Best Weedkillers & Garden Pest Control Products
Wow, worked a great! – Not sure what other people are doing when they say this doesnt work. I did 1 application and within a week my winter grass was dead, with my lawn unaffected. Definitely recommend this product. Show details
Useless – Doesn't kill anything, simply burns the broader leaves which quickly recover. Show details
Excellent – I used this for citrus leaf miner and caterpillars destroying my plants. It’s working really well but repeat treatments are needed with all the wet weather. This stuff is well worth the money.

problems with ants digging nests between patio pavers at the back. I had tried granules with very limited success. I did a search and found the best way to get rid of ants is with Fipronil. I purchased David Grays AntexPro Nest Killer from Bunnings for $59.95 and sprayed front and back using a normal garden sprayer. Ant nests are gone and not an ant to be seen at back. Wish I had discovered this product years ago. Local pest control quote was for $425. I have kept the Bunnings Receipt.

means I can see the weeds that I've already sprayed (handy for large areas) & I'm not going over the same area twice, the pressure pack is low pressure and as a result reduces the amount of overspray, and lastly it works, I highly recommend this product, just check to make sure it's suitable for your lawn.
Very good vegetable spray – I purchased this product a week ago, and so far it has worked well to keep bug's and insects off my tomato bushes, and as l grow more vegetables, l will be using it on them as well

If fungus gnats are annoying you, use this stuff – I got some strawberry plants from Bunnings last year. They were riddled with fungus gnats and I have spent thousands of dollars trying to control and… Read more
get rid of them. I have 20 yellow sticky papers in my 1 bedroom unit (they are in the kitchen lounge area) that I changed every 2 weeks because both sides were covered in fungus gnats. I have a yellow sticky paper in every pot plant that gets changed every 2 weeks as well. I have fungus gnat sand on top of the potting mix in every pot. All these things do is reduce the numbers a little bit. The fungus gnats simply go to the bottom of the pots and lay their eggs in the exposed areas where the drain holes are in the pots.
I have spent more time on the suicide help line in the last 12 months than most people do in their entire lives, because of these insects. They are literally driving me insane. I sit down and they land on me, fly into my eyes, ears, up my nose. They land on my food, drink, computer and bed. They land on me as I'm washing up and cleaning them off me. They are in my pantry, cupboards and even in the oven. These insects are a menace and had me on the edge of killing myself. I was suicidal and my poor neighbours had to listen to me freaking out over these bugs on a daily basis. I am constantly apologising to them for the swearing and loud noises and these insects are a pest that needs eradicating. These are horrendous little creatures that should be wiped off the face of the planet.
After trying all the crap that everyone suggested, including liquid traps made from vinegar, sugar, water and a few drops of detergent, I found Fungus Gnat - Gnatnem online. I didn't know if they were going to work but anything had to be better than what I was going through. I ordered the small batch (25 million) and they arrived after 4 days. I watered all my plants first and then made up one third of the nematodes and let them soak in water for 30 minutes. I then put them in my watering can and poured some over each pot. I put about 5-10mm of solution (water and worms) on the surface of each pot and let it soak in. I did that in the evening and kept the plants out of sunlight for the next 24 hours. Then waited.
The fungus gnats continued to do my head in for the next week and then one day most of them were gone. I kept expecting them to turn up and odd batches did from time to time for another 4 or 5 days. Today, two and a half weeks later and there have been 4 in the house. They still set me off and I am over these insects. I lose it if I see one now and kill them on sight. But what a difference this stuff has made. I would wake up covered in them and they would be mating on the ceiling and walls. Now there are very few left. If they could make something like this for blowflies, I would be stoked because some scumbag around here is breeding blowies and they are doing my head in now.
If you have a fungus gnat problem, don't bother with the yellow sticky papers and fungus gnat sand, just get some of these nematodes and pour them all over your garden, lawn and pot plants. Then wait and let the worms rip the hell out of these horrible little flying insects. (I'm trying to keep this polite but fungus gnats are just bloody awful).
Brilliant – I bought Yates Path Weeder from Bunnings. One litre cost $34.93. Only 200mil per litre of water is all it takes making it reasonable value for money.… Read more
I use it for the weeds that never quit in between the pavers, amazing and annoying how a broadleaf can grow through a tiny crack…It kills weeds quickly. I also use it in the garden on the nutgrass ( not near plants). I have found it to be more efficient than others that I have tried.
Ant bait – Ants would not go anywhere near it total waste of money Show details
Yates Zero
Don’t waste your money on this garbage – This is so ineffective you’d have a better chance at killing weeds with spring water. I can’t believe how awfully [Content Removed] this product is. It may as well have made the weeds bigger. I bought a 2-pack so now I’m stuck with double the waste.

to my roses three times, and the aphids have come back worse than ever. They are thriving on the stuff, which is not doubt composed of Manuka Honey and all the other "yummies" so loved by our New Agers. Maybe the aim is to focus their attention on the product, rather upon the tender shoots upon which they have piled themselves. That is being kind, though. Used to use White Oil but seems to be out of stock at the moment where I live. One star for not killing ladybirds, though sadly they seem to have now disappeared.

ever purchased.
As requested, I sent Pestrol a product review straight after I water-tested the sprayer. My review focused on Pestrol’s marketing image not satisfactorily showing the highly opaque nature of the 5L container and also the spray nozzle mechanism shifting the spray pattern from fine mist to jet stream at the slightest adjustment. The photo attached to this review shows the sprayer with 3.5L of liquid in the container, not that you could tell without removing the major filler handle. My review was not published on the Pestrol website.
Yet worse was to come. Before actually using the sprayer for the first time with herbicide, I discovered the plastic side filler cap had cracked while just sitting in the garden shed. With the cap heavily taped, I managed to pressurise the container. Whilst using the sprayer, the plastic sheath that secures the lance to the end of the trigger mechanism cracked and the imbedded plastic joiner connecting the other end of the trigger mechanism to the tube also snapped, rendering the sprayer useless. The broken components are shown in the attached photo, as is the meagre lance extended to its full 40cm length.
My message is — be wary of purchasing this particular Electric Sprayer and maybe other Pestrol branded spray products.

Rapidly killed all the grass (kings pride buffalo) and the clover came straight back healthy as ever!! Absolutely decimated our grass and did nothing to the clover. Not recommended unless you just want to kill your lawn.
Beautiful luscious weeds – This product is mislabelled. It is not a weed kill but a weed fertiliser. Many shops are selling it at half price. Even for this price don’t buy. I have sprayed weeds twice in two weeks and they are looking great. Show details

tried various techniques (sticky traps, minimal watering, re-potting, cinnamon powder etc. to no avail). So I tried Yates Fungus Gnat Barrier. As far as I can tell it appears to have done nothing. The sandy particles are easily displaced if you top water your plant or if you disturb the soil thereby allowing the adults access to the potting mix. Also the fungus gnats seem to inhabit the bottom of the pot as well. The product is quite expensive so I wouldn’t recommend it. Sadly I haven’t found a solution to this problem, yet!
