Do not buy this cooker – The cooktop is very dissappointing as the burners do not easily or consistently stay on. Initially the problem was limited to the double wok burner but now the front right burner is refusing to stay on. Show details

I am happy with this oven except for the timer function which is useless. It is much too quiet and doesn't go for long enough. if you are any distance from the oven then it is quite likely you won't hear it. Show details

Very good BUT..... frustrating limited temperature selections – We recently had our freestanding Kleenmaid St George oven die after 20 years service. After reading reviews online and going to the store to look for… Read more

a new oven, we finally decided on the Fisher and Paykel "Professional series" pyrolytic duel fuel freestanding cooker, over the smeg oven with similar specifications. Initially we were very happy when it arrived, as it was bigger and heated up much faster than the previous oven, the cooktop was a lot better, and the rotisserie worked surprisingly well. However, we soon discovered that the temperature knob was graduated in preset temperatures. So rather than allowing you to turn it to the desired temperature, you can only select the preset temperatures. This sounds like a great idea except for the fact that the settings do not allow a 5-degree temperature increments and at lower temperatures you can only select the preset temps that they have decided on. So if your recipe calls for a 30 mins at 195 you will have to adjust the cooking time as there is no 195,185,175 only 190 180 170 and so on. Even though the manual also gives these suggestions of the 5-degree temperatures for ideal cooking times, you are unable to select that on this oven. So for a "professional" oven this is a bit of a frustration, as any of the recipes which require 5 degree increments will have to be adjusted accordingly. It was also hard to spot this issue prior to purchase as the other reviews never mentioned this, and in store the temperature selection knob doesn't seem to show this limitation clearly. If you can get past this, then the oven cooks food very well and the cooktop is easy to clean and does a great job at quickly and easily cooking whatever you throw at it. I just really wish that the temperature knob allowed these fine tuning of temperatures especially considering the cost of the oven and the fact that it is sold as a professional series.

Changed my perception of electric ovens! – What a fantastic oven. Had to have my 20yr old Chef gas oven replaced and because of limited gas ovens available, I opted for this electric one. I… Read more

have been really impressed with its easy function settings and bright display (I have vision problems). The indicator alarms are terrific (eg: oven at temperature or timer has gone off). Highly recommend to anyone needing a smaller oven to fit an existing small wall cavity.

DISAPPOITING WARRANTY – This is more about the extractor fan than the oven. But very disappointed when you pay a premium price for a premium brand name that the warranty is… Read more

only 2 years. Our cupboards are 10 years. Samsung fix any issues with their products after many years. But F & P 2 years appear a little outdated. So our fan has a basic issue such as the cover is peeling away due to poor workmanship and it isnt covered....

Oven has broken down on 1st clean - Shocking customer service – We bought the 60CM 11 Function Pyrolytic Companion Oven so we could use the Pyrolytic clean to make this task easy. Small issue: Firstly, be aware… Read more

that you need to remove all trays and shelves from the oven before completing these cleans. They do not allow shelves to remain in the oven as the clean heats it at a temperature too high which will warp/ruin them. To be honest, the shelves are the worst to clean in an oven and not being able to keep these within, almost makes the Pyrolytic not worth it.

Major issue. After completing our very 1st clean, the oven has locked itself and has overcooked a few internal oven parts. Fisher and Payklel has attended our house after waiting two weeks and have now informed us we will need to wait a further two weeks before the oven will be fixed. This is shocking customer service and I fail to see how any large family can be expected to wait a month to have a brand new oven fixed. Shocking customer service Fisher and Paykel ! I would highly recommend you steer clear of Fisher and Paykle and choose a brand that is more customer focused.

Fisher & Paykel RUBBISH! Avoid the ovens and the company! – BUY ANYTHING ELSE BUT Fisher and Paykel!!!!!!!!! Problems from day 1 with no support and their warranty isn’t worth a thing! They are extremely… Read more

rude and won’t stand by their products!! Their ovens are complete junk and they know it!

The gas igniters do not work from new, you have to stand there igniting the gas while the flame is on for 45 seconds, it turns the gas off randomly while trying to cook! We’ve had them out under warranty numerous times and all they do is pack washers behind the knobs and leave.

When the issue arises again after a week, they come back and pack more washers. THEN THEY FINALLY SAY WE WILL FIX IT PROPERLY BUT YOU NEED TO PAY ALL OUTCALL AND PARTS LABOUR! THEY WONT TELL YOU THIS UNTIL THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVES THOUGH.

Better still, when you say you won’t be paying a cent, the so called technician gets all grumpy and slams the door on his way out! Absolutely atrocious behaviour!!!

This will be the very last F&P rubbish product we ever buy and we will continue to warn absolutely everyone we know about your cheap deceptive and rude way of doing business.

I look forward to selling it on marketplace for parts and buying a Miele! Here is to getting this junk and your brand out my house!

This is a Terrible Oven, Poorly Designed and Prone to Failure – The oven top fan element keeps blowing. It is a $250 replacement because you cannot (like almost every other oven) replace the element from the… Read more

front. You have to remeove the entire double oven, take off the metallic shroud, replace the element, replace the shroud and replace the oven. F&P say it is a two man job, so you pay for two people.

Try this over Christmas. The oven stopped working 07/12/2020. It was a controller module. By the time the part was located and FP fixed it it was 17/02/2021. Two months, no oven at all (top or bottom) over Christmas. Happy days.

The top element has been replace either 3 or 4 times (that's about $800 or more in service fees), plus the replacement of the module. When it works it's OK, but it is unreliable and you cannot even email FP, either phone or chat. They aren't interested in the oven failing, it always seems to be out of warranty or 12 months after the last repair (again out of warranty).

The design is stupid, to remove the whole double oven to replace a $40 element is beyond stupid.

My advice, just stay away from Fisher & Paykel, very poorly designed and prone to failure (again and again).

The oven looks great and works well however the volume of the timer alarm (even at 100%) is so quiet that unless you are in the kitchen near the oven… Read more

and it's quiet you won't hear it. It you are not in the kitchen forget it, you just won't hear the alarm. There is no further adjustment. Second issue relates to the user guide (which is generally not good) and specifically information on how "uninstall" and move the telescopic shelf runners (there are 2 types, the fully extendable shelf - which is a breeze to remove and relocate and the "telescopic shelf" which clips onto the shelf runners. Easy to install but if you want to move the shelf higher or lower in the oven we've found it impossible to un-clip them (worried about damaging them) and the user guide is useless, there's also nothing on line that we've been able to locate. I rang customer service and they told me they would send me something "in the next hour or so" that's now four days ago. Very frustrating.

centre of the food is still cold. This occurs for most variables of food types. If I use a conventional microwave, the same food types are properly cooked in the time recommended. Other functions seem to work OK. Bit disappointing considering the cost of the unit.
