What a POS! Worst machine ive ever used – This machine is truly the worst machine i have ever used. Setting the thread tension is constsnt torture. The settings in the manual are useless even as just a guide to a start setting. The thread on the underside of the work piece never get pulled tight enough to penetrate the work piece. It simply lies along the bottom regardless of the upper… Read more

thread tension or the bobbin tension. Do not waste your money or you time. All reviews on the internet say stay away. This one merely enforces those reviews.

Not a happy seamstress! – I bought one of these machine for my wife and she says it's the worst machine she has ever used. Apparently the problem is with the thread tension, which is causing constant jams and the inability to sew anything thicker than a tissue! She is about to throw the thing away!  Show details

What a waste of money, time, energy and patience – I will never recommend AEG sewing machine to anyone not even someone I dislike. I am an occasional sewer but the time wasted with this machine in adjusting the thread tension has been nothing short of mental torture. It would put off a new sewer of ever trying to learn the art of sewing! I would be too embarrassed to even put it in my garage sale. this machine is absolute rubbish!

Terrible machine – I purchased this machine from oo.com.au some time ago. I only use it infrequently and put down my initial troubles to getting used to a new machine. Have had to use it over the last couple of weeks and it is dud. No tension, thread breaks and I can't tell you have many needles that have broken. I had an old Janome for 15 years which was reliable… Read more

and simple to use. This machine is a complete dud!!

WORST MACHINE KNOWN TO MAN. I WOULDN'T BUY ONE FOR 10 cents – DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MACHINE. My Husqvarna after 30 years packed it in. I was a professional Seamstress & Milliner for 55 years. I now only want a machine that mends, alters & makes the odd occasional garment. I Googled AEG -"German" -good I thought. Better than a Singer as they generally need servicing every year, so I purchased this machine from… Read more

oo.com. I spent 30 hours trying to get it to sew. I also saw it's 'innards' & thought "no way will this last even if it did sew & no way would a mechanic be able to fix it". The list of things wrong with it are way too extensive to even write here unless you want 5 full pages. No tension, stitch selector only delivers 2 out of 25 stitches you are supposed to be able to pre-select, pressure foot not high enough to even get a see through old Terry tea towel doubled, underneath it, Feeder teeth are almost non existent, thread, every type known to man, keeps breaking every 10 cm, if you change the stitch length, the reverse button moves & the machine will not sew at all. I use the term 'SEW' & 'STITCH' extremely loosely as because of the non-existent ability to alter the tension or stitch widths/lengths, there are just 'loops' underneath so you can blow on it & the only thing resembling the 2 'stitches' come undone. I don't consider this a 'LEMON'. It is the whole make-up of the machine itself.Upshot: If you purchased one & it DID happen to sew properly, it would not last 6 months. NB: I have only ever written 1 negative review in my life. This takes the cake though. I saw under 'Sewing Machines', here on Product Review, "ask a question" -by contacting Leila, customercare@aegaustralia.com.au. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. For courtesy sake I did. AEG as it turns out, only make Power Tools & she told me she knew nothing about her address being under the sewing machine picture & AEG Australia did not make sewing machines!!. I took it from it's box, first noted Made in China which is to be expected with such a cheap machine. The Instruction booklet (DESTRUCTION Book) is not a book at all. It is a high resolution few pages on reflex paper, copied, and has "AEG/Electrolux oo.com" on the back page. Further investigation by me, found that Electrolux had nothing to do with it either. This is what I have been told anyway. So back to oo.com yesterday with one months of investigation on my part after sending it back, and they told me they are contacting their 'buyers'. I have reluctantly paid the extra for a Singer Talent. It's been one month since my mail to oo.com and still no machine here. This is the first machine in 55 years that I could not get to sew. Please don't put yourself through the grief of purchasing one. Also the bad Customer service by oo.com.au had delayed everything. Not even returned emails until yesterday -since I first sent inon 2/01/14 -and they wanted to FIX it!! Wish me luck with the Singer i didn't want!♥ NOTHING WILL NOT SEW & THE 'WHAT's WRONG' LIST IS TOO LONG TO ENTER
