Withings BPM Connect

Garbage. Stopped working. Only used 3 times – Garbage device. Initially I thought it was great. I used it on 3 occasions on myself and my husband and it worked fine - it inflated and took readings and I could assign them to each of us in the app. I did travel and carefully put the device (in it's box) in a carry on case along with other items and carefully in the overhead. I then had the… Read more
device sitting in the bathroom cupboard and went to use it when I was having some health issues to check my blood pressure and it would not work. It was 100% charged and showed 100% on the display. It had stopped working and I could get nothing else on the screen when pressing the button. I contacted Withings for support and had multiple chats and emails and sent them a video. Withings said it's a hardware problem. As it was outside the warranty Withings offered me a 25% discount to buy another one of their crap BPM Connects - from the US no less, and I would have to pay for postage from the US. I don't want to waste my money on another crap device thanks and certainly not from the US! I'm glad that I only paid $99 for it on sale at JBHifi. Throwing it in the bin!
I've also seen multiple reviews on multiple websites saying that it's not accurate too.
TO UNRELIABLE FOR ME – I paid $178.00 for this at JB HI FI at the beginning of 2023. My machine always come up high at the fist take like 200/190.Then I try to take it again and it comes up er. I need an accurate blood pressure monitor as I have broken my leg and ankle to to a blood pressure drop resulting in two surgeries. and 4 month hospital stay. I am sorry but this one is not for me. Good device but the software lets it down – I bought this after being diagnosed with hypertension, and despite some of the reviews on this page I can attest to its accuracy. I was put on a 24 hour blood pressure monitor, and took comparison readings with the Withings BPM, and my cardiologist said that the accuracy was good enough that he expected not to need to put me on another 24 hour… Read more
monitor in the future. I've also had numerous checks with my GP and they are also comfortable that the accuracy is sound. I do think how it is fitted plays a part in its accuracy.
What I am disappointed with though, is the user interface. Withings pushed an update a few months ago that totally contradicts itself. When you turn the unit on, a long press of the button changes the setting, and a short press of the button selects the shown option. Now, after the test is complete, a short press is needed to cycle through the list of users, and a long press selects the highlighted option. Who on earth thought that was a good idea? It's infuriating.
The graphing of the readings within the Android app is rather basic, but I've found that accessing my account from a desktop browser produces an excellent graph, and I've also found the "doctor report" to be very basic.
Use as a guide only with this unit – While the manufacturer makes claims the unit is tested by some originastion the unit always reads too high compared to more accurate units. When I first got it I ended up going to my doctor because I was worried my blood pressure was much higher than normal but turns out its the machine that is reading high. Not only makes people worried but… Read more
also the added cost to see a doctor. I now only use my older machine that is fully certified by the right groups that certify such things and it's now a waste of money. I guess if you work out how much it reads over you could then use it knowing to compensate for the higher reading but then you should not have to do that with such an important health device.
Wrong pressure readings – I was using this for about 4 months, and it was giving me very high readings. I was surprised that the readings taken at the clinic were far lower. Caused me a lot of anguish because of the high readings! Show details
Worked fine, for 12 months then won't pressure up – Purchased this just over 12 months ago and worked flawlessly, then it started failing to pressure up fully giving the error code 301 which is "failing to fully inflate". This, of course makes the unit utterly useless and of course it's just out of warranty. There are plenty of posts on the net with regard to this issue and Withings support not… Read more
very supporting apart from parroting the "troubleshooting" guide which as many have attested, solves nothing. So, if you want an expensive arm adornment that serves no purpose then go for it, if on the other hand you need a BPM that actually does what it's supposed to do the choose another brand. Google: withings BPM connect error 301.
Been using for months. Good until now – Bought this bout 8 months ago. Since at least 2 months ago I have been using it daily in the morning. So far it has been quite accurate. Or at least not far off at all. Have to follow fully the instructions on how to use it correctly. Velcro it in an angled manner if needed, so all the inner part is in full contact with arm as possible. I know… Read more
that its trustable because it has been consistent with my doctor's reading. For some of the medical condition I have. I have been relying on its reading and my doctors have been looking at my app record for references as well.
Velcro have been working just as it should. Despite reading reviews that it gives way early on.
Its very easy to select the modes of measuring and user to put the readings to.
Can easily do it in the dark too as reading can be seen in the dark.
No issues with device sending data to app via wi fi as long as battery does not run low. I just needed to charge it if it does not seems to send data across.
Easy to set up, no additional apps needed other than healthmate.
Dangerous piece of garbage – I bought this (expensive) device to help my GP manage my blood pressure. I thought it safer to make sure it works by taking it along to the surgery and comparing results with his proper sphygmomanometer. His reading ( checked 3 times ) : 150/905 This machine: 120/75 This level of inaccuracy is DANGEROUS. Do not buy this product. ( To add insult to injury, JBhifi didn't care that Toll took a full week to deliver it a few km. )
