Main component white refined sugar – As confirmed by Wombaroo Passwell - The main ingredient in this product is identified on packet is "Sucrose" which as confirmed by Wombaroo Passwell is - "Chemically, white (or refined) sugar is identical to sucrose (it is simply raw sugar with some of the coloured impurities removed), and lorikeets have no problems digesting this as a source of energy. Hence we use it as a major component in our diets, and have done so for many years without any adverse health effects on the birds." I do know Lorikeets love sugar. I now know why my Lorikeets have been so keen to eat what is confirmed is largely (relatively cheap) refined white sugar. I acknowledge that I am not a qualified vet. However I will NOT be continuing to feed my Lorikeets on a Passwell largely refined white sugar diet.
