good that my $3000 mattress is still in the garage and I've been in my new place for over a month. I love it! By far the best $150 I've spent in a longtime. I sleep on it every night and wake up feeling refreshed. Not even my $3000 mattress does that! I have added more air occasionally, due to the season change, and let air out when it's warmer. The pump is built in and works a treat.

so called good quality ones I bit the bullet and even though it was only available at a reasonable price in America I purchased one from Variety Plus on EBay. Their service was excellent, paid by PayPal and straight in the post purchased October 26th and arrived a November 9th.
The benefits of this QS Mattress is its height 38cm making it very easy to get in and out of. It’s stabi and lack of noise when moving on it, no disturbance for your partner. It has a built in pump and is quick to inflate and deflate. It is a pocket coil design with Velour plush top.
A couple of things to remember though is the voltage difference between here and the States so a step down transformer is needed, capacity of 115watts (I already had one, but you can get them on eBay as well) another downside is that power is needed to pump up this bed, an external pump is no good.
But this aside the mattress is worth it, the total cost incl delivery was just on $200 Australian dollars. So only about $40 more than the Eurobed.
I suggest if you are in the market for an Air bed you should google “best Air bed reviews”

product, their own Tentworld brand’s “Slumbermat”.
I was hesitant at first, as I worried the difference in price may be an indicator of a difference in quality and comfort. I’m now so glad I trusted him and saved my money by buying this product.
Having slept on both, we couldn’t tell the difference between the “Monstamat” and “Slumbermat”. Both appear to be made from very high quality materials, are comfortable and supportive, easy to inflate and easy to pack up. They both have reversible one-way vents - one way allows the mattress to self inflate and not let the air back out, then flipped the other way the vents allow easy removal of air and you won’t have to fight the mattress as the air can’t get back in until you flip the vents open again.
We also love that the storage/carry bag is oversized for easy packing, but even better than that, the bag is also a simple inflation device in case you like the mattress extra firm. My husband and I prefer an extra firm mattress, so use the bag to give the Slumbermat some extra air, this takes 30 seconds or less, then we let out air as needed to reach the perfect mattress firmness. So no one needs to worry about their camp mattress being too soft or too hard anymore, just get a Slumbermat and adjust it to however you like.

double airbed - the "single-high" refers to single layer - a description which really only applies to sprung mattresses). Purchased 21-1-21.
NEVER HAD AN AIRBED THAT HELD UP THIS GOOD. $30 on catch.com.au was EXCEPTIONAL VALUE NOW IT HAS LASTED THIS LONG, even if it self-destructs on next use I won't feel ripped-off. Since initial review below I used it as a temporary bed while I renovated a new home. About 4 weeks of constant additional use on a tarp on a very cold concrete floor so it needed additional air every 2-3 nights (very little). I suspect decompression from the cold floor. After I put EVA mats under it the pressure drop eased off. NOTE: Haven't used it for 2 people. Based on long experience with airbeds (notoriously unreliable and short-lived) I have my doubts the welded seams even on this model would have held together this long under load from 2 people. I could be wrong. I have always been extremely careful about anything (e.g. watches, sleeping bag zippers) that can push into the thin fabric of airbeds. Happy customer here.

MANUFACTURER'S CLAIM (INTEX ADVERT): "Introducing 10" (25cm) Deluxe Single-High Airbed with Fiber-Tech Technology. The perfect all-around sleeping solution, this compact airbed provides both campers and in-home users with the convenience of a low-profile, light-weight, comfortable bed that is built for long-lasting durability".
Size: Double, Thickness: 25 cm, Dimensions: 1.37 m x 1.91m x 25 cm (Approx), Weight capacity: 273 kg Colour: Beige
MY REVIEW Compared to other airbeds I reviewed on this site this Intex has exceptional support. Tested with 1 person only on a double bed size mattress. Double size or larger airbeds don't offer as much support for only one person. This is because they are bigger and therefore spongier with only one person. So I have to say this makes the support offered by this model all the more exceptional (for an airbed). The single model would be firmer and more supportive for one person. The double has limited roll (by airbed standards) and great support at the recommended 80% inflation. Pump it up closer to 100% and you have unbelievable firmness by any standard (better than your non-inflatable sprung mattress).
The flocked surface is very soft. There is no toxic smell from the pvc material
STRETCH. It stretches like any other airbed. And being a single person on a double you will notice it more. This tells me the material is thin, however tough it may be. I slept on it for 10 days camping and it stopped losing firmness at about 7-8 days in hot weather (>30degrees daytime temperature inside a tent). This tells me it was more a case of stretch than leaking air. The inflation valve on this bed is not a threaded double lock valve - it is a push in valve and does not appear as air-tight - but it works and so far doesn't leak.
SIZE FOR CAMPING. I regret getting the double but the single wasn't available when I purchased it on 14-1-2021. Due to thickness (height) the double will barely fit in the average 4 man tent (210cm wide). Its almost impossible to blow it up due to the tight squeeze. The bed pushed my inner tent against the outer tent fly. I so when it rained the water seeped through the tent and the airbed acted like a wick on each end where it contacted the tent walls. If your tent is only 200-210cm wide (internally) you better be sure the fly is IMPERVIOUS and no leaks from the seams that run down the inside. I never had this contact problem with low profile airbeds (10-15cm thick). PRICING (VALUE) I paid only $29.95 and one month later the price of the double is now $39.95 on the same site: Catch.com.au
LONGEVITY I can't vouch for durability. Punctures aside, airbeds have very limited life-spans due to oxidation of the thin PVC material and eventual fatigue/tearing of welded seams. I am 100 kilos and most airbeds I have owned have lasted more than 10 days so its too early to tell if this Intex is any more durable - it certainly is the most comfortable and supportive airbed I have owned so far. It is rated at 273 kg (as a double airbed) which is more than other single airbeds I have owned. But the fact that it stretches no less than any other cheap airbed is not reassuring...time will tell.
Wonderful mattress. Didn’t worry about putting it back in bag just rolled it up in my swag

