Only had for a month or so and am impressed with it. Only reason why i didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that it cannot cope with long dog hair unless used on "Boost" mode. Our dog is a Golden Retriever. And i believe it should come with a spare… Read more ·  1

Dyson was known for quality products, but recent products dropped in quality. The V15 at $1,000 is an example where one should seriously consider buying another vacuum stick than a Dyson. The bin design is an absolute joke. Within a month the bottom ring seal will break loose as it scrapes against another rubber with every cleaning. The bin… Read more

door rubber double folds creating a fold that renders this vacuum cleaner useless. The handle is still not ergonomic. Within 15 minutes one hands start cramping holding this heavy vacuum head with a poorly designed handle. The wands got a seal that’s glued on that pulls loose after 6 months. The bin is difficult to clean and removing it from the machine didn’t consider simplicity. This product must be one of the worst designs Dyson could bring to the market.

So easy to manoeuvre on the staircase. Pet brush works great on steps has great performance. Sucks out all the fine dust and impurities. crevasses. Best to use on all levels of power not just full force it won’t last the hour otherwise. Use wisely it is a really good vacuum at half price. I wouldn’t pay top price for it. But gets the job done. The next up market one was only $ 100 more on sale but weight was an issue for me I preferred the lighter one and slightly smaller bin. Personal point of view . Otherwise get the heavier one it’s the top of range but is definitely heavier if you are up and down stairs. It also compresses dust in its bigger bin.

The Dyson V15 superseded the V11 Outsize as Dyson’s most powerful vacuum (220AW vs 240AW) in 2021. While boasting some flashy improvements, the V15 stays true to many of the V11 things we loved. While slightly heavier than a standard V11, it is much lighter than the V11 Outsize (Dyson’s former flagship vac.) V15 vs V11 COMMONALITIES Both have… Read more ·  1

click in batteries (1 hour of power), 3 power modes, the interchangeable purple HEPA filters, anti screw tool and general tools, chargers, wall brackets, wands (excluding the Detect Complete variant) and the bin size. The V11Outsize comes with a bigger filter, 150% bigger bin, 25% bigger floor head and different fitting wand.

V15 vs V11 MAIN DIFFERENCES

POWER A V11 Advanced has 200AW (a V15 Detect Absolute has 240AW.) A standard V11 is supremely impressive for power and easy handling. A V15 also handles beautifully, offering more power and more customised cleaning options (see below.)

AUTO MODE While both vacuums share the same power modes, on the V15, selecting Medium mode will trigger Auto Mode. The machine automatically adapts to the floor type and changes to Eco mode (e.g., hard floors), Medium or Boost (e.g. larger debris, fine dust, carpets). A V11 requires manual adjustment between modes unless you have the high torque motorhead with the adjustable manual gate. The latest V11 motorbar version does not feature this, although you do get hair detangle vanes.

PARTICLE COUNTER The Dyson V15 series displays, sorts and numbers allergens; impressive but scary reading, but thankfully the solution is partly in your hands.

HEADS (A) The V11's old quick release turbine head has been updated to the V15's anti tangle screw version. (B) Not all V11's feature an extra head for hard floors such as Dyson's fluffy roller head. The V11 range only offers this on the Absolute variant. In direct comparison, all V15 variants do offer a second floor head; the V15's fluffy roller for hard floors features a class 1 laser for illuminating and capturing fine dust particles. As good as the original fluffy head is (I use one everyday for home cleaning) the V15's fluffy laser detect head is superior; lighter, slimmer and with all the pick up power of the original. (C) Additionally, the latest V11 shares the same motorbar as the V7, V8, V,10 and V12; also featuring hair detangling vanes, it's an astute performer, but isn't as smooth as the V15 digital motorbar and lacks an adjustable gate (includes (+ / -- settings.)

CAN I JUST USE THE DIGITAL MOTORBAR FOR ALL FLOORS INSTEAD?

Yes; and pick up power is awesome with the adjustable gate, meaning very little escapes the Dyson jaw. However, see below…

5 REASONS TO USE BOTH HEADS

1/The slim fluffy head is lighter and easier to push around in tight spots, giving you better handling and manoeuvrability. 2/That same lower profile mean you pick up even more of the bad stuff on hard floors. 3/The digital motorbar does not have a laser; meaning if you are on hard floors, you can see invisible fine dust, water that shouldn’t be picked up etc. 4/The slim fluffy head saves you valuable battery time in eco mode (read on). 5/Specifically designed for hard floors, it is safer to use with its fluffy strip and nylon roller.

