"damp mop", we ended up with water all over the floor and I had to get down on all fours with towels to dry out the tiles so they could be walked on. The supplied bucket is another waste of time as it leaves the mop dripping water. As for the design of the mop itself, well, I was reduced to short strokes of about 18 inches so as to not scrape the plastic head on the floor. Very frustrating to attempt to use.

person who had never used a mop before and then not tested. To qualify, I have always liked Vileda mops and when the usual basic one I'd used for years was unavailable, I bought this "fancier" one instead. It was $79 for a mop that I did not want to spend but I needed a mop and Vileda WAS the only brand I trusted. I could also see the logic of having one part of the bucket for clean water and one for dirty. It didn't work but the idea was good.

To save time, this is what was wrong with the Vileda H2Pro Spin Mop and Bucket System.

(1) No instructions, just cryptic illustrations with arrows. (2) The bucket leaks - not massively but if you leave it for five minutes on a hard surface, there will be a moist area all around the base of the bucket so presumably the material is porous. (3) You cannot carry the bucket around by the handle as it sort of rocks and water sloshes out. (4) You are supposed to the water in through a whole at the top and then pull a red lever for the water to appear in one one of the containers but this seems sporadic. It is as if they don't want you to use water - okay then why is there a complex bucket system and mentions of water? (5) The mop scratches the floor - there is a hard, sharp plastic bit the middle and unless you are incredibly careful it will literally scratch the floor and is horrible to use. You cannot just do the task you want to do easily. (6) Even though extended and tightened, the mop will collapse into the shorter version of itself with even the slightest pressure or apparently an angle it doesn't like. But the only way to avoid scratching the floor with the hard middle bit is to slightly angle it. (7) As carrying it by the handle sloshes water, you need to carry it with both hands but that is quite unstable as the middle part can come out.

I don't know how Vileda managed to sell a product that was overwrought and overpriced but also made something usually done quickly, efficiently and easily into an actual stress event. This mop is so bad I am not only throwing it all in the bin, I am discarding my spare Vileda mop heads as I am never purchasing Vileda anything again. It's not even a principle - my jaw feels tight and my occipitals hurt when I see their brand name.

I have a new puppy - who is a joy - and floors to mop. I spent $79 on a product that is not fit for purpose and I can only assume the few nice things I have seen written about this monstrosity were promoted content. It astonishes me that something so basic can be made so complex and difficult. I feel ripped off because I was ripped off but having wasted four hours trying to get this encrappified thing to work, I need to bin it and move on. If you like to mop quickly and not be stressed by the process, avoid this.
