ALDI Chest Freezers

When offered for $<>170 a few weeks ago I did not understand>> A fridge or freezer for thst price?! Now running for a few weeks - just a green light - nothing to hear of the motor. On lowest FREEZE setting minus 30 deg celsius. Why do other fridges/with a tiny Frezzer cost $1000? This little beauty is working fine-when tey come again - I buy one more. We are now shopping only once a week and freeze bread and buy frozen vegies.

Did the job – Generally a great purchase for the price. Usual awkward deep freezer accessibility, though the basket can be lifted out (and placed somewhere, awkwardly?). didn't get blinded every time we opened the freezer! Otherwise it did it's intended job, and lasted about 9 years.

Another Aldi product going to Land Fill – Bought a Stirling 145 Litre Chest Freezer from Aldi. The warranty is for 36 months. It has failed at 42 months. Great Freezer – We've had absolutely no problems with it for the past 2 years and it's still going strong. It's great for shopping in bulk and freezing till required. Saves me alot of time and money. I would definitely reccomend it to friends. It's always handy to store that extra tub of ice-cream that's on sale!

Piece of garbage – What a piece of rubbish. Broke down after two months, with resultant spoilage of all food and stench. Aldi Maryborough (Vic) staff rude, brusque and unhelpful - told it "wasn't their problem." Used a huge amount of electricity. STILL dealing with AWA and the refund problem seven months later. Faulty, cheap construction, expensive to run.