PRICE (RRP)

V11 Advanced: $1199 V11 Absolute: $1199 (Not currently available) V15 Detect Absolute $1449 V15 Detect Complete: (Not currently available) Dyson engineering and performance results in dearer prices. However, there are constant sales at Dyson and retailers. Look out for exclusives / offers if you buy from Dyson direct, and be sure to register to get an extra year on the warranty. Dyson are pricy, yes, but they look after their customers and offer serious value for money. I would have never survived as a professional cleaner without my Dyson’s and this inspired me to continually improve in all areas; surface vacuuming, fan blades, sills, pet stations, fabric couches, inside cupboards and so on.

VS CARPETS, PETS AND HAIR

This cordless wonder has the power to grace and groom carpets effortlessly, via 3 power modes that intelligently adapt to your floor type (and a manual gate adjustment to further fine tune your clean.) The digital motorbar multi-floor cleaning head (phew) comes in its latest and greatest format yet; bombarding dirty rugs and carpets with illustrious power, they physically look fresher and cleaner. The 56 hair detangling vanes (for households with long hair and pets) are also great, eliminating the need for constant cleaning. Man, it almost makes you want to vacuum, helping you burn valuable calories in the process!

TARGETING ALLERGENS

The whole HEPA filtration purple filter stays. If you suffer from allergens and want a healthier and more hygienic home, peace of mind comes in knowing ‘the purple one’ removes up to 99.9% of ultra fine particles to 0.3 microns. This can include; —Pollen —Dust mites —Skin flakes —Mould spores —Particles the size of some bacteria. Be tappy happy (tap top of filter when emptying the bin and the filter itself) as this machine picks up a ferocious amount of the bad stuff. Do this ideally outside or away from your body and consider a mask also. Furthermore, the HEPA filtration is great for the home and the health of those cleaning and those you are cleaning for, churning out HEPA filtered clean air once catching all the bad stuff.

V15 DETECT COMPLETE VS ABSOLUTE

Interestingly, the wand on the Detect Complete version is shorter and has a built in crevice tool / brush, while the more traditional satin wand on this and other Dyson V15 models offers a longer reach (665mm)-- ideal if you are taller. Depending on your height and whether or not you would prefer less tools to store, its a tantalising option. Another cool extra feature of the Detect Complete variant that champions good health is a turquoise HEPA filter (removing 99.7% of ultra fine particles down to 0.1 microns, from pet dander to diesel soot). So if you simply want to remove more allergens and go for gold (coincidentally, the colour) then this is a better bet. You can also purchase this filter for extra, as it is compatible with all V15 and some V11 variants. The Complete variant adds gold to the wand, brush bars and cyclone, compared to the classic Dyson yellow nickel (cyclone) and iron (wand). The Complete also adds several extra accessories such as a flexible car crevice tool and a swivel tool for lower and higher reach areas. Dyson stock of gold variants can be limited however, so while this is an incredible machine, if looks are a factor in your purchase keep that in mind and check with Dyson before buying.

DYSON V15 DETECT COMPLETE REVIEW

STOP PRESS…

…Use the laser head in eco mode on some hard floors and you can achieve 70+ mins. Some reports claim (and I have witnessed) up to 80mins, but keep in mind this may apply only to the surface in question. Other hard floor types maybe more demanding to clean and you have to allow up to 30 seconds for information to change. Auto mode gives you up to 60mins while Boost mode gives you up to 6 minutes of intensive cleaning. Dyson has brilliantly optimised your battery life, ridding you of the need to manually select boost mode (max power on V6, 7 and 8) as Auto will boost as and when needed.

