Do not buy this cooker – The cooktop is very dissappointing as the burners do not easily or consistently stay on. Initially the problem was limited to the double wok burner but now the front right burner is refusing to stay on. Show details

Very good BUT..... frustrating limited temperature selections – We recently had our freestanding Kleenmaid St George oven die after 20 years service. After reading reviews online and going to the store to look for… Read more

a new oven, we finally decided on the Fisher and Paykel "Professional series" pyrolytic duel fuel freestanding cooker, over the smeg oven with similar specifications. Initially we were very happy when it arrived, as it was bigger and heated up much faster than the previous oven, the cooktop was a lot better, and the rotisserie worked surprisingly well. However, we soon discovered that the temperature knob was graduated in preset temperatures. So rather than allowing you to turn it to the desired temperature, you can only select the preset temperatures. This sounds like a great idea except for the fact that the settings do not allow a 5-degree temperature increments and at lower temperatures you can only select the preset temps that they have decided on. So if your recipe calls for a 30 mins at 195 you will have to adjust the cooking time as there is no 195,185,175 only 190 180 170 and so on. Even though the manual also gives these suggestions of the 5-degree temperatures for ideal cooking times, you are unable to select that on this oven. So for a "professional" oven this is a bit of a frustration, as any of the recipes which require 5 degree increments will have to be adjusted accordingly. It was also hard to spot this issue prior to purchase as the other reviews never mentioned this, and in store the temperature selection knob doesn't seem to show this limitation clearly. If you can get past this, then the oven cooks food very well and the cooktop is easy to clean and does a great job at quickly and easily cooking whatever you throw at it. I just really wish that the temperature knob allowed these fine tuning of temperatures especially considering the cost of the oven and the fact that it is sold as a professional series.

DISAPPOITING WARRANTY – This is more about the extractor fan than the oven. But very disappointed when you pay a premium price for a premium brand name that the warranty is… Read more

only 2 years. Our cupboards are 10 years. Samsung fix any issues with their products after many years. But F & P 2 years appear a little outdated. So our fan has a basic issue such as the cover is peeling away due to poor workmanship and it isnt covered....

Fisher & Paykel RUBBISH! Avoid the ovens and the company! – BUY ANYTHING ELSE BUT Fisher and Paykel!!!!!!!!! Problems from day 1 with no support and their warranty isn’t worth a thing! They are extremely… Read more

rude and won’t stand by their products!! Their ovens are complete junk and they know it!

The gas igniters do not work from new, you have to stand there igniting the gas while the flame is on for 45 seconds, it turns the gas off randomly while trying to cook! We’ve had them out under warranty numerous times and all they do is pack washers behind the knobs and leave.

When the issue arises again after a week, they come back and pack more washers. THEN THEY FINALLY SAY WE WILL FIX IT PROPERLY BUT YOU NEED TO PAY ALL OUTCALL AND PARTS LABOUR! THEY WONT TELL YOU THIS UNTIL THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVES THOUGH.

Better still, when you say you won’t be paying a cent, the so called technician gets all grumpy and slams the door on his way out! Absolutely atrocious behaviour!!!

This will be the very last F&P rubbish product we ever buy and we will continue to warn absolutely everyone we know about your cheap deceptive and rude way of doing business.

I look forward to selling it on marketplace for parts and buying a Miele! Here is to getting this junk and your brand out my house!

Disappointed – Disappointed, to say the least. Finally made the decision to switch from gas to induction. The first freestanding oven was installed, and the… Read more

induction cooktop was great. It heated up faster than gas and heat control was fantastic. Unfortunately, the oven didn't work properly, taking a long time to reach temperature, then dropping anywhere from 30 to 80 degrees. This led to dinners taking 2 hours to cook instead of 45 minutes. Over two months, we had two separate visits from different repair places, both agreed oven was not functioning correctly, but didn't send reports to Fisher and Paykel. I ended up having to call Fisher & Paykel myself to escalate. They were very understanding, and sent a replacement which was installed a week later. I was really hopeful that this would be the end of the story, but the new oven isn't fantastic either. The results using the fan forced elements are sub par, the other oven setting seem ok so far. So the oven gets a pass.....just. However, now I have an issue where a pot that worked on the previous induction cooktop, and is induction compatible, now only works intermittently on the new cooktop. I made sure the cooktop was clean and the base of the pot also, but the induction cuts in and out and eventually cuts off. I think this will be the last time I buy anything from Fisher and Paykel, as the quality just doesn't appear to be there.
