AEG Electrolux Favorit Sensorlogic F89020IM

To risk repair or buy a Miele – After spending $1300 plus on this dishwasher in 2010, I would have expected it to last a little longer. Maybe I have been spoilt with my Miele washing machine which lasted over 20 years. Recently it's reliability got so bad we were forced to call Electrolux who sent out a tradesman who was unable to diagnose the exact problem. My wife cleaned the filters (which she'd done previously) and was advised to use the really hot cycle. Unfortunately the problem persisted and it took 35 minutes to talk to somebody to get any discussion on fixing the problem. This discussion was very bride and was told the motherboard might need replacing with no guarantee of success. Frustrated my wife then cancelled a scheduled visit the replace the flickering internal light. The dilemma now is do we buy a Miele dishwasher or risk getting this dishwasher repaired.

Tickled pink!!! – It washes & dries very well, all my dishes are so sparkling clean after every load it does, I always use the auto setting in 2 hours they are done to an excellent standard, as I have very high standards for hygiene and cleanliness, & I have not had to rewash any item so far wow... AEG I am so impressed excellent value for money..!!! Please trust my opinion & do yourself a favor & buy an AEG, it is "whisper quiet" my favourite feature is the easy button to press auto & the top shelf is big, its rubber section on the left is great for items not to slide in the washing process, I use my dishwasher 3 times a week. I love AEG thanks Lexie..Xxx

Unreliable – We purchased the AEG 89020IM on the back of our previous experiences with the brand (Ovens, Cooktops and an old Washing Machine). Unfortunately with this particular experience we have had nothing but trouble with service fault after service fault. These were initially covered under warranty - however that has since run out and we are looking at $$$ to repair. I would estimate that since August 2010 when we purchased the machine we have had 3 call outs to repair the machine. Not ideal for a machine that cost close to $1300. When it works it does wash the dishes really well *Expensive *Poor Build Quality
I have to agree with the reviewer. We were talked into this model by a Clive Peeters (now closed) employee. Soon afterwards this model was recalled and on two occasions service had to be performed due to the recall.
Now only a few years later the wheels from the roll out baskets are falling off and the plastic lugs holding them are corroding (if plastic compounds "erode"). Then again a few days ago the lights were flashing ominously stuck on all through the night. Before I call Appliances Online to get a replacement (different brand!!) I have done yet another soft reset and set it to auto with no dishes inside. Waiting now to see what happens. I would never buy an AEG again. Full stop. But I would be interested to buy more wheels and wheel mountings if this thing can resurrect itself without a service call.
