More suction from a blocked drain – A vacuum cleaner is that what it is, what a poor excuse to make a few bucks who ever owns the brand name either Kmart or target one of the small players trying to make it big with their half hearted effort in producing handheld vacuum cleaner. Its noisey loud and performance is just perfetic ain't nothing good to say about this device, no wonder… Read more

its discontinued, probably cost more in customer refunds than it ever made, just like dicksmith a major flop. A waste of cupboard space.

It is really good – This machine is stick/handy vaccum. But I always use this stick, that is because it is hard to seperate. However, this is really goot at vaccuming, suck deeply my carpet and fllor such as dirt, hair. And it’s stick is helpful not to use my back when I cleaned. You have to buy it  Show details

Filter cleaning – Terrific machine, if you cut a stocking into small lengths tie a knot in one end place the stocking over the filter and under the rubber seal ,the filter is much easier to clean by removing the stocking and heavy dust in one go, then just knock out the fine dust, replace filter and rubber seal with another stocking  Show details

I believe this is now the Abode replacement called Contempo – I really wasn't expecting much for $35 from this dust buster but I have to say I am super surprised that I actually look for excuses to get it out and use it. Super light, the suction is fantastic, I can't believe how much dust it gets out of the rugs. Great to use around the pets bedding and getting into all those hard to reach corners. I… Read more

have a terribly bad back and have not suffered any tweaks using the stick, very easy to get under the tables without having bending too far.

I love that you can remove the stick but still use the wheels attached to the dust buster to vacuum out the car.

Only thing to remember, it does have a small barrel so needs to be emptied regularly. So far I have had no problems with jams, it empties very easily. I like this better than my big expensive Dyson.

Someone else complained that the barrel may crack so I am super careful not to tap on any hard edges and the filters are very easy to clean so I can see them lasting a long time.

For $35 I did go out and purchase another replacement unit because I am so happy with this machine I don't want to be without it. Certainly worth the low price to keep a spare.

best vac ever! great for dodgy backs – I have a really bad back so usually vacuuming is a chore I really struggle with but this vac makes it a breeze as it's light weight and the handle is nice and long so I don't have to bend over & you don't have to drag the vacuum around behind you. Cord is nice & long too  Show details

My every day super tool around the home – Just found the vacuum in Big W today 22/2/16 Now named contempo.Just the same as the Adobe as I checked it with my old ones.It is now Blue a change from the red.I love this little vac.I am a x professional cleaner. Also a dressmaker and this is a super little vac for a quick cleanup of my cotton clips on carpet. No brushes to tangle in.Same problem… Read more

everyone else had cracked dust containers on 2 previous ones.Hence a third one original price $29 now $35.motors perfect still. So will hang onto them in case of a electric blowout.Would be nice to be able to buy replacement clear plastic dust collector now and then.Being a Senior vac is perfect weight for old hands to use.Does a great suction job.But a waste having to keep buying just for dust holder.

Still selling at Big W? – Hi. I agree with ppl who left good reviews. I'm a big fan of this little light weight vacuum. I had purchased 2-3 times in the past and they lasted 2-3 years until some parts wrecked after heavy use of every day cleaning. My latest one is used almost 2years and the engagement parts of the plastic dust box to the main part is cracked and I need to… Read more

purchase new one.

Does anyone know if any Big W still have them in stock in Mel?

I checked Big W web site but it doesn't seem they don't have it stocked anymore.

Somebody said they don't have a replacement parts. I always thought that's would be great if they have parts sold separately because the problems turn up with the parts every time, not the main motor part. It has quite good suction power and I loved it. Hope I will find it somewhere again

Great little vac & so cheap – I purchased my Abode 2 in 1 3 years ago, and it still goes strong. I know when to empty it, as the suction lessons. Cleaned out it picks up everything strongly. The only problem is the floor piece has no brushes, so cat fur sticks to carpet, and is not easy to suck up without brushes to separate it from the carpet. Apart from that it is the best… Read more

(& amazingly, the cheapest) vacuum cleaner I have ever bought. No pipes or hoses to block up. easy to clean, and I love it. I need To replace a couple of parts eg filters. How do I do this as Target do not have yr product any more? Thx.

