryer like this? Most people have this issue!
I would like to get some answers from whirlpool! Why is this machine like this? Why doesn’t it dry clothes! You have multiple negative reviews but you continue to sell this machine and offer no resolution! Is there a setting we’re all missing? Has anyone resolved the issue of the sensor turning it off every 10 minutes!??
No solution, it's a very poorly designed machine. I would get rid of it ASAP. They fill with lint, and in ours a wire had burned through a compressor hose, so they can be dangerous as well as a frustrating and useless waste of money and materials. If you really want to keep it, you can try tearing it down and cleaning it out. There is / was a video on YouTube of a man from Romania (I think) doing this to get it running again. You have to really take it apart to get to the condenser, which will be where the error code is coming from. Other condenser dryers usually have user-accessible condensers for cleaning. Not this one, it was made to be used for a small amount of time and then thrown away.
Hi Robert, The sensor turning the dryer off every 10 minutes could indicate a fault with the machine. It would be best to contact Arisit Warranties at arisit.warranties@arisit.com and lodge a service call to get a technician to have a look at that. Just send through proof of purchase in the email along with a description of the fault. Regards
When switch power on display F6 I can't use it what can I do?
I used to turn the dryer off and waited a few minutes then tried it again. It worked for a while doing that. Ultimately as the dryer was still under warranty they tried to fix it. They couldnt so I go a full refund
The sensor stops the dryer before the clothes are cupboard dry despite the selection of cupboard dry option. There is always a residual dampness despite settings chosen, filter cleanliness and whether there is water in the tank or not. How can we get our clothes dry?
I have the same problem biggest load of crap of a dryer I have ever bought. Sticking to Bosch next time around.
Absolutely crap dryer. I brought this 2016 I think. Never dries clothes properly constantly wants the bottom filter cleaned. What a pain so sick of it I eventually went out and brought a different dryer absolute heaven since. I got no response either from whirlpool when I complained. That stupid bottom filter was €25 to replace ! Will never buy whirlpool again in anything. This clearly was a design fault in an expensive dryer.
I absolutely agree. It is the worse dryer we have ever owned. Fortunately. we have moved and could incorporate a vented dryer. We now have a large Maytag vented dryer. Large drum means less tangled clothes. Yes, the power rating is far greater than the Whirlpool, but it dries properly in a tenth of the time (back of the envelope calculation....uses same or less electricity to dry a load). And we spend less time. The Whirlpool would be running for 3 to 4 hours to get through the day's washing and still would not be cupboard dry. Now the drying is done in 30-45 minutes.
