AEG 60820

Quiet. Large/versatile. Reasonably water & energy efficient – I bought my AEG 60820 dishwasher last year, second hand on Gumtree. While I could have bought a cheaper brand dishwasher, brand new for less, I am happy with my choice because it is quiet, washes thoroughly, dries fairly well, is large enough/versatile for a variety of dishes and has a quality feel and finish about it which matches the rest of of… Read more
my Miele and AEG Electrolux laundry and kitchen appliances.
It has been 100% reliable in the 9 months I have had it. Very satisfied with the way it washes plates, cups, cutlery and pots. I have my dishwasher in the laundry so the cutlery basket is convenient for carrying back into the kitchen while the smaller 3rd level tray is ideal for holding sharp knives/forks. I almost always use the Automatic program. Dishes dry fairly well. Ceramic, glass, stainless steel etc all dry very well. Plastics in the upper level basket usually require a quick wipe with a clean towel. This is pretty normal for any dishwasher I've used.
The delay start is a useful feature although it is so quiet I don't mind having it on while I'm awake.
The door, controls and baskets have a far superior feel to the brand new F&P dishwashers at my office (made in China) and friends with Delonghi, Whirlpool, LG and other brand dishwashers have commented on how quiet it is and how solid it feels.
When buying a dishwasher, I had considered buying a new Miele, Bosch or Asko dishwasher but then I found this when browsing on Gumtree. I've been very happy with the significant saving in purchase price and with the performance of the dishwasher. Quiet. Washes well. Dries well. Reliable! Door hinges squeak when opening/closing but it is approx 5 years old!
