Works exactly as described but make sure you know what you’re buying – I’ve been using this for a couple of months. I wanted an air conditioner that didn’t need open windows as I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping with my windows open. I also wanted something portable that I could use in my study while WFH. This really only works for one person or two people sitting side by side (or sleeping side by side). Even on the coolest setting (17 degrees) it’s not really cold like a typical air conditioner but it does make me feel cool and comfortable even if it’s a 35 degree day and very humid. It has to be very close to you, ideally around a metre away. I find it’s way quieter than my old fashioned air conditioner but the noise level is probably similar to a fan or split system. I leave it on all night on hot nights and it’s kept me comfortable. You don’t wake up feeling dry like typical air conditioners. I have my windows closed but my door open and it works well. It’s heavy and the shape and height of it makes it hard to move. My place is small so I can roll it around but I wouldn’t want to be carrying it up steps or moving it frequently over long distances. It has also left dents in my hardwood floors from where I have rolled it around. I will be rolling it on a yoga mat from now. The machine is not stylish, especially when the vents are open but that doesn’t bother me. If you have realistic expectations and this suits your needs, it’s really worth considering.
