Acer Aspire 3 has problems with charging – Acer Aspire 3 has problems with charging. the part inside the computer comes loose so that charging via mains is nigh on impossible. Great budget laptop – I was in the market for a basic laptop for personal use and came across this one. I found it to be a great price for a larger sized laptop with a decent processor and RAM. The battery life has been great, allowing me to relax on the couch with it to go through my emails, online shopping and backup my phone. I have connected my phone to it as well… Read more

A good laptop for what it is – I bought the Acer Aspire 3 NX KDSA.005 as my travelling laptop. The laptop is 15 inch light weight windows 11: 1 TB of storage. Intel Core i3. The laptop is easy to use and performs very well. I have no issues with the operating system. Unlike some laptops I have used in the past the start up is quick and I do not find this laptop to be slow in its operations unlike my HP laptop. I enjoy using this laptop. Show details

Poor strenght body and snapped off the screw on left side within 6 months – I purchased this laptop last year July 2019 from Binglee,and the outer plastic body where a screw is housed on left rear corner has been snapped off as a result laptop opens on left corner. .They did not accepted it as a fault for a replacement with new laptop. as they reffered to contact Acer. I contacted Acer for warranty but they did not provided any replacement rather asked to send to their assesment centre to see if it is a manufacturing fault so can be repaired under warranty else I had to pay the charges. Whole repair process can take 3-4 works. You get struck if you do not have a replacement laptop to work with if need to send for assessment
This product is not recomened, not value for money for the price paid as poor quality built and poor warranty claim and replacement process both at Binglee and Acer end
A good light weight laptop (no cd or dvd player though) – While Windows is in itself a good operating platform has too many useless programs. Acer's programs seam ok so far even though I had to uninstall it's trial programs. This is what I have now so I get 2 hrs on battery. Show details

Could this be any worse – I am a tech and am setting one of these up for a friend and it would easily be the worst laptop that I have ever come across. Acer should recall these and give everyone a refund. I have reinstalled Win 11, a fresh install and it cannot even run that properly. Tried Linux Mint and it is just as slow which is unbelievable. Running Zoom is jerky and other participants are stop-start animation in appearance – I received this laptop new in August 2023. Has 4GB of RAM - this is not enough to run Zoom. Aspire3 speakers just keep working, with nothing out of the earplugs.
The @ symbol is operated by the " key. The " key is operated by the @ symbol, although I did find a correction for this on youtube.

You try to move the curser across the screen and it's opening up anything and everything, closing stuff, deleting stuff and then when you do click on something you have to do it three times to open it. imagined. I seriously cannot empathize enough how pathetic this poor excuse for a laptop is. Never in my life has a piece of technology ever frustrated me to the point where I want to smash it on the ground into a million pieces as much as this wretched thing does! It absolutely boggles my mind how much a laptop can struggle to do such basic processes. Seriously, even just opening a simple file or browser practically sends it into meltdown. It is so astronomically slow that the heat death of universe itself will come before this laptop can load a jpg file. I would give this laptop zero stars if I could, because one is far too generous. Waste of money – Battery lasted Bout 6 months before it needs to stay plugged in. Now the motherboard has a short circuiting ceramic capacitor. Needs a new motherboard. 12 month warranty and lasted 17 months. Not fit for purpose. Show details

Multitasking? Speed? Get something else – This laptop seems to struggle handling its operating system, let alone any other program that you are trying to work with. The touchpad lags, typing lags and this is after removing the many bloatware programs that Acer force feeds the machine. You'll end up buying another laptop in 18 months time - do yourself a favour and spend twice as much on a better system from the start instead of messing about with substandard products like this one. 'stick on' small letters from Officeworks to glue onto the keyboard! This laptop also only has two portals at the side. I have had to purchase 'add on' products such as a USB hub, plus a CD insert separate device to play my music. The sound is also appalling on this laptop, so I have had to purchase additional speakers (which I can't use because there's nowhere to plug it into the laptop). The "integrated" graphics don't integrate – Makes video files stutter, makes online videos lag even at 50Mbps speeds. I bought this as a cheap online study machine but when your study videos stutter and lag, both on or offline, it can be very frustrating. apps off the hard drive with what are supposed to be 8GBs of RAM is slower than my 1GB RAM tablet. I have cleaned the caches and have auto-defrag running and have cleaned it several times but this keeps happening anyway. If I could afford it I'd set the machine alight and throw it out a window. I really would.

last 2 hours without being attached to the power chord now. The whole laptop is so slow now and cannot keep up with my needs as I need to be doing multiple things at once. Wouldn't recommend as there has been issue after issue
Could be better – The software is fine. The hardware is a different story. The usb ports are too loose, the battery overheats all the time - after a while I can't even type because the keys get hot from the battery. The port for the charger got worn out super fast: I had to break the tip of a toothpick off inside the port in order to connect the charger.

fails to meet even the lowest expectations – I wasn't expecting much for the price tag but even then I was disappointed. Acer should not market products which can't do the basics, it can't even run windows properly! So I partitioned the hard drive and installed Ubuntu on the other partition.
