told it was my fault. This is not the case. I will not be purchasing another of these. What I love is the fact that both blankets failed within days of their 12 months anniversary. The first one two days before the 12 months was up the second one day. Totally do not recommend this product.
As others have noted, this product won't last more than one winter. I think they expect you'll forget and just buy another.

mainstream brands.
I purchased the Jason heated throw earlier this week from Big W in Melbourne, expecting the warmth to be similar to the others I've owned - especially as it cost $89 (similar to Sunbeam and Breville products available from Myers, Good Guys, etc). But - even after being turned on for an hour - this Jason throw was barely more than warm.
Over the years I have purchased many heated throws (for myself, family and friends), because they're a perfect solution to a cold house - especially when working from home. All the others have warmed up fast and provided solid heat. Although the majority of the Sunbeam ones died / burned out quickly (within weeks or months of usage), at least they provided lots of warmth while they lasted.
I will be returning my product for a refund and buying a slightly pricier Breville one instead, as my Breville heated throws have been incredibly warm and have never burned out.