the valve there was a good half inch of cushion to lay on. And that's where the positives end. A couple of minutes of laying down and you may as well be laying on the three fivers you just handed over for it. Almost instantaneous deflation. No obvious damage, more than likely variance in manufacture. A lucky dip in the centre isle. Leave well alone.

does not self inflate to 100mm thickness, simply a piece of very soft foam wrapped in cheap plastic, no matter what you do, you will still touch the floor (I weigh 80kgs). Being fair, I thought I'd call the store to ask if I can return (the unused product) and upgrade to the more expensive mattress, I still had the original box receipts (this mattress was only a few hours out of the box). To my dismay, the lady on the phone bluntly put it - "No you cannot return it as you have opened the box", I pleaded that I don't want a refund just simply to upgrade to the more expensive mattress, still NO.
Policy clearly states Only items that are unused, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition will be eligible for return. The item I had was unused, had its original packaging and in resaleable condition.
I'll count my losses and move on, won't ever step foot into another store again and will spread the word across as many online platforms to prevent others experiencing the same.
Shame on so many levels.

was so cheap if it only lasted a few nights I would still be ahead. This model comes with no pump, just a screw in, one way valve. What do you expect for less than $20? I blew it up and placed it on my slat base bed frame. I'll be honest and say I felt no difference between this mattress and my $600 innerspring that I had sold. It was very comfortable and despite having no pump wasn't a huge bother to inflate manually. At least now i can take my time deciding on a new permanent mattress and still get a good nights rest. Well worth it for the price and as a short term solution. Very affordable, available at the supermarket, simple product. No patch repair kit as stated on the box, but who cares really?

in inflation motor regardless of where you place the setting 2. They are very cold as the bed absorbs the ground level cold and despite using thermal sheets, it’s still super cold 3. The mattress when deflated is really heavy 4. The mattress acts like a water bed and you cannot sit upright on the bed without sinking down with your legs up. In the end I bought a really good Coleman mattress with a double action stop valve and separate external inflator.

Bed needed a top up every day since new but now it wont hold air at all, it's only 13 months old. I found and made a video showing that the side seam was leaking in multiple locations, 100% manufacturing fault.

Bed was only 1 month out of warranty but after showing Coleman the video they basically said in a nice way that they don't care because warranty is over.
I will make sure myself or anyone I know stays clear of these terribly bad quality Colman products, and would recommend nobody wastes money on these seemingly great products built with a disregard for any kind of manufacturing quality.

