This was reviewed so highly and I honestly don’t understand why. While it has a strong vacuum it has a problem getting grit to the container. On nearly every occasion we used the airflo, it spat out what it just sucked in. I often just ended up… Read more
scouring areas in our small house with my fingers to pick up bits it missed or spat out. You have to clean out the vacuum every time you use it, or the funnel gets blocked, so we found it was often faster to sweep with our broom. The big fail for us was when my kids broke up bits of foam into tiny snow sized bits as a “surprise.” The vacuum didn’t pick any of it up until I cleaned it out twice. By that time the broom did most of the job. Again we have a small house. No pets. And it was just terrible. What a waste of money.
Follow-up · What cleaning method worked best for you? We vacuumed just about every evening because it's a small house with young kids, so it was important to get on top of it. So there was never a giant accumulation that could have overwhelmed the vacuum (except for the night of the "snow surprise). Every night we'd clean out the vacuum filter before… Read more
Very bad choice – I hate this vacuum I never have to empty the barrel because it always amasses in the head...lousy pick up...I want to buy a power head to fit it Show details
Bad product – Don't waste your money on this one doesn't last 12 months, before it started making very loud noises and they won't replace goes in the bin :( Show details
Poor After-Sales Service – I got given a new AFV 6061 from a friend. I worked OK for a while but suddenly the motor started making a very loud shrill sound but with no receipt, I couldn't go back to the store. I contacted Airflo directly via their website....apparently they are not repairable and do not have a service centre I can take it to. They were no help to me at all… Read more
so I'm stuck with a vacuum that barely sucks and makes such a loud noise it hurts my ears. A big waste of money. I would not recommend buying one of these or any Airflo product if that is what their after-sales service is like. Sure its under $200 but one would expect more than a couple months use for that price.
Good vacuum for the price – We decided it was time to get a battery-operated stick vacuum (but didn't want to pay the high price of the Dyson) so we opted for the Airflo 22.2V Stick Vacuum with 2 Speed Suction Power from Harvey Normans. It's been a good addition to the house cleaning kit and gets a daily workout for a quick run around the floors. The battery life is good… Read more
enough to keep reasonable suction around the main part of the house. It obviously not as good as the corded vacuum cleaner but for a daily tidy up, it is much easier than a broom and dustpan and brush.
For best suction, it needs to be emptied before every use (not complicated to do) and it doesn't have a replacement interchangeable battery, so when it is out of power it needs to be charged, which take a few hours, but overall it is a good machine without breaking the bank - the Dyson is probably the gold standard but for the price, the Airflo will do the job for a light daily clean.