CONCLUSION

If you have hard floors, every V15 is equipped with Dyson’s best ever fluffy slim detect head. Slimmer and lighter, as fine dust is a big issue and invisible to the naked eye, the laser head detects and contains this. Some people will only be interested in using the digital motorbar for all floors which is fine, but in doing this, please note; —You will not be able to see fine dust —Your machine will feel slightly heavier and not as free moving —Battery time varies depending on the floor type and floor head you use, plus the mode you are in (Auto and Boost will change the total time.) Dyson have worked hard to customise your experience and save your battery, but if you have no desire to use extra floor heads, a medium sized home or mainly carpets, for this reason a V11 may be worth considering. However, while the V11 is powerful, the extra 40AW of power makes the V15 the better option. I can tell you that in a 3 storey large home with many thick carpets, a V15 is a much better choice. The deal sealer is that you will love the digital motorbar; it moves effortlessly and is really clever, powerful tech. The V11 motorbar is a good choice and matches pet hair problems with its detangle combs, but it is second best. The real battle comes between V15 variants. It also will be, for some, a better choice than the Detect Complete variant and the Gen 5 due to weight, wand and ability to use in handheld mode, as the Gen 5's supreme 70 minute battery is physically greater (longer) in size. Wand wise, those who prefer a little more reach, look no further (check out the photos to compare.) Hopefully a power button is next, as if I could ‘pimp my Dyson’, this (complete with a turquoise filter) would be my ultimate combo! Health and allergen sufferers will prefer a V15 Detect Complete due to the premium filter although you can buy the filter from Dyson separately. You may also want the extra tools this machine offers to bring this factor to other areas such as under couches, tops of cupboards or in your car. Ultimately, whatever variant you pick, this is a vacuum that will very much change the way you think about hoovering your home.

Great all rounder for floors, carpets, rugs and tackling allergens – The Dyson V15 DC is true champ and perfect for pet owners. Notably more powerful than the mighty V11, it handles beautifully. Second, Dyson's finest HEPA filtration ensures you and your home are protected against the nastiest allergens, from viruses to dust mites. The turquoise filter is the daddy as it captures more harmful particles on a… Read more ·  1

microscopic level than the standard big purple one. Tying in with this, the slim laser head detects and eliminates fine dust and larger debris on hard floors. This specialised head isn't a gimmick; its an asset.

To see it in action on hard floors, check out my video link: https://youtube.com/shorts/RZmGeoaenhw?feature=shared

The digital motorbar captures carpet dirt relentlessly and groom carpets for good measure, too. It's anti tangle comb is also a great feature for pet hair, saving you having to untangle manually like on older Dyson's. The bin is an upgrade from smaller Dyson's, and the wand has a built in crevice tool. The Auto mode (which intelligently adapts to your floor) protects your 1 hour battery and saves you having to virtually ever manually select Boost. Max power abusers, take note as this could be the money shot... In Eco (1 of 3 power modes) you can go over 70 mins. There are some negatives; wheels can come off with regular use and one wrong move and they aren't replaceable like Dyson V6-V12 wheels. Also, the cyclone protection ribbon damages all too easy alon all Dyson's, and it particularly suffers on this and the Gen 5. While lacking an extra 10 minutes battery power (and a power button) of the flagship Gen 5, crucially for most, it's lighter, and while not as powerful, powerful enough to go above and beyond expectations.

Feature review I was in real trouble with my partner swooping for this (Dyson’s Black Friday sales can be tough on the wallet, but thankfully, also for the floors :) Moving on from the much loved V11 Outsize would be a hard act to follow. Thankfully, I did my research and the V15 —particularly in the Detect Complete complete format— is now the ‘go to’ vacuum for me (and my partner—she loves it!) Just as an FYI, this was also bought direct from Dyson, which meant I landed the floor dok for free.

A true workhorse, the V15 is a favourite for the following reasons: —Incredible power + flexibility for whatever floor, rug or carpet I’m cleaning; floors simply look great and fresher after use. — For allergy sufferers (mould, mites, pet hair, dust etc), the HEPA filter is dynamite. It traps 99.7% of all these nasties down to 0.1 microns, then puts out HEPA filtered air. Standard V15 Purple HEPA filters will do a great job also, capturing 99.9% of allergens down to 0.3 microns. —You can see what needs cleaning; The laser head (for hard floors, tiles etc) makes all that nasty (invisible) fine dust visible so you can see and rid of it. With a lower profile, it is lighter and gets into more awkward places. For clean freaks, this is truly next level. —In Auto mode, the machine adjusts to the floor type or dirt level. For example, if on a floor or carpet that is very dirty or dusty, it will go into boost mode. —The floor heads for carpets are very impressive, as they have all the cleaning power of previous Dyson heads with a gate (+ / - ) to increase or decrease intensity. It also glides to save the extra weight, which is mega cool to put it lightly! — Removing pet or human hair is doddle for this Dyson, with anti tangle combs within the digital motorbar. This also features on the anti screw tool, which is great for cars, couches or pet stations. It is trickier to clean, but gently prising out any trapped debris with a narrow tool usually does the job. —The click-in battery takes the drama out of removal, and you can buy a spare if you choose. Charging time is 4.5 hours, but with an hour of power, you don’t have to obsess over constantly charging. Plus, with up to 70 minutes in Eco mode depending on the type of attachment used (which is often good enough performance wise), you won’t be tempted to keep switching to Boost. Flick it to Auto and the machine will do it for ya; smart and efficient to save you less stress and get more vacuuming done.

