I had a series of issues with the Magimix Cookmaster, but I must say the pot itself is an excellent non-stick pot. However, the implementation of a cocotte on the Cookmaster was not satisfactory. I had to use the stove to generate enough heat for sautéing food, and the base was not sturdy and did not lock properly. As a result, if I stirred or… Read more

deglazed the pot, it would switch off. A metal base with a proper lock would have been an improvement. After switching off the Cookmaster several times, it refused to reset or heat, so I had to send it back for a repair.

Magimix service used to be great, but now it is incredibly slow, making the entire process painful. If one considers the Cocotte as a pot, it is expensive and does not retain heat as well as cast iron, which I use extensively. It is likely made of aluminum.

While I think the Cookmaster is great, the Cocotte is an immature product in its evolution. The potential is there, but it is not yet realized. Magimix, which previously provided rapid and responsive service, is now agonizingly slow, making the process far from desirable. It took well over a week from the initial contact to receiving a label to send the product in. Ten days later, the technician called to clarify the problem. We are almost at the three-week mark.

Would buy it again in a heartbeat – I bought the Cocotte when it first came out and I’ve been using it a lot! I’ve found my preference for searing meat and cooking onions etc at the beginning of a cook is by using the pot on my stove top. I find I get a better colour when browning the meat and it’s faster to cook the onions etc. I then add the remaining ingredients, cover with its… Read more

lid and put it on the back of the stove top to cool for 2 mins while setting up the CE with the Cocotte base and setting the programme. I then put the pot on the machine and press Auto and off it goes. I’ve been learning what temps to use and times, but it’s pretty fail safe. I just don’t open the lid for at least 90 mins so none of the moisture is lost. I can then see how the meat is going and gauge how much longer I think the meal will take.

I haven’t used it in the oven as yet, but the 3 options of ways to cook in it makes it very versatile. Everything just seems to taste better which I can’t explain but instead of it being something I’ll just get out now and then, I’m finding I want to use it as much as possible! Very happy with it.

Set and forget – I have ditched my heavy cast iron casserole for the cocotte - it's so light & so easy to wash. Once I have selected the temperature and time it can be left to do it's thing, which I couldn't do on the gas cooktop for safety reasons & temperature monitoring. Easy to use and my brisket was meltingly tender. Doing a chicken dish next!

Cocotte slow cooker – What a great addition to the Cook Expert. The Cocotte has a big 7 litre capacity and the versatility of being able to use it on the stovetop, in the oven as well as on the CE base. So far, I have cooked bread and chicken laksa and am looking forward to cooking a whole lot more. It was so easy to clean after use. Show details

Cocotte Cooking Pot – The Magimix Cocotte is a wonderful accessory for the CE. The capacity is HUGE, able to cook double batches of almost any recipe so great for batch cooking. So far I have made bulk spag bol, passata, huge batch of tomato relish, curry, lamb shanks, chicken casserole and all have been great. I love that I have total control over the temperature,… Read more

Cocotte Success – After baking bread, cooking lamb shanks, beef and red wine stew and dumplings, also corned beef in my cocotte I am very happy with the product. The size is great and the convenience of freeing up my stove top, oven and bench top is an added bonus. A couple of the temperatures are a little too low but is able to adjust. Show details

Another Magic Accessory – We recently invested in la Cocotte as our 30th wedding anniversary gift to ourselves because our favourite night out is a relexing night in! We have 3 slow-cookers (because how many slow-cookers are be too many?!!!) but OMGoodness our gift takes slow-cooking to new heights!!! Thank YOU - as if 30th years of marriage was not gift enough!!! Good accessory for cooking big batches of food – Easy to use, great non stick performance and easy to clean. I love that it turns my cook expert into basically another stove top element. I like the lid design, making liquid drop back into the food. I do think for the price, and what it is, that is very much overpriced, but unfortunately if you want to use it there is no alternative, and I think that Magimix have taken advantage of this. Show details

Early days but love it so far – So far so good. It makes a lot of moisture which rolls off the lid so i need to adjust my recipes so more cocotte recipes in the app would be great. Love how it can go on the stove and in the oven. So far only made stews but will try bread next and that looks easy too. Show details

An excellent, versatile addition to the Magimix Cook Expert family – The Cocotte is an excellent addition to the Magimix Cook Expert family. It is relatively light weight, it has the best non-stick characteristics I have ever come across, and it is so versatile -- able to be used as a slow cooker, on the induction cooktop, and in the oven. We have cooked a number of meals in it, mainly using it as a slow cooker.… Read more

Most have been beyond excellent, but two were a bit stringy -- I'm not sure we cooked them long enough. I love the precise temperature control. Although it is supposed to be dishwasher friendly, we have washed it by hand after each use, as it is extremely easy to clean. I could not recommend the Cocotte highly enough.

