XU1 Bunnings Sander – Shitbox sander. The motor wouldn’t turn after about 5-10 minutes of using it. Sounds like a bearing burnt out. It’s toast anyway. I Returned it right after first use. Obviously Makita is what you want
Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $54.95.
Ok for very light work – To the first reviewer, Kelly. You need to adjust the tracking, or all belts will. While I was practising with it, on a previously sanded piece of wood with a fine belt, it worked ok. The dust bag filled up and it did the job. But when you actually put it to work, HashK, yep, it clogs. With 40 grit on varnished floorboards it lasts about 30 seconds before it clogs. I don't know if the fan isn't powerful enough, or the exhaust vent is badly designed. I spent most of the time I used it cleaning it out, and returned it to Bunnings the same afternoon.

don’t waste your money – Borrowed one of these from a friend. The sanding belt drifted sideways into the machine and got stuck, which stalled the motor. After finally removing (and ruining) the sanding belt, I put a new one in and the same thing happened. Will give my friend the money he paid fornit and buy a better brand myself

Cheap But Crappy – XU1 electric belt sander, XBS-800, was about A$19 cheaper than the next more expensive. So I bought this unit because I only wanted to sand down a small deck area. So I thought I didn't need an expensive premium sander. I had a few problems when using it. First, the dust extraction wasn't extracting dust. The dust ended up in the crevices of the sand, in between the sanding belt and the roller & the bottom metal place. This was where the problems started: the dust formed vulcanized lumps sticking to the roller, the belts and the metal plate. I could feel the sander bumping on my deck causing gouged marks. It ruined the deck. I expended 4 40-grit sanding belts for covering less than 2 sqm area.
The other problem was that the operating manual and the actual sander are complete the opposite, the instruction's numbers are not in the given diagrams, leaving much to imagination.
I sent it back to Bunnings just one day I purchased it and after 2 sqm of sanding.
