No more going back and forth over the carpet again and again, this vacuum does it on the first go!! It has amazing suction power in eco and auto mode, I haven't needed to use the boost mode yet. I've used this vacuum on my bedroom, living room and surrounding floors everyday for the past week and I haven't had to recharge it yet - the battery is strong and long lasting!

We brought the V15 Dyson stick about 6 months ago and it works a treat. It has an electronic screen that counts your dust (not exactly sure why someone would want to count the dust particles in their house though) - but it does do the job. It automatically adjusts depending if you are picking up big dust or little dust so it saves battery life. It only works hard when it needs to. I also have changed my vacuuming routine and vacuum in the dark at night. This sounds rather weird but this is when the green laser light works best and you can see e...

This vacuum is by far one of the best appliances in the house. Dyson vacuums are hands down the best value for money. I remember once I bought something off a competitor and it really was one of the biggest regrets that I've ever had in my purchasing life.
If Dyson keep making amazing vacuums like this I will never purchase from another brand ever again

The Dyson V15 sucks in a good way!
I done a test when I first got the Dyson V15 where I first vacuumed with my old Shark vacuum and straight after I used the Dyson V15 and the results were disgusting. The amount of dirt, dust, hair and other gross things the Dyson V15 picked up that my other vacuum missed was scary.
- Excellent suction
- Easy to empty dust bin
- Laser on soft roller is NOT just a gimmick and is actually very helpful
- Anti tangle motorhead and hair screw tool actually work and no hair has tangled in the 2 weeks since I have own...

The vacuum does a very good job, but two attachments from the old model are no longer in the new V15 Absolute model. I was also told the battery recharge time was 20 minutes. Turns out that it is 3.5hrs, so I am really disappointed at the misinformation provided by the sales rep. Also, really disappointed that the price is $200 more expensive than 9 months ago when two additional attachments were available. I feel as though Dyson are perhaps gouging based on their reputation in a similar way to Apple. If you are going to charge the premium price, then the item should have all the inclusions as standard. I do not want to have to spend another $100 on additional accessories so I can enjoy the full functionality of a price inflated product.

Hi there Matt, thanks for your review. Our specifications give a 4.5-hour full charge time for this model.
If you wish to discuss your concerns further, we can be reached via our contact details listed here: https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-support
My concerns weren't pertaining th specifications; rather the disingenuous misinformation provided by the sales representative.

After hearing many mixed reviews on the Dyson V15 we decided to buy one and test it out. We have carpet and timber floors in our house so we new this stick vacuum was going to get a run for it’s money.
All I can say is wow, it is so easy to use, glides alone on our timber floors. The multiple heads give us the option to interact depending on the area needing cleaning. I was sceptical that this Dyson would actually be sufficient for our big house but the battery time allows us to clean the whole house before we need to recharge. Best decision we made was buying this product. I actually enjoy vacuuming now and the barrel makes it really easy to empty. We would highly recommend this product.

Top shelf unit which proves its worth. Cleans floorboards extremely well and carpets too.
A little heavier than previous models more felt when doing carpets. Emptying card ridge has become easier and less fiddle or mess at the bin. Attachments fit snug and there are multiple ones for all types of use.
Well worth the spend.

It’s simple to use, practical, Long lasting and sucks harder than a blower fish. The filter is super easy to clean and to empty the basket is a breeze. I also love the stand as its much sleeker and looks less messy. I wouldn’t go with other fake brands on the market.

Aside from the fact Dyson has always done a pretty great vacuum cleaner, their customer service is amazing. My toddlers have broken my V15 not once but twice in 3 weeks. The ladies at the costumer service centre are brilliant. Parts were shipped out quickly and their face time call they do to troubleshoot the problem is next level service. My vacuum is awesome for cleaning up after 5 kids, it's easy to charge and goes a long way one a charged battery. I wish I switched to a cordless vacuum long ago, especially a brand as good as dyson

Questions & Answers
can you stop the brush head from spinning when vacuuming?
Hi Mike, the motor will run and brush bar will spin when you pull the trigger and they'll stop when you let go.
The motorised spinning action works conjunction with the airflow to maximise pick up on flooring.
Hello. I've always been disappointed in how quickly my stick vac loses power. They're always advertising 60min fade-free power etc but when I looked at the Choice website they tell a different (and more accurate story). Whilst the top recommendations are Dyson, when you look at them they give a true representation of just how long you get. The best is the Dyson V15 Detect total clean and the actual running time is 12 mins - Measured with brush head on and full power. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm reluctant to go through this again.
I'm not sure whether you have the 'max' setting button on - that will make the machine lose power faster and the battery life itself decreases too if it's always on.
on and off depending on what I'm doing but I need more than 5 mins. I can't even vac my small car in one go. I'm going to call them tomorrow
Thinking about buying it. How do you clean the mop brush? Are there any parts I'll need to buy ongoing?
The brushbar in the motorised head of the Dyson V15 Detect is designed to be removed and cleaned in plain cold water. Both filters on the V15 Detect are also washable under plain cold water and don't ...

Features
Laser technology
An in-built green laser is precisely angled at 1.5 degrees, so that it reveals hidden dust on a floor’s surface, down to 10 microns. This helps you cater your vacuuming to specific spots on the floor that need attention.
Adjusting the level of suction
An acoustic piezo sensor is able to detect the size of particles being sucked up by the vacuum. It does this by ‘listening’ to the vibrations of the particles.
The vacuum automatically adjusts the suction power according to what the sensor hears is entering the vacuum. It increases suction when higher concentrations of dust are detected, and lowers it when the dust particles are smaller, or a lower level of dust is present.
The size and number of dust and debris particles are displayed on an LCD screen near the handle, using a coloured graph.
Anti-tangle technology
Hair often gets stuck in a Dyson vacuum’s brush bar. In response, Dyson has designed a hair screw tool that directs hair to spiral around the brush - then off it, and up into the vacuum bin.
Dyson states that this hair screw tool works with long hair and pet hair, which can save you time spent removing hair strands that have become firmly wound around the brush bar.
Easy cleaning
The filter and Dysons’s Fluffy brush bar can be washed in water to help easily maintain your new vacuum.
What are the options?
The Dyson V15 Detect is available in two models.
- The V15 Detect Total Clean ($1, 399) is built with a 5-stage filtration system that captures 99.99% of dust particles down to 0.3 microns.
- The V15 Detect Absolute Extra ($1, 449) features whole-machine HEPA filtration, which traps particles as small as 0.1 microns. This is similar to the air quality standard that many air purifiers use. It means dust is highly unlikely to be released back into a home’s atmosphere. This more expensive model also comes with a wall-mounted charging dock.
While technically not part of the same product line, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim uses all the same tech as the V15 Detect, but is smaller and more compact in design.
Points of praise:
- Most reviewers found that the Dyson V15 Detect worked great on all the surfaces of their home, particularly appreciating how it would detect different surface types and change its suction power accordingly, which was handy for when moving from timber floors to rugs. Some users said that it picked up dirt and hair that other vacuum cleaners left behind.
- They also reported that the bin was easy to empty.
- Reviewers with furry, four-legged friends found that the vacuum cleaner picked up pet hairs very easily and effectively.
The Dyson V15 Detect has won a 2022 ProductReview.com.au Award in the Stick Vacuum Cleaners category! It took out the top spot because according to reviewers, it has a durable build quality and is easy to use.
