Good Sound , Comfortable but build quality of wire and control box not designed to last long – I owned 2 of these. I liked the sound and long term comfort. Treated the headset with care but after 6 months of regular use the cable started to… Read more
crack and there was a loose connection inside the control box. This initially caused some cracking sound and then finally stopped working. Unfortunately a good product has been let down by due to low quality of connecting cables and control box connections. My advise : Casual and careful users : Go for it and treat it with extreme care Regular users : Stay away from it.

Twitch streaming, and it got me by for a while until I needed to buy a headset. I consider myself an audiophile, but I didn't want to spend much money on something I'll use a few times a week.
After some research, I settled on the Microsoft Modern Wireless Headset. Admittedly, it's not much to look at. It won't win design awards, but it's understated and blends into my desk. It's there when I need it and hides away when I don't.
First and foremost, this is a headset for audio calls. Don't get these with the intention of listening to music through them. While you could listen to music with them, the quality is clearly optimised for talking (your Zoom and Teams calls). The audio quality itself was surprisingly good. Once again, you're not going to get 32k audio here or use this to record vocals for your metal band, but for audio calls. It's a step above your inbuilt computer microphone and speakers.
I've been using this headset for a few months now, and it's comfortable for long calls. I've worn this during 4+ hour calls (I know, four hours), and my ears didn't feel sore or burning afterwards. The padding is surprisingly comfortable. If you want a headset for making audio calls, I highly recommend it. I don't use any of its buttons to know its features other than it works.
If you're a Mac user, this headset will pair over Bluetooth without needing the included dongle.
