Got the Nitrocharger kit installed on my 2013 Amarok 3 years ago. Ride is smoother on the tarmac and better feel over terrain. UV4x4 brendale were great and I have no complaints Show details
Really bad – Just bougth a whole new suspension kit for my land rover defender. You would think this is top quility but it isnt. Stay away from this brand. After only 10.000 km two broken rear shock absorbers in the middle of nowhere of Kyrgystan. No help at all. Warranty? Offcourse not, it is your own fault you probably mounted them incorrectly. I went to ARB for a GVM upgrade on my 2024 Ford Ranger and explained exactly what I intended to use the ute for—carrying camping gear and a fridge in the back, three kids in the rear seat, and towing a three-ton caravan. They completed the GVM upgrade, but from the moment I drove the vehicle out of the workshop, I noticed that the suspension felt… Read more
very soft, and I have not been happy with it at all. The front suspension is particularly soft, the rear sags excessively under load, and the rear lift was extreme—around 65mm. When weight is added to the back, the front lifts even more, making the vehicle feel unstable and unsafe while towing.
They then recommended installing airbags, which I paid for out of my own pocket. While they helped slightly, they did not resolve the core issue. The front suspension is still far too soft for a GVM-upgraded vehicle.
When I raised these concerns with ARB, they inspected the vehicle and told me everything was fine and that this was “normal.” Apparently, in their view, a GVM-upgraded suspension being softer than the stock suspension is acceptable—which I find laughable.
At this point, I’m seriously considering replacing the entire suspension setup with another brand and throwing the Old Man Emu suspension in the bin.

Huge improvement with ARB suspension – Had from near new , Bilstine shocks front and rear, kings coil springs in front & OLD MAN EMU rear 600 kg constant leaf springs fitted to my 2016 px2 ranger. Was never really impressed with the vehicle but accepted it and drove on. About two years later, one of our work vehicles,2018 ranger came into our fleet with ARB GVM Suspension upgrade… Read more · 1
fitted to it. Previous to this one, all others had been fitted with other upgrade kits. After driving the one that had the Old Man Emu suspension, I was so impressed the way it handled in body roll, ride quality I promptly purchased front springs with new shocks , had them fitted up by a suspension specialist , never looked back. I don’t do any hard core off road work , but I do tow a large boat and sometimes carry heavy loads in the Ute. The vehicle has done nearly 90 k since the ARB suspension was fitted and its the same since the day it was fitted. I would not even consider using any other suspension kit after having this in my car.
3rd broken strut – 2 in lift on a Colorado was nice at first then I broke 2 front struts at different times. Possibly a bad batch they said and they were replaced under warranty. Now I have broken a 3rd with almost no off-roading. Enough is enough, going for a new brand.... Very disappointing and a waste of money. Show details

2008 Hilux 2inch lift OME shocks and springs – Best springs and shockers I've ever installed on the 2008 Hilux, steel bull bar. They have been punished over the years, tows tonnes and just won't quit. Gibb road, finke track ...thought I'd break them .no leaks and bushes are fine . Tens of Thousands of kms later. The rear constant load 400kgs springs are the best towing upgrade ever. Thanks ARB regency. Show details
Go anywhere jimny – I had a OME 40mm lift kit on my Jimny now for 6mths and it is the best up grade I've made because it's always working just did a 2000 km trip to Sydney with 3hrs pouring rain and strong wind approaching and departing Sydney and the Jimny was stable and able through all conditions. Absolutely pleased I made the right choice. I have complete praise for OME Suspension and ARB. Show details
Upgrade for towing on and off-road – OME Nitrocharger Sports Suspension with 2” lift on my 2019 Mazda BT-50 XTR. It has totally changed the ride and towing. Corrugated dirt roads are like driving down the highway now and I’m leaving all my mates behind. Even they are saying it’s like riding in a limo compared to their upgrades. The 2” lift gives me a perfectly level tow with the… Read more
outback caravan, combined with the suspension has made it the most comfortable and enjoyable towing experience I’ve had in the 40+ years I’ve been doing it. Thanks UV4X4 Ipswich for the recommendation and fitting of the OME Suspension. Even the Mazda dealership was amazed at the improvements it’s made to my vehicle.

Suspension sagged at 30,000 km – These were fitted by ARB and after 30,000 km these have sagged but as they are 3 years old no warranty. Been off road twice for a day at a time. When we spoke to the rep extremely arrogant. Will be replacing with an other product due to poor quality. Do not waste your money.
Faulty installation or faulty front strut – Landcruiser 200 upgrade to OME suspension in 2016. Since then, front drivers strut wears (rubs on boot, suggesting the strut is being torqued in some way) then leaks, and has to be replaced. I get 30000 kilometers per strut. ARB don't seem to have records of the original installation, nor are they able to resolve the problem. Very disappointing. Show details
ARB front suspension – Not happy, one trip across Simpson the springs sagged and shockers seem to loose dampening. These springs have only done 10,000km on new Colorada. Took back to dealer and they said they cant test. Show details

