Very Reliable, Solid Machine – Bought this back in 2007 and have not had a problem until this week, Nov 2016. The pump finally gave out, but on eBay they're $35 for a genuine part. While we're taking the opportunity to upgrade to a newer, bigger machine, we've repaired this one easily and will keep it as a backup. Show details
Not so happy – I bought a Lavamat 62800 well over a year ago. I find that it does not spin as fast as my previous machine, a top loader, so that is one disadvantage. But the major problem I have had is that water accumulates in the rubber gasket around the door after each wash, and this caused mold to grow. Every time I washed, my clothes stank of mold. I tried… Read more
several things to fix it and called the company twice. I have to say they were less than helpful and their recommendation was that I dry inside the gasket after each use. I am doing this now, but there is no other machine that I am aware of that requires this. If I had had a serviceman out, despite the machine being under warranty, I may have been charged if they had felt the issue was my fault. I think it is a design fault, but they have not been keen to help at all. Supposedly uses less energy and water. Poor customer service and mold developed in the rubber gasket.
Excellent – I purchased this machine from Clive Peeters with the Five Year warranty. The lovely staff recommended this particular one to me, so I thought it would be a safe buy. And so far so good. I thought about getting the Miele but did not want to spend more then around $1000. I had always used a Top Loader and I am very pleased to be using much less… Read more
water and getting a better wash. I would definately recommend this particular machine. A great Washing Machine, easy to use, nice and quiet and it saves water! I hardly have to Iron anymore as the clothes don't get as tangled up and creased. It has a quicker setting if you don't want to wait over an hour for the normal wash. There is a rinse and seperate spin cycle, for items that don't need a 'proper' wash. The powder and fab softener dispenser is easy to clean, as it simply pulls out and then easily slots back into place. The quickest wash is around 50 minutes long. The spin cycle does sound a bit like a Jet taking off, so if your laundry is close to your living area you will need to close the door! The only other problem is that once you start the cycle you can not open the door to quickly throw anything else in, so you need to make sure you've got everything in before you start!
Excellent – What a ripper of a machine. We were diehard top loader fans and thought (incorrectly) that front loaders took too long - wrong - there is a quick cycle that takes the same time as the old front loader and is perfectly adequate for 95% of loads. We thought you couldn't add clothes after it's started. You actually can but it means the machine… Read more
drains -but guess what - we've never had to! To you top loader fans - bite the bullet and buy one of this range. There is usually a "special" on which gives a $300 discount and a doubling of the already generous 3 year warranty. We researched to the hilt and 3 months in couldn't be happier with the results. Clother are brilliantly clean, no lint. Clothes are almost dry when finished. Clothes that had "unremovable" stains came clean 1st wash. Quiet, water and energy efficient. Solid quality build. The generic problem with Front loaders - hatch is very low and if you use a stand the warranty is voided.
Excellent – i have always used top loaders, and so have all my family. I bought this washing machine from clive peters with a 5 year warranty for $1000. i had checked reviews about this unit before buying and they all seemed positive. This is what helped me make my decision, and i have no regrets. I actually show it off to my friends, because the spinning… Read more · 2
cycle sounds like a jet engine winding up ready for take off! lol i never heard such noises coming from top loaders, but it sounded tough and did a excellent job with the clothes, which is what it should do. The clothes come out clean, smelling lovely and nearly spun dry. My towels have no creases or wrinkles and dry up very soft and smelling nice.
I have to add, this is one heavy unit, built like a tank. I am expecting this washing machine to last over a decade. It took 2 men to lift it, with short rests in between walks, because it is very heavy. My old top loader was very light and tacky. Big difference.
make sure that the machine is in a room where the sound of the machine will be obscured, because the machine does tend to spin a bit loud. but it sounds good.
i highly recommend this machine. It is built really well, its water and energy efficient and is excellent at washing clothes. heavy duty, excellent washing, well built. Very easy to use can be a bit loud, but if it is in a laundry and you close the door, it should be fine.
Good – We are wrapped with our AEG. Sold it by Clive Peeters who took time to explain why it was a well designed machine like Miele Quiet Good at cleaning clothes Good warranty Slow compared to top loader
