Alpine iLX-702D
MPN: iLX-702D2 reviews
Thumbs down for this one – Not user friendly. Slow. integration with an android phone is poor to say the least. Such a flash looking unit until you go to use it practically! I have been loyal to Alpine but this is my last one. Its been in my vehicle for 6 weeks and I've started looking for new head units already.
Purchased in for $580.
Great sounding heavily featured head unit – So this is a fully featured standard double DIN head unit. In brief : Apple CarPlay: Siri Voice Control, Apple Music, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Apple Maps*, Phone Calls, iMessages, Music (*Please check Apple Map availability at Apple official website.) Android Auto: Voice command, Google Play Music, Spotify, Google Maps, Messages, Phone Call, Music Power Output: 4 x 50 W High Power Amplifier Advanced Power IC 7″ Capacitive Touch Screen Display White LED Backlighting System 50/50 Split Screen: Left / Right Position Changeable Control Type: Touch, Drag, Flick My Favourites Function High Grade Audiophile Design 3 PreOuts (2 V, Front / Rear / Subwoofer) Steering Wheel Remote Control Function.
This head unit has a lot of adjustability including crossover points and multiple slope points for all channels, time correction and wideband equaliser.
The screen resolution and quality is fantastic, the menus are largely easy-to-use but I find the tuning and favourites functionality of the dab screen to the complicated and difficult to understand and this is true of my halo9 also made by Alpine.
I purchased this unit specifically because it was a fully featured double din head unit with physical buttons on the bottom row only to find that the physical Buttons are not backlit and you can't actually see them at night which for a head unit costing this kind of money is just crazy - more so when you realise that the buttons either side of the function buttons are actually backlit.
*edit the physical buttons actually are backlit but they are so dim you have to be driving in complete pitch black darkness to see any form of back lights with no adjustability for this.
Purchased in for $799.
