These were a luxury purchase to replace a very well worn set of quality headphones. Found them initially great but uncomfortable after an hour of use, they clamp fairly hard over your ears and gave me a headache (lost a star over that). A search found this a known issue and after delving discovered a hack to loosen the force. It involves flexing the headset flat and holding for a minute, this eased the pressure and I've had no worries since. They are rather well built and fit well into the Apple ecosystem, functions are intuitive without being overly complex. The noise cancelling is excellent, I use these in noisy environments successfully. The battery life is pretty good, and charging on the go is easy with a short charge giving that bonus time. I wear these daily and can see the value in the extra cost.

I’ve been using the AirPods Max for a few months now and they’ve easily become my go-to headphones for music, calls, and even travel. The sound quality is exceptional - crisp highs, deep bass, and a surprisingly rich soundstage. The noise cancellation is among the best I’ve experienced; it blocks out everything from traffic noise to office chatter effortlessly.

The build quality feels truly premium, with a solid aluminum frame and memory foam ear cushions that are incredibly comfortable, even during long listening sessions. The transparency mode is also a standout — it feels natural and lets in ambient sound without distortion.

Battery life is solid, though I do wish Apple included a proper power-off button rather than relying on the Smart Case to preserve battery. Also, the price is steep - definitely a luxury item - but if you're already in the Apple ecosystem and want top-tier audio, it's hard to go wrong.

Overall, the AirPods Max deliver a fantastic listening experience and live up to most of the hype. Highly recommended for audiophiles and Apple lovers alike.
