I don't need it to slow cook - only Sous Vide – I cook texas rubbed rump steaks for 5 hours at 52 degrees, pat them dry and then a minute over the flames, (each side) on the barbie. Never had a more tender, nicer steak - anywhere! Wouldn't be without it. Show details

Great performance and fantastic value – Update - 28 January 2020: this still is working well - a good value purchase! This is an excellent slow and sous vide cooker. Actually, it’s the same as one offered by Sunbeam at a much higher price! It has a large cooking receptacle, with an effective non-stick coating. The controls are straightforward to understand and use. It’s easy to clean after use. Most importantly: it delivers great results! Show details

Can't even achieve a slow boil on high after 10 hrs – Unfortunately this thin metal bowl slow cooker cannot transfer the heat required to cook anything! 1.4kg roast with some carrots, potato etc are still hard solid after 10 hours on high. Wish I had used it within the Aldi return policy to find out it is no good. Beware of slow cookers with non stick thin metal bowls that don't retain heat & you… Read more

have to carefully prick vegies to see if they are cooked without scratching the non stick coating.

Very different to the god old solid ceramic bowl types!

Brilliant. Does what a sous vide needs to do – Worked perfectly first go on two eye fillet beef steaks. Followed the instructions to a tee and yummo. Perfectly cooked through medium rare steak, finishing it off briefly on the grill. Easy to clean and pack up. Only wanted it as a sous vide and I’m as happy as a pig in a warm water bath  Show details

Works for me – This appliance worked for me. I wanted something inexpensive to try it out and purchased Ambiano. I was very excited to try all the recipes, there are only limited recipes in the manual. Still, the unit works for me and I have successfully cooked a few meals. I have read a lot of people leaving negative comments, this unit can be a hit or miss.  Show details

I really wanted this to be good – Was very excited when my mum & I purchased one each. However after trying & trying to successfully cook at least one meal I've given up. Nothing cooks! 5 hours for raw scones, 6 hours for hard finely chopped potatoes & they were still hard. Have heard rave reviews of other AldI cookers but this one has been an epic fail & I will be returning it. My mum has returned her since seeing the results of mine. Not worth the high prices tag.  Show details

Good Product for the Price – At this stage I've only used it on 6 occasions as a sous vide cooker, and it seems to perform well. On the last occasion I set-out to cook a pork knuckle over 5 hours at a temperature recommended on sous vide cookery sites and in the guide book, but unfortunately it wasn't cooked properly. I'd suggest that heat is lost through the lid, so… Read more

recommend covering it with some form of insulation. I haven't given up on the product ... yet, and will re-rate it with more use.