Rather than a standard aluminium wand common to most Dyson's and the V15 range, this version also has (from the Gen 5 series) the built in wand crevice tool and brush, plus a snazzy gold finish. Just so it’s extra hot, the floor head roller and cyclone top also is golden, making it look as good as it performs.

While I don’t have pets, I work professionally in homes with lots of dogs and cats, so my Dysons get a proper weekly work out. Keeping this in mind for large, dusty homes, big families and/or places with pets, this works the V15 hard, so be proactive in ensuring you remove hair and blockages. For example, check fluff hasn’t circulated around the rollers on the inside of your motorbar and clear to avoid damage to your brushbar or motor, and clear wrapped around hair for smooth movement on your laser detect head. Tweezers are a great way to clear this and some small scissors or a penknife for hair on the smaller wheels.

With power comes sacrifice, so be realistic; for example, if you use it on wafer thin rugs, you will have to go in eco mode and set the gate to -. Also, the filter will need cleaning more often (which the digital display will alert you to) but you can be proactive and tap both the filter and the top of the cyclone when emptying the bin to minimise disruption. Once you are aware of this and provided you are happy with the trigger and the weight (Dyson do have lighter or power button options) this vacuum is a dream performer.n action

Amazing vacuum - daily use – I bought the Dyson V15 to replace my Dyson DC45 that was getting old and needed to be replaced. I had it about 8 years and had always been happy with it. suspicions to get a new vacuum! I use the V15 daily and it still has great suction and picks up a lot. It was meant to be a quick daily vacuum but it has even replaced my corded vacuum as it does such a great job. The filter needs to be cleaned every so often and this does help with maintaining the machine. I absolutely love the tangle free head, I was constantly removing hair and dog hair from the DC45 but I have not had to remove hair once from the V15, has saved me so much time. My mum was so impressed by my vacuum she bought herself one the next day! Definitely worth it and highly recommend.

  Ambassador Review V15 Detect

Extremely Versatile, With Plenty of Grunt – Background The Dyson V15 Detect proved itself to be of quite some interest to my wife, who considers herself somewhat of an expert and connoisseur of vacuum cleaners. She owns six heavy duty vacuum cleaners - two Bosch ones, one Electrolux, one Shark and two Dysons - since we live in a large multi-storey, multi-living area, five-bedroom house with… Read more

a Ragdoll cat that sheds an unbelievable amount of white fur everywhere. My wife finds it is easier for her to have vacuum cleaners around the various house zones, rather than lugging them around everywhere. She also has two stick vacuum cleaners for quick jobs - a Dyson V6 and a Kogan one.

Till recently, my wife had always considered her Bosch Free'E as her best vacuum cleaner. The Dyson upright vacuum cleaner DC14 and Dyson Barrel DC24 had about as much suction power as her Bosch, but she found the upright DC14 heavy and a tad awkward to use. My wife has long blonde hair, which provided another nuisance when using the Dyson upright cleaner, as her hair would frequently get caught up in the roller, and she would have to spend some time getting it off the roller. After a back operation which put her out of action for a while, she had a number of house cleaners come around to help her, and all three agreed that the Bosch Free'E was one of the best they'd ever used too - which is a high recommendation given they are using numerous vacuum cleaners all day long.

Initial Appraisal. At first glance, my wife was astounded by all the accessories that came with the Dyson V15. Some of their equivalents she had previously had to go and buy separately for her Dyson DC14. The Dyson V15 plainly was the Delux version.

My wife then used her Bosch vacuum on our rugs to get them as clean as possible. Then she used the Dyson V15 with the standard wide attachment ......which promptly picked up a stack of pet hair from our Ragdoll cat that the Bosch had failed to collect, and which she knew her other Dysons wouldn't have picked up either.

