Alive Health & Fitness Narrabundah – Member Review I’ve been going to gyms on and off most of my life. To be honest, I never really enjoyed it — I went mainly because of weight issues, and while it helped, it was never something I looked forward to. That all changed a year ago when I joined Alive Health & Fitness in Narrabundah, ACT. I absolutely love going in and training now. Every time I step through the doors, I’m greeted with a smile, and most of the staff know my name — which makes it feel so special. I genuinely feel like part of the gym family.

The staff here are exceptional, and I’m so grateful to them for making every visit start with a smile. I even challenged myself to try a couple of group classes — and OMG, Rachel (3D30) and Janelle (Power) are amazing instructors! I’m officially hooked and will be attending more of their classes for sure.

Alive Health & Fitness is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been to a lot.

OK – It is a good gym for someone who likes to use weights and resistance machines and isn't after great cardio equipment. I can't comment on the classes as a I haven't been to any, but the personal training was worthwhile. There are some television screens and the ability to tune in to a radio station to hear the different channels. Low fuss but low on little luxuries. The gym at Mawson ACT is spacious and the people are friendly. The weights and resistance machines are very good and there are plenty of them and they are all in good condition. The cardio equipment (steps machine, treadmills, stationary bikes)is ancient and I find them to be very uninspiring to use.

Good – The instructors are fantastic and really take an interest in your fitness goals even when not doing personal training. They take care in classes to make sure everyone is exercising correctly to avoid injury. The creche, while now expensive, is great with caring staff. Great facilities and a great gym. The Mawson creche facilities are excellent and the gym instructors that take the classes are fantastic. They have been bought out by Club Lime which has changed the 'small club' atmosphere to a more corporate feel. They creche fees have gone up in line with the Club Lime prices which are high.