Kia sorento – Poor ride, my shocks just allowed the car to float like a boat, springs seems ok, but after spending what I did I'm pretty annoyed, things won't even pass a rwc Show details
Nothing but problems – Fitted OME to my brand new 79 Land Cruiser. Had the rear stone guards replaced twice. First model very cheap plastic. Second upgrade thin tin. When replacing them at ARB I was told. That the shockers had failed after less than 58,000 KM. Very expensive and not worth the price Show details
Poor customer service and lack of product backup – I had a BP 51 suspension fit on my Ford Ranger PX2 did 50k km on it before I upgraded to a PX3. Pulled the suspension off to fit it to the new ute, noticed that both the sock guards was broken. After a quick Google search it was apparent that this was a common problem on the BP 51 socks on the back. I dropped in to the local ARB shop in Coopers… Read more
plains with a sample of the broken guard. I was told that it is now replaced with a new generation of guard, but was not in stock. I was told it could be ordered in and should be available in two weeks, I paid in full for the order and went on my way.
After 4 weeks I check in as I haven't heard anything. I was told that they did call and left a message 2 weeks earlier. Which I had no record of. The "guards" was pulled out the back, just for me to notice it was not the parts I needed. The sales man said he will get it sorted and call me back.
I got the call the next day, saying it is ready for pickup.
I had to get a buddy to pick it up for me as I was busy. When he arrived he was told that the guards was not paid for and additional payment was needed.
In conclusion: I am very disappointed that. *ARB wasn't prepared to replace the guards, especially knowing that it is a common problem. And That on the top of the line premium product ! * The parts was not in stock (common problem) shouldn't it be in stock ? * I had a sample there, and still the wrong parts was ordered. * And I was asked to paid again for a part that was pay in full the day I ordered it. Never leaves a good taste in the mouth if you have to pay for a sales mistakes.
No warranty give on springs – Had a set of Old man emu on 92 hilux and replaced them with a new set after 20 odd years. The new set is terrible and has sagged on left hand side. Just over 3 years 25000km. Replaced it at my own cost. Now new spring 4 months old has sagged. The hilux has never been off road. Abr have inspected and are suggesting I pull the spring out myself to… Read more
see if the housing has caused it to sag. Arb your springs are faulty and are dangerous. Never again will I buy a product from arb.
Weak leafs – I had OME installed at arb 2mths ago, i told them I wanted the 300kg continual weight in back. Since having them I have put 1/2 a meter of sand and gravel in the back 4 times, like I did with hilux 2017 original suspension. But now it bottoms out on rubber stoppers. the front has sagged already and I’m sure it was lower then factory set up even though I installed a 2” lift. I’m very unhappy with its load capabilities and I’m about to take it back Monday coming to ask for a please explain. I don’t rate this gear
GU patrol – Best mod ive done so far stopped wagon from twitching on ruts at high speed also much nicer handling of the road I would recommend them to anyone who wants to improve the drivability of their patrol Show details
old man emu shocks suck – Second time I am experiencing shock OME failure. Shock piston rod broke at attachment point. First on my LR Discovery and now on my LR Defender. Absolutely unacceptable. Stay away from OME ...... you're better off with cheap Gabriels
OME = squeaky pig – I had a recommended Toyota associate ([name removed]) recommend a 2" OME lift for my 2015 hilux, which at the time had 1000miles on it. Immediately It squeaks and squeals like a scared pig. It also sagged in the front within 4 months. Front now sits slightly lower than factory height (20mm). Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Leaf springs squeaking and clunking – I had a suspension upgrade done on my new Bt50 for an around Oz trip towing a van. 600kg OME leaf springs were fitted on the rear. Initially the thing sat up SO high but it has now settled to a reasonable height. Sagged? However after only 8000km they have developed the most terrible squeaks and clunks. specialist in Perth. I am in the North West now and took it to the local ARB as they are agents for OME and they tell me the bushes sound like the problem. This shouldn't happen after so few K's. Will update once they have pulled it all to bits.
Beware of these – I had OME fitted to my brand new 2016 Ford Ranger PXII in 2016 to go across the Simpson Desert. Right from the word go I was disappointed with the ride. Not as good as the genuine Ford ride. After about 6 months they started squeaking. This was so bad that anyone could hear me coming from 500m away. them. Only a few weeks later they were squeaking as bad as ever. Returned and again they said something about a bad batch of bushes and fixed them. Again within a few weeks, they were squeaking again. Early 2019 just out of Lightning Ridge, I went over a small bridge and the front RH shock strut broke causing huge damage to everything on that side of the car. The spring dislodged and damaged everything. Got towed to Lightning Ridge and to ARB's credit they sent a replacement shock which a local mechanic fitted, all at their cost. When I got back to forBrisbane ARB fitted two new front shocks but forgot to install the spacers. Had to take it back for them to do that. Now 4 months later there is a loud bang coming from the front RH side every time I go over a bump. I believe in being nice to people but at the end of the day enough is enough. I will take my Ford to a qualified suspension mechanic and have the OME replaced or fixed. But I will not be going back to ARB.
Top quality – Ran an Old Man Emu suspension kit in a 1991 Toyota Landcruiser for 10 years and never had an issue with any of it. Have sold the car and it is most likely still the same suspension now as well. Comfortable and handles great on and off road. Show details
Terrible OME suspension on a 2008 toyota 4runner – As soon as 6 months the truck became bouncy, harder to control and so on. Random lean etc. the OME springs and matching OME shocks were both under 15k miles each when issues started- i went crazy thinking it was other things. All my lower/upper control arms bushings were new prior. What now... sucks for me. OME/ ARB offer no help and almost don't… Read more