Before buying an air mattress, there are 3 things you should first ask yourself:
- What will I be using this for?
- How many people will be sleeping in it?
- How often will I be using this?
This will help you navigate your way through the vast array of options on the market and find one that best suits your needs.
Types of air beds
Indoor air beds
Also known as blow up mattresses, air mattresses or inflatable mattresses, these types of beds are usually inflated with air and are made for an indoor setting. They are perfect for hosting sleepovers and other events that call for temporary sleeping arrangements. They usually come with a pre-installed pump which can be plugged into a mains and left to inflate and deflate as needed.
Normally, they are made out of PVC, nylon, rubber or urethane with an added comfort layer (made of polyfoam, memory foam or latex). Sometimes, a soft-top cover made of velveteen is provided.
Outdoor air beds
For those who want a cosy place to sleep even while camping or out and about, you should consider your options of outdoor beds. These include camping mattresses, framed camp beds and self-inflating mats.
Outdoor air beds are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry and set up. They can be made of either foam or air, with PVC or vinyl covers which are easy to clean. They can come in many sizes ranging from single beds to queen-size. These types of beds can come with an inbuilt air pump or a detachable air pump which you can buy separately.
Can you use an air mattress in the place of a real bed?
Air mattresses are not designed for everyday use and doing so will lead to a rapid decline in product quality. Unlike regular mattresses, air mattresses require constant maintenance and checking for air pressure and holes - they also tend to flatten over time with regular use.
Air mattresses may also not be suitable for children or pregnant women on a long-term basis since they don’t provide effective temperature regulation or body support.
Things to consider when buying an air mattress
Comfort: We all know how having a bad night’s sleep affects us, therefore, one of the most important things you can consider when choosing an air mattress is comfort.
Depending on how often you, or your guests, will be sleeping on the product may be a good indicator of how much you want to invest in this feature. For better sleep, go with a model that has a soft velvet-like finish on the top which is not only nicer to sleep on when you are not using sheets, for instance, when you’re camping, but also has a much better grip for when you are using bedsheets.
Some models of air beds will allow you to adjust the firmness of the bed to suit your liking, and features such as inbuilt pillows can also make an airbed feel more similar to an actual bed.
**Size: **It’s important to decide what sized-mattress would suit your room and needs. Like actual beds, they come in junior, single, twin, double, queen and king sizes. Single bed sleeping mattresses are more compact and can easily be tucked away under your actual bed or carried on a camping trip.
Depending on how many impromptu guests you want to accommodate when the time comes, and how much space you have, the size of your bed should be factored into the equation.
If you’ll primarily be using it for kids, then it’s best to go with a junior size which means the bed will not be elevated too highly so embarking and disembarking is not a problem.
Ease of use: When your guests come over or when you’re out camping, the last thing you want to do is set aside 2 hours of your day to set up a bed. Consider how easy the product is to use by reading the manual, the suggested set up times and user reviews of the product.
Learning how the pumping system works is especially important as the length of the assembly can take between 30 - 60 minutes for some beds or require two people. Another factor to consider is the elevation size as some mattresses are either too low on the ground to be comfortable or too high, making it difficult to get on and off the bed.
Portability: If you know you’ll be transporting this bed with you, either when you go camping or to someone else’s house, you’ll need to read the specs closely and consider the weight and size of your air mattress. Many mattresses come with a carry-on kit, specially geared for easy portability.
Materials: Inflatable mattresses are traditionally made of vinyl (a stretchy type of plastic), however, the top brands are made of TPU and also feature a velvet-top. The material of your mattress will determine how well you sleep on it and is a worthy investment if you want to improve your sleep quality.
Durability: Some companies, such as SoundAsleep uses multiple layers in their Dream Series, Cloud 9 and Camping Series. This means that if you scratch the bed, it will not leak as only the surface layer will be damaged. Other products, such as OZtrail’s self-inflating mat claims not to deflate through the night even with tears and punctures.
If you know you’ll be using this product often, especially in rougher outdoor terrain, it’s important to read reviews alluding to the durability of the product and keep in mind the warranty period in case anything does go wrong. Some air mattresses are sold with a repair kit already provided which can save you money in the long run from repair costs.
Should things go smoothly, air mattresses can last for up to 7 years before they need replacing.
Pump: Pumps for air beds can come in internal or external forms and run on either electricity or battery. This can be useful depending on if you have access to a plug point or will be away from the home. Both forms have their pros and cons.
External air pumps are the cheaper option when compared to buying a mattress with an inbuilt air pump and are similarly cheaper to replace if they stop working. However, manual external air pumps will require you to work out your legs to inflate your mattress and electric detachable pumps can easily be lost and a hassle to re-inflate the bed during the night.
Internal pumps are much more convenient since you don’t have to fit anything into the valve and simply have to turn a dial or push a button. In addition, “smart” or “never flat” pumps use a second pump with sensors that monitor the pressure inside the bed and pump air as needed to maintain your firmness setting.
On the downside, they tend to be more expensive than detachable pumps and can add to the weight of the mattress which makes them less portable.
Another factor to keep in mind is the noise of the pump, with those in the higher ranger tending to be quieter.
Non-slip bottom: For added safety, consider choosing an air mattress with a non-slip surface at the bottom. This is usually in the form of rubbery dots which prevent the bed from sliding.
Value for money: The prices of air mattresses can range from $50 to $300, depending on the size and features included, but there is a great air mattress for every budget and need if you know what to look for.
The bottom line
The air bed you choose should be one that is comfortable for the person sleeping in it - and comfort is compromised of size, material and ease of use.
To keep your air mattress functioning properly for as long as possible, you should do regular maintenance checks, not use the bed daily and invest in durable materials. You can also pay more now for a warranty which could save you big bucks in the future.