Game Changer – This is a real game changer for the Cook Expert. I can now cook large stews and casseroles with all the convenience and control I have come to expect from my Cook Expert. The non-stick ceramic finish is the "non-stickiest" non-stick surface I have ever used - the bits and pieces left in the pot just rinse off with ease! It easily accommodates… Read more

WORTH WAITING FOR - THE BEST – Have used my Cocotte several times and am extremely satisfied with it. I have made a whole slow cooked chicken and vegetables, Massaman Beef Curry, Chicken Soup, Minestrone Soup and Bolognaisse Sauce. All dishes have been extremely fully of flavour and cooked to perfection. I believe this is because of the slow cooking. Clean up is a breeze. … Read more

So versatile – The first recipe I made in my Cocotte was bolognese. It was easy to use, cleaning was a breeze and there were no smells after cleanup. I used my own recipe that I adapted with another MagiMix CE recipe for the method. I haven't used it on the stove or oven yet but they are options that I have and love about the Cocotte. Show details

Love My slow cooking Cocotte- Lazy cook – I love slow cooking (chuck food in pot and go do something else) and my previous slow cooker S Secret chef had an metal pot so food cooked fast which I loved but I wore it out. Decided to purchase the Cocotte for my magimix cook expert to do slow cooking. My first test dish was my stew recipe- it was perfect it cooked my stew in 1.5 hours (4… Read more

people amount)- if in hurry could of eaten at 1 hr. The flavours were deep as if I had slow cooked for 3-4 hours. It also didnt produce too much excess liquid. I also like that you can brown in the cocotte and then switch to simmer and warm if not ready to eat. It was way easy to clean, just wiped off. I could not smell any smells. Havent tested a curry yet. I am going to try Pasta Alfredo in it tonight. I am very happy with my purchase, looking forward to winter and more slow cooking.

Better than I expected, amazing product – I bought the cocotte a week ago and I am in love. I made a vegetable, and chicken thigh butter chicken dish and it was super delicious and fast. I seared the chicken thigh then changed it to simmer and added brocollini, carrots, sweet potato, zucchini, can of chick peas and poured a jar of butter chicken over the top, simmered for 1 hour and was… Read more

ready. All my family loved it. Don’t hesitate to buy one!!! I love how it slow cooks but its faster than my regular slow cooker and you can sear your meat first in the same pot. I can't wait to try baking bread in it to. It cleans up so easy, you just wipe it out. My kids can't stop raving out the butter chicken and vegetables dish I made.

Cocette is a winner – Cocette gave a wholesome meal, ready to eat or kept warm for seconds or late comers. Cleaned up beautifully not retaining odour. Beef shanks were wonderful and look forward to my next cocette meal.

Cocotte: A Winter of Stews & Pot Roasts Made – First try: Lamb shanks with North African spicing: I hard seared the shanks on my gas hob, let the slow cooker rest about 2 min before popping it on its base and using the sear function to caramelize onions. Finally used the slow cook function (temperature set at 110) for four hours. Results, marvelous, the lamb was perfectly cooked, the sauce… Read more

"glossy". When we were ready to eat (l like to allow stews and braises to "rest" for three or four hours) I reheated cocotte on gas hob over a very low flame. (At the point, the Cook Expert was steaming the accompanying rice.) (I'm going to use it to make a curry later today.) Performed beautifully, almost no steam escaped during the simmering, cleanup took less than a minute with no residual mess or odor. I like it much better for slow cooking than multi-function appliance where I have to use several pots (adding to mess and cleanup)! Even better, cocotte can be moved to the dining table for informal dinner parties.

The missing link – I love my new cocotte. It makes the Magimix a complete kitchen. It’s everything they say it is and more. Easy to clean, cooks beautifully moist meals. Works perfectly on my induction cooktop and in the oven as well as on the Magimix base. I haven’t tried baking bread but it’s on my list of things to do. I’ve made casseroles, curries and osso bucco so far. No curry smell left after the cooking Show details

Impressive accessory – I had been given some quinces & decided to make quince paste. One of the problems doing this is the long cooking process which tends to stick to the bottom of the pot. After cooking the quinces & puréeing etc I put them in the cocotte for slow cooking… absolutely beautiful result and deep red colour plus very easy to clean the cocotte afterwards. I will be doing this in the future. Show details

Perfect way to slow cooking – The cocotte has allowed me to increase my cooking skills. The beauty of the machine is the induction heating and getting the incremental temperatures. I have tried cooking pears before and they always ended up mushy because there was too much heat. I have cooked them twice in the cocotte and my diners thought it had come from a French restaurant. … Read more

So glad I bought it – So easy to use and so light to pick up. Only had 7 days and have used it 3 times. I batch made spaghetti sauce, prepared the vegetables in the FP,then sauteed the onions and meat in the Cocotte which was easy. I then… Read more

adapted an old slow-cooker book pork roast receipe which was cooked in the programmed time but we prefer the meat soft so extended the time by an hour which I shall have to take into account next time. The saute function works well and I have tried both the hob to start the Cocotte and the Cook Expert. For convenience I shall use the saute function on the CE as it heats up quickly. Washing up is a breeze. Did think of putting in the dishwasher but really there is no need. No cooking smells retained at all unlike my pressure cooker bowl. It sits on my bread bin ready to use and look forward to trying loads more ideas. Defintely one to keep and with colder weather coming will be used very often.

Great addition to the Cook Expert – I am loving this accessory for my Magimix Cook Expert. I have been using it nearly everyday since I got it. The size is perfect for cooking for a family. I am able to brown meat beautifully, making my dishes more delicious than ever. I love being able to then set it and forget it on the Cook Expert. I also love how easy it is to clean. No need for the dishwasher because everything slides right off. Well done, Magimix! This product is outstanding. Show details