ARB - OMU Suspension – Overall - it got the job done, but needed further work (at my cost) after about 12 mths. But we got there in the end. I had new ARB OME suspension fitted to my 2010 Triton in 2016, over $2k to install. If there were a 3.5 rating between OK & Good I would probably sit there. After fitting all good for 12 mths or so but then it sagged at the… Read more
rear, when I took it back to ARB they said they could sort it with 2 extra spring leaves. When I asked how much they were it was around $40 ish per leaf. I thought I wish they had installed them in the first place - but these things happen. I thought for under a hundred bucks in parts lets do it and be done with it. Well had them fitted & got a bill for around $350 ish parts plus labour. My $40 a leaf grew pretty quick. That's where I sit with we got there in the end phrase. To be honest as I've spent about $10k at ARB I thought they might sort it at there cost. Not the case - they mentioned things like canopy weights etc etc - but this was all there when originally fitted.
But post sorting that out at my cost I've travelled across the Simpson Desert & up through Cape York ( very tough on suspension) it hasn't missed a beat a rating of 4 good would be appropriate. I just assumed if I put ARB gear on I'm putting on the best / trusted gear. Its good gear , but when replacing it or upgrading my next vehicle I'll be doing a bit more research. Would I refit ARB / OME again - probably not, I think you could do better & do it once.
Poor Customer Support – Bought my second set of OME - had one defective hardware kit with missing middle washer and defective lock nut.Asked for warranty replacement - no reply to three requests for help to ARB (parent organization) and retailer said they will not cover the parts. Makes me wonder what happens when I need some real support - $700 in shocks they won't replace $10 hardware kit.
Does the job – Got the plus 500kg springs, probably 300kg would gave been adequate as it has lifted the back up a bit too much however it rides exceptionaly well with little body roll especially when loaded up with my tray back camper or farm tools. Previous spring set were inferior to OME and were replaced due to broken leaves
Ome shocks don't last – I have experienced failures of two sets of OME shocks one set on my Kimberly camper in the middle of the Gibb river road. The bottom eye detached at the weld. The other set on my land cruiser. Leaking oil after less than 100k kilometres original Toyota shocks on the front have done 300+k kilometres with no issues. As a professional mechanical… Read more
engineer my view is that ARB does not have the detailed engineering knowledge and quality control systems needed to build a high quality product. If they did these types of failures would not occur.
Not worth doing – Put a two inch lift in our pathfinder recommended by Warrnambool off road . After six months complained about it and they just didn’t want to know and now the back shockies have gone and is so dangerous to drive. Rocks and rolls and if you hit a hole it throws you around. Dangerous. After doing 30,000.00. So disappointed with the suspension and the after care.
I have old man emu shocks and springs in form of 1 inch lift kit on my brand new Mitsubishi triton e – Suspension shouldn’t make noise when you get in and out of a brand new car. It shouldn’t make noise on a sealed road or every time you hit a bump or go over a speed hump. I can jump up and down on my tailgate and everyone within 50m turns around to look at what’s making the noise. I will never purchase old man emu products again. October 30th… Read more
2018 Update: So noisy
I put old man emu suspension on my brand new Triton Exceed, the noise was unbelievable. I returned to where they were fitted to be told the bushes weren’t greased during installation. After being greased they were quiet for about 30 minutes. I went to another ARB dealer who re-greased them for a price of $240. Within 30 km the noise started again. I went back to the same ARB and he re did them for free. Within 50km they were noisy again. Along with some other issues my Triton had that Mitsubishi wouldn’t rectify I sold it with less than 15,000 k’s on it for a loss of $15,000.
Would provide video if site allowed.
Rubbish – Just brought 2 inch lift hilux springs and they inverted as soon as i put weight on them and sat 25mm lower then my 5 year old efs springs, absolutely rubbish. Will never touch ome again.
Old Man Emu suspension – We had a lift fitted (old man emu) 2 years ago.. The suspension has already sagged to one side... Seriously, not worth the money/investment on the ARB product.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - BUSHES GONE AFTER 2 YEARS – OME kit fitted to brand new vehicle before we picked up from the Dealer. Spent $12K on ARB toys (lift kit, canopy, tub liner, cargo mat, bull bar, spot lights, trade rack, awning.....) Suspension knocking after 2 years - ARB want $400 to repair. plus..... all 6 locks on the canopy broken after 18 months..... another $180 (plus fitting). ARB IS A JOKE..... RUBBISH QUALITY - WILL NEVER FIT THIS JUNK TO OUR VEHICLES AGAIN.
