I had used this filter for only one month and experienced extreme skin issues. While the customer service team was polite and offered me a refund, I… Read more

was disappointed they tried to blame my ‘decades-old pipes’ for the black carbon residue in the threaded joints of the metal housing and extreme itching skin irritation I experienced which left me with red marks. My building is less than 10 years old. The itchiness and thick waxy residue I had felt stopped the moment I removed the filter, proving it was a compatibility issue with soft water (53.8mg/L), not my plumbing. For reference, according to Sydney Water, any concentration below 60 mg/L is classified as soft water. Adding swiss minerals to water that is already soft can cause a waxy or slimy film because the minerals don’t rinse away properly, which led to the skin irritation I experienced. I appreciate the goodwill refund, but the technical explanation felt like a complete deflection. Disappointed because I really had wanted this to work.

How do I love thee ... let me count the ways – This tap is arguably the most useful thing in my kitchen. I love it. If I ever move I will switch it out with a similar "normal" tap and take the… Read more

Multitap with me! I use it for so many things. A cup of tea is what most people think of, but I also use it when in a hurry to boil or poach an egg, or steam vegetables or cook rice. Instead of cold water, I use the boiling water. I use it to blanch almonds, dissolve gelatine, kill germs on things, sterilise jars, quickly warm up a dinner plate or soup bowl, heat a palette knife to spread icing, or cut hard butter, etc. With the pandemic in 2020, it was very useful to scald things such as cutlery. I also use it with some dish soap in greasy pans or air fryer, leave it to sit a short while and give it a quick brush ... it soaks away any greasy surface quickly. There is not a day goes by that I don't use it. On top of its function, it looks so stylish (I chose the black and chrome one) and has a safety mechanism to stop young ones burning themselves. Love it, love it. I will admit I won it and am so happy I did. However, posting a good review was not mandatory. I genuinely get so much use out of it and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

I've had the Caroma Urban II cleanflush with bidet for some months now. Great toilet, love the no-rim clean flush feature, and also love the slim… Read more

line.

The bidet is easy to use; it also has a self-clean feature. The remote comes with the bidet, or you can control it on the side of the unit.

It's a fantastic clean-line bidet/toilet. The bidet has four heat settings for the seat, water, and air. You can also set the toilet seat to automatically open and close.

The biggest issue with the bidet is the reset unit is within the toilet unit. It's extremely hard to lift the bidet seat out of the toilet unit and reach under the pipes to locate the reset button.

I had to call my electrician over 15 times to come & reset the toilet for me as it kept shutting down, which means you cannot use the bidet features until it's reset. I also had the electrician to relocate the reset unit outside of the toilet.

My plumber put in a service call to Caroma as the reset should only go out when power goes off. Caroma service were really easy to deal with, kept me updated when service would be. The bidet unit was replaced within 14 days, and the plumber told me this is a known issue with the unit & they are working on it.

I bought the Evekare Smart Bidet Toilet Seat from Bunnings about a month ago, and had it professionally installed by a plumber. So far, my experience… Read more

with the seat has been fantastic, despite a few minor shortcomings. This is a living review and will be updated as my experience with the product changes.

The Good Stuff:

The seat is surprisingly sturdy and feels quite well built for its price. While it's too early to tell if it'll stand the test of time, the product's 3 year warranty is comforting, and I trust that Bunnings will be helpful if I need to use it.

A few reviews were saying that the spray pressure is weak, which has not been my experience. Even the default middle flow setting consistently does it's job adequately and cleanly. As someone who's travelled to Japan many times, the pressure is roughly similar to that of washlet bidets in Japanese toilets. The temperature settings are easy to adjust and respond instantly.

The seat warmer is a fantastic addition and pleasantly surprised me the first few times, especially after years of sitting on cold toilet seats. You can adjust the level of heat or turn it off altogether via the remote, and thankfully the remote remembers the seat warmer setting, unlike some other functions (more on that later).

The seat has a deodorising function that activates as soon as someone sits down. It makes a faint sound, like an air conditioner, and pulls air from the bowl through an activated carbon filter to prevent odours from spreading into the room, which is a nice touch. I can’t say for certain how well it works, but it seems to do a decent job.

The seat has a blue LED lighting that illuminates inside the bowl (see photos) when a sensor on the seat senses the room is dark. The blue light permeates the room too, but isn't overly bright, which I quite like. One review I read claimed the light couldn’t be turned off, but that’s not correct. According to the user manual, you can toggle the LED light on or off by holding the posterior cleaning button on the side panel of the seat for five seconds.

The Minor Shortcomings:

The remote control lets you adjust four settings: spray temperature, spray position, spray flow, and seat warmer level. Unfortunately, only the seat warmer setting is saved permanently; the spray settings all reset to default after a short time (possibly around 10-15 minutes). This seems intentional, and I can see the reasoning - most seats are shared, so people probably don’t want the previous user’s settings. I live alone, though, and it would be nice not to have to adjust the spray position every time. It’s a minor inconvenience (literally just a couple of extra button presses) but having the option to save a default would be a nice compromise for both scenarios.

The seat has a dry function, which you can use after spraying to dry your bum. It might just be that my expectations are too high, but running the dry function at any temperature (even the hottest) for the full two minutes (it switches off automatically after 2 mins to prevent bum burn) doesn't seem to make a lot of difference for how much water remains. The dry function also produces a faint plasticky smell, which is probably just because the unit is still new. I expect the smell to fade with use, but in any case, the dry function doesn’t feel very effective. As I said, I may just be expecting too much.

Great until the head-seal washer needed replacing – Initially after purchase I would have rated this as 5 star. Now I'm rating as a 3 star due to valve failure. Today noted water running into the pan… Read more

... I heard a buzzing electronic kind of noise was coming from somewhere in the cistern unit. A red light was lit in the sensor on the top. Lifted the cistern lid and water was spraying over the upper part of the central column and the battery box. Opened the battery box and there was water in the battery box. Looks like the head seal washer had failed. Guessing the electronics became wet and it shorted out.

The waterproof battery case turned out to not be so water proof. As per the warning on the instructions, don't get the electronics wet or the valve may malfunction, well, the valve malfunctioned and now the water just keeps flushing into the pan.

I then removed the wet batteries and and dried the inside of the battery box. Fresh batteries put in, plugged back in. Turned water on. It appears the valve is not closing. No response from the sensor.

Going to let is sit for a few days to dry out and see if that helps.

With a 2 year warranty on the sensor, I thought, great! It's covered. But now I found in the fine print a sentence about what is not covered by warranty....if the electrical components get wet, warranty is void. At $190 to replace because of a poor design (or was it a smart design to make you replace early?) I am now hesitant to replace as the same thing will probably happen again when the washer wears out.

12/10/2023 Update on the head-seal washer & valve being stuck. I went back to the place of purchase and they referred me to the manufacturer. I filled out a form on the manufacturer's website and a nice lady named Maria contacted me the next day. She stated that the malfunction was not known about and sent a replacement unit to me. I fitted the new unit and I turned the top of the inlet around so the head seal is now facing the edge of the cistern and away from the central column with the valve and wiring. Working as intended once again. Changed my rating from 3 stars back to 5 stars based on my experience and the fact that the malfunction was very unusual.

hand. I had no difficulty installing the tap myself - needs only basic plumbing knowledge (such as how to turn off mains water and how to use plumbers' nylon thread tape to make a waterproof connection). The pictorial instructions were easy to follow. I've been using the tap for 5 months now and am still very happy with it. The only 'disadvantage' is that, since the handle is flat, it tends to collect stains from soap scum etc but it takes only a second or two to wipe clean.