Then she proceeded to vacuum around the house, and it became immediately apparent that the battery was holding its charge for a whole lot longer than her other rechargeable vacuums. It really could do quite a number of rooms before needing a recharge (and after an hour of vacuuming - she needed a rest anyway).

Printed Instructions. Maybe Dyson is into saving trees? The instructions that came with the V15 are the most concise we've ever seen, on two sides of a single sheet of paper. They explain function and the attachments with the utmost brevity. True, using the V15 is pretty straight forward and intuitive, but most instructions try to give you an idea of what a great machine you've bought and how well it will work in various applications.

Features/ Pros. 1. As far as my wife is concerned, the V15 is better vacuum cleaner suction-wise than her older Bosch, Electrolux and Dyson units, though not quite as good as her Shark Duo. However, the latter is an unfair comparison given that the V15 uses a rechargeable battery versus the mains powered and heavier Shark unit. The V15's performance is outstanding for a rechargeable battery vacuum cleaner (see attached video of V15 with standard head on rug).

2. The power controls are easy to use, having an Auto-mode for most usage, an Economy-mode to get the most run time out of it for light cleans, and a Boost-mode for heavy spot cleaning.

3. We could not really do justice to assessing the unit's Laser Cleaner Head attachment for spotting dust on timber flooring - because we don't have any, other than on our stairs. But it is plainly a very neat feature which my wife wishes she had had at her old places (see attached videos of Laser Cleaner Head in use on tiled floor and on stairs).

4. For cleaning stairs, my wife thinks the V15 cannot be beaten. It is so much easier to use the V15 on stairs than when using a corded vacuum cleaner on them (see attached video of stair cleaning).

5. Similarly, for getting rid of spiders and spider webs, the V15 makes it a cinch compared to using most corded vacuum cleaners (see attached videos using two cleaner attachments).

6. While my wife was extremely impressed with the performance of the standard wide High Torque Cleaner Head for picking up pet hair, the performance of the smaller Hair Screw Tool for picking up pet hair from pet beds and sofas, was even more outstanding (see attached video of cleaning our cat's small mat).

7. When used as a duster without the long barrel attached, the V15 is remarkably handy for cleaning bits of soot that comes out from our wood heater, and for cleaning the dust that inevitably accumulates on the TV/entertainment unit adjacent to it (see attached videos).

8. Similarly, used in the latter short length mode, it did a good job of cleaning our air conditioning unit (see attached video), and is really excellent for easily cleaning the inside of one's car.

9. One's favourite extra tool can be attached to the long barrel to carry around for instant use, while cleaning around the house with the standard head.

10. My wife found it remarkably easy to then get rid of the collected dust from the dust container.

11. Significantly, no long hair seemed to get stuck in the rollers of the various vacuum heads.

12. The Bosch vacuum cleaner which had previously been my wife's favourite one, required single-use dust collection bags for its operation. These were very expensive in Australia for what they were, and I was buying them from the UK to reduce the expense. That's not an issue with the V15.

13. Noting that some of the videos don't really do the V15 justice in terms of demonstrating its suction power, I've attached a video of the cleaning an outside mat, which I regularly walk over with work shoes and grass. It does a great job.

14. The other main benefit of the V15 for my wife, is just being able to walk around the house and cleaning something that needs cleaning anywhere - the ceiling, a wall, something on the floor - as opposed to using a bigger vacuum cleaner which is hard to drag around, and sometimes impossible to reach where the V15 easily reaches.

Cons. 1. Even though it is relatively light, the unit still has to be carried, which is always going to be heavier doing a big vacuuming job than just lifting the cord of a barrel vacuum cleaner, or pushing an upright vacuum cleaner around. Thus it might not suit the more frail or those with some medical conditions like severe arthritis.

On the other hand, it is much easier carrying the V15 up and down stairs than a typical mains powered vacuum cleaner - which might actually suit the more frail more.

2. The V15 is a rechargeable vacuum cleaner, so obviously it can't be used for many hours the way a mains powered cleaner can. Someone with a really big house won't be able to clean the entire house on a single recharge. But, at say 10 to 15 minutes a room, the V15 should easily be able to do a small house or flat, and a fair chunk of a big house.

Conclusion. My wife is of the opinion that the V15 is the most versatile vacuum cleaner she has ever had, with better grunt than most of her older mains powered cleaners.

Regards.

P.S. - I have attached a picture of our long-haired cat which does all the shedding.

