Yates Success Ultra Insect Control 200ml Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi, I mixed Yates Success into a spray bottle with water about 18 months ago. I only used it to get rid of the bugs in my veggie garden. I believe that using Success will kill bees which I am not happy about and have since resorted to environmentally friendly sprays. Can I dispose of what I have mixed down the toilet since, from what I have read, it would have broken down and no longer effective.
Hi John We don’t recommend disposing of any insecticide solution down the toilet or household drains, even if it’s old or diluted, as it can still affect waterways and aquatic life. For small leftover amounts, the safest option is to apply the diluted mix to bare soil in your garden, well away from drains, ponds and flowering plants. If you have a larger volume, local council chemical clean out programs are the best option. These methods are safe and label compliant for disposal of small quantities.

I bought my Success ultra several yrs ago. Its DOM is 6/22. I cannot find a use by date on the container. Will it still be viable? It’s been stored in a cool dark place.
Hello Mary, The majority of our products do not have specific expiry dates. As long as they have been stored in the closed, original container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, our products will remain effective for at least 2 years after the Date of Manufacture (see DOM printed on the packaging). Over time, product effectiveness may become slightly reduced. Regards, The Yates Team.
Can you use this product to control white fly on fig tree?
Hello Vincent, Unfortunately Success Ultra is not registered for the control of whitefly. For the control of whiteflies on your fig tree we recommend the following product: ‘Yates Nature’s Way Vegie & Herb Spray’. It's certified for use in organic gardens and there's no withholding period, so you can spray and eat the same day! It's available in a ready-to-use or concentrate bottle.

Can I use Success on spidermite infestations on bromeliads without harming the plants or welcome insects
Hello Colleen, Thank you for contacting Yates. Success Ultra is not registered for the control of mites. For the control of spider mites, we recommend the following product for use on your plants:
‘Yates Nature’s Way Vegie & Herb Spray’. It's certified for use in organic gardens and there's no withholding period, so you can spray and eat the same day! It's available in a ready-to-use or concentrate bottle.

As some types of bromeliad can be considered delicate, we would advise to use this on a small section of plant first and monitor for any signs of damage to your plants.

Thank you for your advice, greatly appreciated!
I used the product on my apple tree for coddling moth and I still have coddling moth. I couldn’t find any instructions for repeat use so I’m guessing I should have used it again. Can anyone recommend an interval for reusing the product as I have found none? Also at what point I should have started to spray, please, for example at what stage of fruit formation?
Hi Catherine, You can repeat spray every 7-14 days when the pests are active. Make sure you spray the top and bottom of the leaves until the product drips off. There is more information and great tips in the article to help you try to eradicate this tricky pest. external link I hope this helps, Michelle Yates Horticulturist
Does it do white fly
Hi, No White Fly is not listed as a treated pest on the Success Ultra label. I suggest using either Try 'Yates Baythroid Advanced Garden Pest Insect Killer'- a broad-spectrum insecticide that controls Whiteflies and more! Suitable for use on on ornamental plants and vegetables. Click here for more info on this product: external link or ‘Yates Nature’s Way Vegie & Herb Spray’.
