Unfortunately can’t give 0 stars. I brought the 30L draw fridge/freezer, have had it for a week and had it set to -10 the whole time as I planned to use it as a freezer in the canopy. The coldest it ever got was -3, I contacted kings warranty and lodged a claim for a return & refund 7 days ago now. They sent me a return label for it which was due… Read more
to be picked up 3 days ago. We are now leaving the place we have been staying on holidays to head back home and it’s still sitting here waiting to be collected. I emailed several times to ask when it was being collected but have had no response. So I called warranty and got someone who could not have cared less and told me I would just have to stay and wait for it to be collected or deliver it myself to a kings store on my travel home. Since I have already brought a replacement freezer I now have no room so will have to leave it behind for who knows what to happen to it. This is the last time I will ever purchase anything from kings. It’s cheap for a reason & their warranty is pathetic.
quailty isssues with cigarete plug on dc power – There appears to be an issue with the supplied dc (cigarette lighter) plug is constantly disconnects from plug and no cooling as a result the plug id very cheap quality also the fridge - when it starts cooling at indicated 12.3 to 10.5 volts decides its an indicated error 1 and shuts off quality is an apparent issue I had a Waco before this and it just worked... enough said Show details

CHINESE JUNK – Absolute crap. You get what you pay for. Wont get below 7 degrees in 19 degrees ambient running flat out pulling 4.1 Amps constantly. 4th camping trip and it lets me down. CHINESE JUNK. Won’t be buying any “Kings” product again! Let’s all buy Aussie made and support our beautiful country and its people and avoid the headaches.

Not good – Bought to use as a freezer, however it does not freeze food so no good to me. Requested refund from 4WD supacentre as Victorian Consumer law states a refund must be made where product does not do what it is advertised to do. They refused to refund. Have submitted complaint to Consumer affairs Vic.

Not suitable as a freezer – Bought this as a freezer drawer. It doesn't get below -6°c even on a cool 15°c night. Has a high demand in power. Works ok as a fridge. Show details

One of very few problems with kings products – My 30L fridge has been running great but it is now coming up with F3 code, what does that mean? I can only find what F1 means not F3. Maybe it’s the extended usage it’s been on for about 12 days in a truck and car. Show details · 3
Will the drawer fridges be suitable – Thinking of replacing our 3 way 150litre Dometic fridge with 2x60L drawer fridge and 1x30L drawer fridge to be used as a freezer. Will this work out west in temps 40degrees and in reality will the 200ah lithium battery be sufficient. Show details · 1
Good Fridge, questionable Freezer! – Wanted it as a freezer, but couldn't reach -10C, only -7C on a very cold night, normally sat at -3C but could only maintain 1C on a 40C day. Food freezer should be -18C, so unsuitable for meat etc. Would be a good drinks fridge though. Fittings are weak - stripped the thread trying to anchor it down. Had to make up my own cable too. Great drawer fridge – We have used this non stop in the back of our grand Cherokee and is fantastic, linked to a iTechworld 50amp lithium and is always on Only problem we have, is it seems to get wet inside ? Is this a sealing problem Show details · 1

Works a treat had to buy another – Firstly if your like me and you put the fridge on the side of your drawer(inserts pics )and you put a wooden panel on top to make it look nice MAKE sure you don’t as I did cover the top air vent as I discovered the E5 error came up because the hot air could not escape so I cut around the air vent to give the fridge some breathing room (insert new… Read more · 1
pics) and since then no error .. I’m from Darwin and it’s hot so I’ve found if fridge is running to drop the rear windows a touch to allow hot air to escape so fridge doesn’t work so hard .. this seems to work so far .. my only gripe is the cheap handle I can see this breaking as it’s only made of plastic so I don’t feel like it will last at all .. fridge is very quiet when running .. doesn’t take long to cool things down (drinks) from warm ..good value for the price $329 plus shipping extra $23 and arrived within 5 business days.. EDIT 14/10/24 .. I loved this fridge so much I bought another now I have one as a fridge the other as a freezer (sort of ) and together they work flawlessly added bonus is when I don’t need both fridge’s I can use one as a pullout drawer for odds n ends .. I have had this setup for months now and still keeps everything cold .. have just two things I hope they fix if the freezer would go past -10 degrees as I like to keep ice cream for the kids but this won’t do the job needs to go to at least -18 and they changed the plastic handle
Do not seem to handle hot weather well – Purchased two of these to run in the back of my car. Did a test indoors overnight in an Airconditioned room at Ambient Temperature of 25 Degrees Celsius, One fridge on -10 working as a freezer and one on 4 degrees working as a fridge worked fine. My 100 AH AGM Lead Acid battery was floating between 60 and 70% capacity after 16 hours, this works… Read more
out at an average of 1.25 amps per hour per fridge.
Tested again on a hot day, It was 32 degrees with a feels like 36 in Cairns, both fridges in the car with a few already cold cans of drink and 4 pre-frozen ice blocks. Cooling down from around 30 Degrees, This was a stress test, one fridge got an E1 fault for a little while due to the heat, opened the car windows to allow more airflow, this definatley helped with regulating. The fridge was placed on 0 as it was not cold enough on 4 and the freezer on -10 and changing to -9 later.
I have the Kings Battery monitor which everything is running through this will cut off power at 11.9 Volts to save damaging the battery itself and to keep it above or close enough to 50%. The fridges are well ventilated, They sit on top of my drawers with a hutch over the top but no back so the compressor vents are completly open.
They cooled down fairly well from such a high temp, once they were cooled though, my battery was on around 60% so I took an hour drive, stopping 30 minutes to check battery level. Battery was at 90% once I stopped, It was another 30 minutes back home so should have easily been on 100%. I Got home just after 6pm. The fridges should have been at optimal working point bye now as they were already at temperature when I left and then had been running in the A/C car for over an hour. The outside temperature had cooled significantly however it was still a very hot night at 25+ degrees, and this continued throughout the night, I had closed the windows slightly so that nobody could access my car but left them open to allow airflow.
Checked the fridges at 6am, had a low voltage error and the freezer was on 4 degrees and fridge on 12 degrees. The battery had not lasted the night. As a guess I would say that it lasted between 8-10 hours.
I would guess that overnight the fridges averaged around 2.5amps per hour each, this is solely based on the fact that I had the freezer on -9 and the fridge on 0, and had a shift in temperature from -9 to 4 and 0 to 12. I believe if it had been more than 2 hours then I would have seen a higher temperature increase.
Even still the power draw overnight was 2.5x the stated average power draw of the fridges. From 100% to the 50% cutoff this would leave me with approx 10 hours of running time.
I am still a little disapointed in the performance of the fridges, even on a hot night I would have expected them to last at least 12 hours, considering I got 16 hours out of them in a perfect air conditioned room. The significant change in power draw from the perfect conditions to what would be above average running conditions is not great.