It is very good on the stairwell and floors definitely at the sale price and all the attachments it’s a go to . It makes light of housework. Looking forward to using the other attachments. Very happy. Trigger happy. Easier to manoeuvre than the top one that is heavier and no trigger. Even Pablo ( cat) likes it.

We had a 'traditional' barrel vacuum cleaner for many years, but that brand now only makes commercial cleaners. It was a Nilfisk and it was made in Denmark. yellow Nilfisk. They'd get blocked, lose suction, they were weak and impractical. It seemed like there was no solution. We tried a 'Drememe' or something or such, but it was terrible, the Samsung was good, but very pricey! So we bought this a few weeks ago and we have our new Nilfisk! It's just that it's called a Dyson now. (Sorry Nilfisk, I know Dyson came along thirty years ago and had better marketing, but it turns out their products are actually really good.) The V15 we got was about five hundred dollars off when all the discounts were applied. We bought it from the actual Dyson online store and delivery was really quick. I think their headquarters are in Taren Point. It's really satisfying to see the dust and hair with the green laser and it even highlights dust when the lights are on or when there's sunlight on the floor - very impressive and not the gimmick I thought it would be at all. We're a hairy, neolithic-style family and we all have long or longish hair, we also have a dog and the dustbin on the V15 fills up with a satisfying amount of hair, dust, sand and parmesan cheese when we've cooked Italian or when Hunter Biden needs a pick me up. We have a mix of hard floor and carpet in our house, so the different attachments for each different type of floor make it very effective. I was shocked by how much fine dirt and sand we had in our carpet after such a long time without a decent vacuum cleaner. There's still a ton under there, but we'll just have to keep working with te V15 to get it all up. I have no doubt it can do it. The hair screw attachment is small, but effective, however, I find that the laser detection head for hard floors does a fine job with all the hair regardless, so I don't use the hair screw much. I use the 'crevice' tool as well, but that's private... I also use it on the bathroom floor and the laundry floor and both have tiles. It works great and gets all the fine dust up from the dryer and all the hair on the bathroom floor, because we're disgusting. Just make sure the floors are totally dry before you vacuum them though, otherwise your machine will suck up water, start buzzing and become self-aware and either try to kill you, or help you with your love life. But don't try to lean it against a wall because it will slide down and hit the floor very hard (battery first). Ouch! I did that once and I thought it would be broken for sure. It wasn't, but please don't do that, lie it flat or hang it on the provided wall hanger/charger thingy. It's easy to empty the bin and you don't have to come into contact with the dust. However, I would recommend you avoid emptying in the kitchen or office bin, because the dust will kick up and re-circulate. This is the one disadvantage these machines have against a bagged vacuum. I just go outside to our council bins and dispose of the dust there. The cleaning routine is necessary and annoying, sure. But it's pretty easy to clean the filters and Dyson have very helpful videos on their website, insta and Youtube for all that. I'd avoid Bosch, who make great dishwashers, dryers and ovens (we have all Bosch for our appliances, which is why we bought a Bosch vac). The Drememeeme machines just seem like cheap and cheerful knock offs and the one we tried was flimsy, complicated to use and didn't have great performance. Also, why reward a company that has no original thinking? I mean as Gob Bluth would say: "Come on!" So yah, I'd buy one of these if you have a medium to large home, need the convenience of the wall hanger (pictured in my office and no, I'm not going to get up to take of photo of the actual vac, because it's on the other side of the house at the moment and I couldn't be bothered, thank you very much). Anyway, that's my final paper for the semester and I would like to commend it to you Professor in the hope that you will consider me for the Oxford Rhodes Scholarship for 2026.

Yours sincerely, Miles Bennett Dyson, AI engineer and lead developer on the SkyNet Defense System for Cyberdyne Systems (SAC-NORAD)...

I have spent thousands of dollars on Dyson Products, but the quality of the products claimed by Dyson is poor, and it is a sales and marketing trick. My house is a graveyard of expensive Dyson products. I am attaching pictures below. Today I called them for the Dyson V15 machine, for which I paid almost 1300$ on sale 2.5 years ago. It has stopped… Read more ·  1

working. I called the help desk and they suggested that, after the fault detection, I need a spare part which will cost 500$. They can offer me a discounted price of $200 because my machine is 6 months out of warranty.

This is Dyson quality that I can buy by bankrupting myself.

