Terrible – It was a great machine for almost 4 years but, for the premium we paid, I didn't think that was long enough. We were much luckier than some by having an extended warranty that was worth its salt and getting it checked for the noise before the warranty ran out the following month. Worked great for almost 4 years. Started making a little noise getting towards 4 years old. Bearings were to blame. Unfortunately, the quote for the repair was well over $2K - much more than what we had paid for the machine. Luckily we had an extended warranty through DJs. So we just needed to work out what else to buy to replace it.

I've had to change my opinion about this machine – This is my second AEG front loader. I bought it knowing AEG to be a long-lasting, high quality product-so, I didn't mind paying the high price. This is no longer the case. In year 5 of a 6 year warranty I've had the whole motor replaced (due to worn brushes) and recently been without the machine for 16 working days while bearings were replaced. I don't expect the brushes and bearings to be worn out in 5 years of use - in a 3 adult household. My experience leads me to believe that AEG products now have mediocre quality components. Once this warranty expires I'll be selling this machine asap, before the next problem occurs. When it's in working order, it works well. Poor quality mechanical parts.
