Absolutely stunning machine! – After years of promising myself, I finally bought an Electra micro casa leva espresso machine. I now wish I had bought one earlier. It is a work of… Read more

art: A simply stunning machine. I knew from the online photos that it looked good, but not until I unpacked it and got to see it up close, did I realise just how beautiful this machine is. As for the quality of the espresso: absolutely fantastic. It makes one of the best espressos I've ever had. Never bitter or acidic and no unpleasant aftertaste that can be common if the water is too hot or pressure too high.

It does take a bit of getting used to, in learning how slowly to pull the handle down and how long to keep it held down. You can only make 4 or 5 cups before needing to refill. It can take time to heat up and achieve the right level of pressure, so if you're like me and are a late riser, straight out the door to rush to work, you won't have time to have a beautiful espresso every morning. Edit: I have since got into the routine of setting the machine up the night before and switching it on first thing when I get up. I then have time for a cuppa just before leaving the house.

Price-wise, it's upper-middle bracket. I bought mine online from an Italian supplier, which saved me ~$700 from buying it from an Australian supplier. Delivery was quick and it was easy to set up. Being an overseas supplier I can imagine there being issues if I ever need repairs but fingers crossed I won't.

All up, I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to several years of great espresso.

Stunning looking - don’t be fooled by aesthetics – This is a fabulous looking machine - a conversation starter. The coffee wasn’t always consistent but grind and humidity played its part in that. It… Read more

started giving us trouble just out of warranty and continued until it died in its sixth year - a terminal case of boiler leak (hole in the boiler tube) which is unrepairable yet a known issue with these machines. Maybe 6 years is ok for a domestic machine - we didn’t think so due to the cost and upkeep involved. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Much prefer our replacement Isomac.
