AEG BP9314001M Questions & Answers
VerifiedI’ve just bought the AEG oven. I was given the telescopic runners but no rack fits them only the drip tray which wouldn’t allow for even heat distribution. Am I missing a shelf? Because if this is the oven in its entirety I’ll be giving it a 1 star rating
How to replace the light in the “roof” of the oven and where to purchase please? Thanks Ren
We have just assembled our AEG oven and managed to fix the telescopic runners but would like to change the levels of it - We have tried removing the runners but it is not dislodging. How is it done ?
I am having the same problem I can not remove the telescopic runners
I love my oven. However I am having problems with telescopic runners. One of the runners will not extend fully. Do I have to replace it or is there something I can do?
My husband and builder have just installed the telescopic runners in my AEG 90 cm pyrolytic oven. I don't like the position of the runners and they have told me I cannot move them. Is this correct?

I finally bought the AEG BP9314001 a few months ago and it was only just installed - at last!!! I am a tad confused and was about to cook a savoury dish when I was advised that I am supposed to do a pyrolytic clean before I use the oven. Can somebody please tell me ASAP if this is true as I have the dish waiting to be cooked and am concerned that I will be doing something very wrong if I don't do a pyrolytic clean first.
i didn,t and had no trouble, hot oven would destroy any minor germ anyway.
We are looking at buying the AEG BP9314001M but would like to know if this oven has the ability to preset both the start and stop time so that if you are away for the day, the oven will turn itself on at the designated time and also stop when programmed.
Thank you for your help

Yes to both
Thank you Bill. Finding it hard to make the final decision. We were told that AEG ovens are made in Italy not Germany. We are also looking at Ariston ovens. They seem to have a lot of good reviews nowadays. Reviews for them back in 2010 weren't so good at all. In all, we are totally confused.
Hello Lindy, I can 100% confirm that the oven you really like BP9314001M IS made in Germany - as are most of their range. This oven is awesome (I have it at home) and you can have preset cooking times and temperatures (CT probe). The best oven ever, all backed by their 5 year warranty.
Hi kitchen whizz, thank you so very much for your answer. I am Perry sure I will go with this oven. Thank you for confirming German- made. This is important to us.
Can the chrome telescopic runners get wet to clean them? Does it affect the smoothness of the runner as there seems to be a white type of grease on them? Thank you
I was going to soak and scrub them
Soaking and scrubbing doesn't do any harm. My wife has used sugar soap.
Thankyou Bill
yes have washed with dish washing liquid and or oven cleaner, no harm done, just dry well.
BP9314001M versus BY9314001M - looking at AEG's comparison page, it is very confusing for me to determine the real difference between the two? Can shed some light on it? Thanks.
H,i the BP and BY are 90% the same ovens, BP has soft closing door, by does not, BP wont send any cooking smells into kitchen, BY will a little, BP cant store recipes while BY can, BP gets telescopic rack which you can pull right out without it collapsing, with BY you will have too buy this has an extra accessory, both are brilliant ovens and have heaps of cooking features.
You can put a meat sensor in your meat and set it at what ever cooking temperature you want and it will let u know it has reached this temp, both prove bread fantastically, the BP I think has plenty of cooking settings that most ovens don't go near, if you want to store recipes in oven then go for BY, I would go for BP, has its really advanced so much you probably will never store recipes in it.
My BP oven does let cooking smells permeate the house but with a good extractor fan this should not be a problem. I have used the oven's cooking method to cook the Christmas turkey and it was amazing. I just put the turkey in the oven and selected turkey and away it went. Fantastic, I don't even know what temperature it was cooked on! I don't have soft closing door but do have telescopic racks which are great but still need to be removed for pyrolytic cleaning. Still the best oven I have used. If you really don't think you will store recipes in the oven don't get the more expensive one. Anyway what happens if you sell the house and have to leave the recipes behind?
Thanks, that was really helpful!
I would take my oven with me if I were to move. If the house has to come with an oven, then get another oven to leave behind.
Hi there looking at purchasing the AEG BP9314001M is everyone still happy with their purchase? Any dislikes or likes?
No dislikes and it seems very reliable and easy to operate
Thanks Bill! Heard good things so fingers crossed!
It is still the best oven I have ever used. I just love the easy cleaning aspect of it. Cooks wonderful.
Thanks so much Wendy! So glad and cant wait for it to be installed ☺
How are the non stick racks going? Do they wear out as quickly as frying pans, even with careful handling?
claire
IF YOU mean the slide in chrome racks they are very durable and with some care eaily will and do look good for a long long time, but its much harder to keep roasting trays perfect, ours after 3 months of use are almost like new, key word almost.
Thanks. Like the AEG ovens except for the fact that racks are now non stick. Would use my current steel baking trays.
My slide racks are not non stick but chrome and they have to be removed and clean to use the pyrolytic cleaning program. I still love my oven, especially how easy it is to clean.
They're not really true non stick but they can be cleaned to keep them almost like new.
We are just about to start renovating our kitchen. Having started out thinking we would buy Meile, we were a bit taken aback by the small oven size. We are now looking at AEG BS931400m so were interested in the reviews about that oven. has anyone any comments about the combination microwave MCC3881E-M which we are also thinking of purchasing Tim and Irena

Hi, did you buy the BS931400m and combination microwave? As I am currently looking at this combination, if so are you happy with it?
Cheers
Why are there no instructions on how to install the telescopic runners for BP 9314001M? This is a major defect in an otherwise excellent oven. The user manual should be updated urgently to include these instructions. I have tried unsuccessfully for 2 hours to install them.

Bill, yes those telescopic runners are difficult to install the first time - took me 2 hours as well! There is a left and right hand side to them (marked L & R). Lay the telescopic holders, ie the shelf holders on a bench and then one by one push the runners on starting with the round knobbed end at the back of the shelf holder. The clip like part goes at the front of the shelf holder and they are tricky and have to be snapped on - you hear a snap sound. The clip that moves goes underneath the shelf holder. Once you have ALL the telescopic runners on one shelf holder, pick it all up carefully. There is a prong on the shelf holder which matches a hole on the side of the oven at the back. Match them and push in and do the same with the hole at the side front of the oven, bearing in mind left from right side. Follow the same procedure for the other side. It is easier assembling out of the oven than trying to do inside the oven. Remove for pyrolitic cleaning.
You will find the instruction leaflet inside the packet containing the runners. (I bought a different AEG model but I'm sure they re the same runners). The leaflet shows the steps in diagram form, no text.
