Haven’t had major probs with it 2yrs on – Bit of corrosion on top where it meets the flue but that seems to be the case with many heaters anyway. Other than that, haven’t had an issue with it. We’ve had it running every winter for past 2yrs (approx every night for 4 mths each year).

An excellent heater for a smaller space – We are now into our second season with our Rubyvale heater. We have a smaller space to heat; approximately 90m2, and the heater fills this area with… Read more

even, warm comfort. We are completely satisfied with its performance. I’d like to share a few things I’ve learnt. It is super important that the heater is installed professionally. After seeing how it was installed (Link Heating Hornsby, Sydney), I was very glad that I didn’t attempt it myself. There’s a lot to it and the job was really good. My first few fires were not very good but after watching many, many YouTube clips I now have a successful and easy to light fire every time. We burn quality wood - Ironbark at the moment which results in high heat and low ash. Kindling; we use fallen sticks and branches from gum trees. The irregular shape and size of sticks(as opposed to uniform commercial kindling), allows really good airflow. Our kindling burns hard and hot which lights up the Ironbark easily. We burn at a low setting which maintains a 22degree temperature inside regardless of the outside temperature. It would be very easy to overheat the house so we are careful with this. The longer it is used continuously, the more efficient it becomes. We use as much wood in the first 90 minutes as we would use for the rest of the evening. The lesson here is to start hot then temper things down a bit. The Masport appears to be well made and we’ve had no issues with it so far. A relative had problems with the finish on his Masport which was a similar age. One phone call resulted in a service person repairing the fault and repainting the fireplace. He was very impressed with Masport after-sales service which is good to know. I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

This fire heater will make a whistling noise – This fire heater will make a whistling noise!!!! We bought this wood heater last month and got it installed last week around 20/06/23. The heater… Read more

works alright but on any windy (15km plus) day it'll make a horrible whistling noise. It's not something that annoys you but a sound would affect your day to day life like if your work from home, if you watch a tv show, or even try to sleep. I have emailed Masport Heating support and will update this for any follow ups. Update: After this review, I was contacted by Masport customer service within a few days and they've exchanged my old air tube with a new one that doesn't make any noise. I'm definitely impressed by their customer service. We've been using the stove for a month now and it works perfectly, if you still on the fence about getting a wood heater I would definitely recommend you getting one. It changes the feeling of the whole house. The Masport stove has been working well and I'm confident with this purchase.