In the pictures, the only thing that is working is the Dyson Ball Vacuum, but it also has a poor-quality bin, which I have to be extra careful with while emptying because the latch is of inferior quality and has a tendency to open.

I had had enough of Dyson, and guys, don't be fooled by them. I am one of their fool.

This is the most amazing Vacuum that I have ever brought. Well worth the investment. Its light to use and every powerful. Has various suction settings. Good quality. Highly recommended. Show details ·  1

Follow-up  · Maintenance is easy, just a matter of washing out the filter. It lets you know when your filter needs cleaning. Everything is designed perfectly in mind for the user. Has three power settings for suction, the most powerful Boost for any deep carpet clean.

Very happy. Easy to use, does a great job and handles pet fur just fine. The light on the front of the hard surface head really helps identify the worst areas that need vacuuming. Easy to use, clean, maintain and came with an spare swappable battery. Show details ·  1

After a previous problematic V15, Dyson replaced the item (out of warrantee) and the new vacuum has been operating fault free for 7 months. Thanks Dyson. I have always had prompt and courteous contact over issues and orders for many years, and this was my 3rd Dyson in 25 years. Excellent response to my problem - they had already replaced many faulty parts, but problems continued. Show reply

V15 is fantastic, the laser is awesome to have. I'm also amazed by how good their customer service is. My battery's capacity down to 45% after almost 3 years use. Chat with them online, no hazzle and sent me a new one in 7 days. Show reply

Absolutely disappointed with Dyson, it used to be worthwhile to pay high prices for Dyson vacuum cleaners, but not anymore, do not make the same mistake I made purchasing this brand a brought the V15 detect absolute at Harvey Norman here at the Bundall store in the Gold Coast, paid 1500 dollars for it and the brush case started to brake into… Read more

pieces as I was vacuuming the Unit, it was just the second time I was using the very frail ready to brake stick vacuum cleaner, then the dust bin lock broke, Dyson sent a replacement but the point is that to pay a high price for any Dyson product is a big mistake, I got the Dyson big ball vacum cleaner and a hair straightener too, it is a no no the quality of Dyson is very questionable now, and big disappointment

I had a Dyson V10 for many years and it was excellent. I then decided to not purchase and replace parts on it and purchased the V15 $1100 worst thing I ever did. It had the floor clean accessorie which only runs dirty water on your floor. The head on the V15 stopped working so I had to put my V10 head on this vacuum. Now it runs and stops and runs… Read more

and stop and runs and stops after a few seconds then it will eventually run. I hate this vacuum and will not buy another Dyson now they are not reliable anymore :(

I have only had this vacuum a year and 6 months roughly but been a nightmare after 6 months. I emailed Dyson to ask why it runs and stops etc they never replied.

Extremely Disappointed — $1200 Dyson Failed in Under 3 Years, No Support I purchased a Dyson vacuum for $1200 expecting a high-quality, durable appliance. Unfortunately, it stopped working properly just under 3 years later — only one year out of warranty. I took it to an authorised repair centre and was quoted nearly half the cost of a new unit… Read more

just to fix it.

I contacted Dyson customer service expecting some goodwill support or recognition of their responsibility under Australian Consumer Law, which protects consumers even after the warranty period if a product hasn't lasted a reasonable time. Their response? No help. Just pay for the replacement part. Yes a discount was offered on the part but they were still asking hundreds of dollars.

For a product at this price point, this is simply unacceptable. I’m now lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading, as I believe this product has not met the durability standards expected under the law — and I’m extremely disappointed that Dyson refuses to stand behind its premium brand promise

I purchased this product in June 2021. I have had 2 previous Dyson vacuums (both barrel) which absolutely no problems, one of them is still going strong 16 years later. The V15 was double the price of the barrel Dyson, and is constantly failing. The V15 has had nothing but problems. Feb 2022: Power Unit replaced; Sept 2023 Body replaced; May… Read more

2024 battery replaced, April 2025 Body replaced again. While Dyson support have replaced all by the latest body replacement free of charge, and discounted the 2025 Body replacement, it's not acceptable to have a machine that just doesn't perform as it should without constant parts failure. I love the convenience of a stick vacuum, but will certainly be cautious about what to replace this one with when the inevitable next part failure occurs. I am so disappointed with Dyson and their stick vacuums are clearly not of any useful standard. This machine should have been totally replaced.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing! – I was using another brand of vacuum and I felt it wasn't doing what I was led to believe so I bit the bullet and bought the latest Dyson...., I could not believe just how much this Dyson could pull from my carpets! I am absolutely delighted with it and I will never go back for a cheaper brand again! I would not have believed the amount of dirt,… Read more ·  1

