Arlec MTH2

Fire Danger ! – We had this heater for just on three years, as a supplement to our wood fire, (so not heavy use) and it seemed to work fine. Lightweight, quiet, and sufficient warmth. However, we left it on low overnight, and this morning we woke to clouds of smoke and it was on fire. Fortunately we caught it in time before any damage was done to our house.

Very good performance – This heater performs very well. We use it instead of our reverse cycle a/c in a 65m2 living room. Keeps it 19 to 20 degrees. It is nice and quite and that is the main reason for using it instead of a/c. Very happy with it. will buy and other one if this one give up.

Woeful – Sleek design, looks good, remote controlled feature is impressive, unfortunately that's where the positives end. Set the temperature to 24 on high when the room temperature was at 16, waited over 3 hours & to my dismay found the current room temperature was still at 16 degrees. This was a very small room & the arlec mth2 heater had no effect whatsoever. If this is the norm with this product I would avoid at all cost.

Not very good – Well, the main things that attracted me to this heater was the digital timer and the remote. It was also the "silent running" advertised on the box. However, it is far from silent. It makes a constant hum, and the 'ticking' of heating metal when first turned on. Would not recommend this model. The only positive is it is fast to heat. Using the thermostat mode is a little annoying as it clicks rather loudly on and off. It still smells like a heaters first use on the 8th use when turned on, i wouldnt consider leaving it on im my room without me in it (ie use the timer) Slim, Fast to heat moderate sized bedroom. Noisey, still makes first use smell with each use.
useless – a b s o l u t e l y u s e l e s s constantly switching itself off as it thinks the temp of the room has reached max temp of 27, thermostat reads temp around heater. will not heat your room. useless. -1 out of 5