Good for hard floors...not cordless though! – This is a lightweight, CORDED vacuum that is brilliant on hard floors. It will work on carpet, but not an intense suction. You will still need to use your proper vacuum cleaner for carpets once a week or so. I bought this not realising it wasn't cordless, hence the bold above. But that was my fault for making assumptions. The cord is a little short, so I've added an extension lead. Easy to empty.

Agree .. Great vac and crap after sales service – Every thing about these vacs is great except for one thing. You can't buy a new filter and the staff online and I store are absolutely pathetic. They just shuffle you around and every member online or head office just pass the buck. Great vac and crap service

Powerful, light and easy to use – Love, love this little machine. Great for clearing up after the grandchildren and for all the dropped cotton in my craft room. Loved it so much I bought another one for my daughter in law.

This really sucks! (in a good way) – I read the reviews and decided this might be just what I was looking for; and I must say, I love this little thing - super-light and manoeuvrable for in between/quick cleans. An amazing little vacuum for the price.

Thought I had a great buy – My little vac was really good.I used it as a main vac as I only have a small unit.Came with spare filter so after a while needed new filters only to find you can't buy any.In fact Big w now have a different vac like this for $69 .Don't stocksc861 anymore. There is nothing wrong with vac but I can't use it without new filter.Obviously you just are suppose to throw it away. Not Happy Big W rip off.

Great little vacuum cleaner – I love this vacuum cleaner because it is light and easy to use. Ideal as a 2nd vacuum cleaner and for cleaning in between or for quick vacuuming of small carpet area. It has great suction for a great price. I think I paid $39 at Big W.

Lived up to its reviews – I saw this $48 hand held stick vacuum and dust buster in 1 at BigW and wasn't sure whether it would be any good. I read the earlier reviews and went ahead and purchased 1 week ago. Have used it twice and very happy. It does a good job in the bathroom for a quick pick of dust etc and also very good vacuum for an upstairs area with wooden floors.… Read more ·  1

This is a great second vacuum cleaner. If the head had different settings for carpet and hard surfaces it would be even better. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. Reliable; good value; good design for easy storage; mains power gives it real suction ability

Just Buy One! – Wow! This little vacuum is a mini wonder. I needed a vacuum for our new house, after having a ducted one before. It needed to be lightweight, as I have just had surgery on my hand and the other will be operated on shortly. The flooring is wood, with carpeted bedrooms, which will be changed to wood, also. I cannot believe how strong the suction… Read more ·  1

is on this little wonder.

It is so easy to empty, as well.

You would probably need a regular vacuum cleaner to do a proper clean if you have a lot of carpets, but for quick once overs, this is excellent.

I love the colour, too!

I cannot praise this little vacuum highly enough. Just buy one. Only $29 at Big W. Lightweight. Strong suction. Tiny price. Nothing.

abode 2 in 1 stick – after reading reviews on stick vac's I hit the shops, only to go through an hour of demo's from that leading vac shop, and not impressed in what I saw at all, the cheapest on offer was $199. and not good. so off I go to Big W to have a look at this one i had very low expectations on what the quality would be like for a vacuum this cheap ($38), but… Read more ·  4

decided it didn't look any cheaper than the $199 one, home I go with my new purchase and all I can say is this is like a dust buster on steroids, good features gets into everywhere, don't be turned off by no brushes it really works brilliant especially on hard floors, obviously it's not going to deep clean carpets, but as a in between clean you can't go wrong. light weight, and unbelievable suction,

Excellent lightweight vacuum – This is the budget Big W stick vacuum and for just $28 it does an outstanding job. I bought it for our upstairs bedroom and stairs and it hasn't let me down. You really can't ask for more - it's a stick vacuum that converts into a dustbuster, has great suction, and is light weight. This would be a perfect vac for elderly people, students or just… Read more ·  5

A little ripper – This is such a little cutie-light weight and easy and quick to wizz around for a last minute clean. It has a very strong suction and gets into all the hard to get at places. Not a rechargeable one which I prefer as the batteries don't last long and are expensive to replace. Light and easy to use....  Show 3 replies