LEMON or NOT – I have mixed feelings about my Dyson V15. I bought it directly through Dyson so I would not have any 3rd party warranty issues, this worked out very well. The problem is firstly the vacuum head was faulty and replaced, then the motor unit was faulty and replaced and then the battery only lasted 2 months and was replaced. So basically through… Read more ·  1

warranty issues I have a brand new V15 "again" Two things came out of this, firstly I obviously got one of the rare "LEMONS" from the factory and secondly the Dyson warranty process works brilliantly. One thing I am happy about and that was buying it from Dyson directly!!!

Not too fussed! – Overall disappointed!! Shopping for the perfect vacuum is a challenge at best. I wanted a Miele like my current one, I've had it for 23 years, and still works well. I wanted an upgrade, But, looking around I didn't like the quality of what I saw. I wanted to treat myself. So after reading the reviews I went for a Dyson V15. It has great ratings &… Read more

I like the look of the Dyson, great colours, & it looks slick. Everyone has one, So, it must be good. I Like how it has anti tangle comb & the laser light Accessory. Easy to clean, and easy to use. BUT, It cuts out when I go over my cow hide (short hair), and the rug in my office (see photos). I also have a red shag pile in my lounge, and I wont go anywhere near that one! This is meant to do wooden floors as well as carpets. I watch the videos to make sure I understood all I needed to do to get going. I was excited it's cordless. I'm looking forward to going up/down the stairs without a battle of cords. It's great going under my chest of draws the way it swivels, but it did not go under my bed - (1 inch moving room). Please design a part that will allow me to clean under my bed? because at this price I expect the best($1000). I really wanted this to work but having it for a couple of weeks - I'm becoming more disappointed :( I want one vacuum to do it all Carpets (long hair), wooden floors & cleaning under beds. Maybe you could design another foot that will aloud me to clean my carpets without cutting out! Plus, the awkward gap tool to have firm brushes on it, as it scraps along the skirting boards making a really bad scratching sound. The laser light is a fantastic idea. When I used it, it was after I vacuum my floor. Then went back with the laser foot, and it kick in "WOW" brilliant idea. Cheers Debb

Improvement needed – It is doing a great cleaning job, picking up a lot of debris. However the build quality should be better considering the price tag. Another annoying thing you have to constantly hold the button, this design is not ergonomical. Show details ·  1

Love it! Definitely recommend – I bought this one as I wanted to invest in a good quality cordless vacuum, I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s brilliant. It lasts long enough for me to vacuum the whole house. I use it on carpets, wooden floors and tiles and never had any issues. I have 2 kids who are super messy and a cat that loses lots of fur, and it cleans it up… Read more ·  1

perfectly. I love that it has different modes, and gives you info on the things it picks up. It is however quite expensive, so you really have to invest, but I definitely recommend it!

STICKER SHOCK....STICKER SHOCK – WOW ...just WOW! The initial reaction to the pricing of a Dyson is apparently quite common. This plastic fantastic costs way more than my first car did.. In summary, so far it works and it works very well. It is quiet, easy to empty and the battery has a good amount of run time. Its just such a leap of faith to buy a vacuum that weighs a few kilograms for north of $1000.00. Show details ·  1

Dyson V15 Detect Absolute – I purchased a Dyson V15 Detect Absolute recently. I have wooden floors & it does an amazing job. The only things I would like Dyson to consider in the future - are I would have liked a power trigger that stays on as I do get a slight redness on my finger for holding down ( I tend to clean the whole house at once & that takes around 40 mins). is quite heavy - I am in my 60's. I would recommend this vacuum cleaner as I love the laser, the purified air flow, easy to use, the fluffy head is great & easy to clean (can Dyson make it all purple next time?), easy to empty, & the battery is long lasting. Would definitely recommend.

Not value for money. $1,500 AUD for three years – Only lasted three years. Was repaired under warranty and the filter replaced under warranty as well. Continually blocks - up to six times during a one hour vacuuming session. Hopeless. I had to use two filters in that time also. Wash after every use. I have a clean home with one indoor cat. Dyson wants to charge me to service it. No way! Money down the drain. Also it is quite heavy - probably the weight of the battery. Show details
