Don’t waste your money – The biggest waste of money! I bought it for my husband for 2023 Christmas, we finally got it out yesterday to use for the first time, followed the instructions meticulously and the cog doesn’t rotate in the top motor so the paddle connected doesn’t rotate. I now have all the ingredients in a freezing bowl - just going the throw the entire thing… Read more

away. Haven’t even had a chance to register it for warranty because we literally opened it up yesterday. The second Aldi purchase that hasn’t worked. Will not be buying anything else from Aldi again.

Ambiano ice cream maker – How do I use it what do you mix in it

It never ever ever sets! Liquid & icy! – Motor on top makes interior hot. It never sets. 1mm on bottom sets & the rest is cold liquid for all eternity. Freezing your liquid mess makes ice crystal cream, not pleasant to eat. It doesn't work. Show details

Great ice cream maker - not loud – This has been a great ice cream maker, quieter than our last model. We've been very pleased with it and it is cute - much more stylish than our last ice cream maker! Would highly recommend! Show details

Our comparison to Cuisinart Ice Cream maker – Some reviews here state it is loud? We found it a lot quieter than our Cuisinart ice cream maker which we sold couple of years ago. The top shoot is great as you can add things while it's operating. Also other reviews stated the mixture was not set as ice cream after 30 minutes. With the non-refrigerated ice cream makers I'm pretty sure after 30… Read more

minutes the mixture still needs to go into the freezer to set.

The recipes in the booklet are great especially the vanilla our fav.

The only negatives, the motor seems to run a bit warm but I think that is by design.

Purchased at Aldi Jan 2022

the things I put in come out exactly like ice cream. Its just really loud like it wants to blow up – The one stars seem to be wrong. It works good except it's really loud. I came to check the reviews to see if it actually blew up on people. Sounds scary af

Love it! – Had the ice cream maker a couple of weeks, and am hooked! I wisely read quite a few product reviews, when I first saw the maker in a catalogue. Taking the advice of a number of reviews, I can safely say I will never buy ice cream again. Show details

Good value for money – It did take a couple of times to get it the way I like it, but have made several lots, especially fruit ones(mango, strawberry) and they have been good. It may be less efficient than more expensive ones, and may need more patience, but thats ok Show details

Works very well for the price...A lot of fun! – Machine works well...although instructions are lacking a little. Remember to freeze churning tub for 12-24 hrs before use. Where 'mixing' is required to first make mixture....use a power whisk/stab blender or such and your results will be yummy. Plan ahead and do not rush. Do not expect frozen icecream from something that is churned with a plastic… Read more

paddle! A little extra churn time and an hour or 2 in the freezer after churning will provide icecream worth the effort.

Another excellent ALDI product - works well, easy to clean & produces good quality ice cream – This ice cream maker works very well - producing excellent ice cream which tastes good and has a high quality consistency. Besides that, it is easy to use and clean. The machine works on the same principle as more expensive models, and in my view, arguably produces a result which compares favorably. I have read the negative reviews before… Read more

writing this; while I acknowledge the opinions of others, I can only report as I find.

One observation is important: when making ice cream, it is very important to follow the recipe precisely.

As regards mixing, I suggest you use an electric hand mixer - that works for me! The mixture does not need to be warmed. Also, you need to make sure you measure the ingredients carefully, so they are in the correct proportion within the mix.

I have had 100% success using the recipe in the instruction book. I suspect the secrets are:

1. Measuring all of the ingredients carefully, to make sure they are in the correct proportion; also, make sure you use the exact type of ingredient specified in the recipe - for example, do not use light or low fat cream

2. Use an electric beater for mixing

3. Ensure the bowl has been in the freezer for at least 24 hours, and don’t delay in starting the churning once you take the bowl out of the freezer

Good luck! I’m confident you will be as successful as I have been with my machine :-)

lovely icecream – makes nice icecream whether book recipe or your own. Measure, too easy to put too much in. Hardest thing is pouring in chilled mix while machine running. Keep bowl in freezer. Show details

Makes perfect ice cream – This machine works perfectly well (especially for the cost) so long as everything is extremely cold (including your ice cream mixture - almost freezing but still liquid when it goes in works best), especially the mixing bowl. I've made 3 amazing batches using recipes I researched myself. Preparation is key, and some patience required; but again, well worth the cost. Show details

Disappointing result same as the other dissatisfied users! – Disappointing !!!! Tried 10 different ways including manufacturers instructions and just runny messy custard, maybe Aldi should have demos for their machines prior to putting them up for sale, not happy Show details

Machine works well – I purchased this machine as a gift for my husband and we have enjoyed using it. While the included recipes do not make icecream, more like cold sticky milk, we have tried several more traditional recipes with great sucsess. If you buy find your own repicies and discard included recipes.  Show details

Milk shakes are thicker! – I fail to see how this product is an ice cream maker. After churning my ice cream mixture for 40 mins I was left with a runny milk consistency. Which doesn't in my opinion meet any standards for ice cream whatsoever. Very disappointing product. You get what you pay for! Was super excited to receive this as a gift, just hope the giver can return it for a refund  Show details

Don't waste your money – Terrible! Tried 4 batches - 2 using the recipe provided with the machine and 2 from the internet. None froze, despite following freezing instructions and extending churning time. Motor overheated and had to wait for it to cool down. Horrified as I bought it for a present for my 6 year old. Christmas ruined, will seek a refund!  Show details

Not great – Budget design and crude, cheap motor which is quite loud and gets hot. For $40 I didn't expect a Rolls Royce but usually Aldi appliances are better than expected for the price. I've made about 4 batches with mixed results. During one batch, (followed Ambiano recipe exactly for Mango Ice-cream), the motor got too hot and cut out completely and would not re-start until it cooled down. I'll probably take it back for a refund.  Show details

So Disappointed. Do not Waste Your Hard Earned Money – Machine does not make the ice cream creamy - the product ends up like icicles, once frozen. Followed instructions completely (placing product in fridge for a minimum of 4 hours before churning), this is not ice-cream, the end product after churning time is runny like milk. I have watched ice-cream making machine videos and you can see the… Read more

product turning into ice cream when being churned. The product stays like runny milk after churning time has finished. (I even tried to extend the churning time but the machine will not work over the initial 30m .... even if I switch it off and back on). I note that it is not clear if the product should remain in the churning tub once the churning time has finished (prior to freezing). I will try the next batch by freezing the churning tub beforehand and leaving the product "in the churning tub" to freeze in the freezer. If unsuccessful, I will seek a refund.
