Is it a lemon??? – My second JD. the first approx 600+ hours, worked extremely well - albeit a bit quick to breakdown after 600 hours. Purchased a 2nd JD E110. after approx 130 hours the clutch went and had to be replaced. after 170 hours the starter motor refused to work and when replaced by the mechanic immediately failed. "con" in the motor and needs to be completely overhauled. He did state it was rare for that to happen, but it should not have if the mower was properly built in the first place. Hoping that JD will come to the party on some compensation - however not holding my breath.

This is the worst riding tractor I've ever owned – Haven't had machine 4years roughly 110 hours. Serviced with agent and have had to replace motor, PTO cable 3 times and today it left go again. You pay for 4 year extended warranty and 2 years in you find out that EXTENDED WARRANTY runs consecutive with the manufacturer 2 year warranty. So why is it called extended warranty. Machine for over 13 years and all we did was change oil, have blades sharpened, and replace belts and battery. It is still being used by our nephew. Will never purchase anything John Deere again. Nothing empties your pockets like a deere.

Burning oil with 90 hours on JD àe140 – Bought JD e140 in 2018 and it's burning about a quart of oil after running an hour. I'm thinking the head gasket is shot. Unbelievable. Show details

Really Disappointed – Bought JD since other brand was crap. Seemed ok when it was new, but started noticing little things. For three(3) blades, it didn’t seem to cut well and it left several small strips of grass. Bought the bagger, and it is just total garbage. The chute plugs up, at attachment. chute. It is 2 years old and suddenly it doesn’t start. Checked all connections, battery good wires tight, brake and seat sensors test ok. YouTube vids don’t seem to help. So wasting more time trying to figure out what’s wrong. Scale of 1-10 I give it a 4. Should have got zero turn.

Would never buy a John Deere product again – I have had my E140 ride on mower for2.5 years now and have to say I am extremely disappointed with it. The cut is not as expected nor the operation of the mower itself. The service costs are ridiculous - and having to wait 3 weeks to get my mower back from a service is also extremely frustrating. Would not recommend John Deere to anyone. Show details

It cuts unevenly – Despite 3 efforts by the dealer, the mower cuts lower on the left hand side when cutting 1 way on a side slope and lower on the rhs when cutting in the opposite direction . Easy Oil Change Not True – I purchased the E-120 model because of the easy oil change advertising. The owners manual said change filter after first 8/hrs of use. I watched the videos and read the instructions and you can’t do it. down and then twist in a clockwise manner and all in a very confined space. I seriously doubt the ladies or the gentleman in the video really installed the filter. I’m having my mower mechanic come over to see if he can get it on. Shame on you John Deere for deceptive advertising.

Not built like the used to be! – Bought a e100 ride on tractor mower brand new at Christmas 2020. 15 hrs of use later the drive belt snapped! Also has 2 flat tyres the result of double g’s penetrating the tyres . Management at the Afgri equipment Perth tells me that I should have removed double g’s before mowing.???? The best way to sell more: Low quality- low price, making reasons for not accepting the warranty, expensive spare parts – In February 2020, I purchased an E110 from the Tamworth branch. After about a month, I realized that the deck was very noisy and vibrating a lot, and within 5 months, I changed 3 belts for the deck. Also, one of the blades was bent, so I thought I should be responsible for the issue and changed the blade. After replacing the blade, the belt broke… Read more

again, and after replacing the belt, the new belt broke immediately. So, I moved the machine to the branch (at personal expense!!!). I explained to the branch service manager and made it clear that there was a lot of vibration in the deck. After the service, he told me that the front guides of the belts were not in the right place !!! and it was the reason for the rupture of the belts. He said the condition of the bearings, spindles, and the deck is good and there is no problem (I was not sure, but I accepted). After two months, the vibration and sound of the deck had risen sharply. Today, for 50 hours of service, I was about to lubricate when I noticed that all the holes on the deck belonging to one of the spindles were completely dilated and the spindle was completely loose. Going to Tamworth Branch, after a lot of storytelling, I heard this sentence: "We can not replace the deck under warranty, because there have been problems with the blade replacement." I am really disappointed with John Deere's services and I am sorry for myself that I trusted their product. As a mechanical engineer who knows all the mechanical components of a machine, the explanations I heard about the causes of deck failure were just an excuse for me to admit that I was wrong and I should pay for the repair cost.

JUNK!!!!!! Worst mower I ever bought, I'm 62 – Burning & leaking oil bad from day 1. It smokes so bad it burns my eyes. Been in the shop 3 times (Greenway), 16 hours on it, no help. The blade belt is so loose you can't start the blades in grass. Every time you need to go in reverse, with the blade engaged, you must push a button otherwise the engine stops. This is by far the worst mower that I have bought!!! Show details

Loose Belt – Belt is either the wrong one ... brand new and delivered by JD dealer ... or the pully system itself is faulty. No way to tighten. Previous JD worked fine and was serviceable. Nice mower, too bad it can't mow. Show details

Total disappointment!!! – I bought this 2020 e100 and only have 12 hrs on it. Have went through 4 belts and no one knows why? Cannot adjust drive belt cable. L bracket is welded on. drive it up to my house? is there oil in it? does it have gas? no answer from mexican drivers. turns out..no gas..no oil...in fact battery never connected. i was annoyed. well...it was here...i anticipated this from lowes..so i had gas..oil...wrenches in my gator. i figured i would have to do it my self. it fired up good..ran it 500 yards to my house. mowed today with it. it runs great..mows great. dont like the safety no mow in reverse nonsense. if they can put a button on it to mow in reverse..then we dont need this nonsense. its a simple mower...i like that. no bells and whistles. mows great. runs great. I'm going to disable this crap shutting everything off in reverse. john deere needs to realize we are not a bunch of peeons out here using a mower. get your engineers together in a group...fire them fools who dream up this safety nonsense. when you buy a mower..sign an agreement not holding john deere responsible. end this stupid butt switch stuff. this e100 is a basic cheap mower. which would work better if the switches were gone. otherwise..its an mtd..sears pc. of crap.

mow grass, not paspalum. I shouldn't have bought another John Deere my LA125 I had previously (which could mow paspalum) did a head gasket at 98hrs and cost $2500 to repair!

They seem to have improved the steering as it is light and manoverable. You can use the old mulch plug from the previous 100 series and this was a bonus for smaller areas to contain the grass shoot to a minimum. The 42 inch deck is standard across the range and helps my block which it about an acre of grass. I wanted to mention the V-twin motor.....its so powerful and quiet but has a lot of grunt when cutting, you don't get the hesitation as you would from a smaller engine when engaging in the heavy stuff, E.G wet or damp grass or longer grass. It just powers on through! The new one change oil filter is a bit gimmicky but it works well so there's no real need to go back to the dealer. Again a convenience that is most welcomed. I have been using this ride on about a month now and I can't fault it, Im glad I stuck to the JD, its still the best value in the market, looks good, cuts and handles well. It sure makes my life easier! I would recommend it highly!

Front Tire Keep Going Flat – Since I purchased in March 2018, I have to pump up the tire everytime I need to use it. Beware – After receiving the tractor, I noticed the shifter hard to operate. Mulched my leaves on third use and shifter got stuck in forward.John Deere claims a rock got caught in it so it's not covered under warranty. E 100 is best bang for buck. People are not having major problems with it – Made in u.S.A. Tennessee made. John deere motor . Seat goes back.. Cup holder cell phone holder..Dont break seat it goes back people have been braking the seat it goes back it is adjusted under with two hands they are made out of plasic so be carefull not to break anything. Show details
