These solid 304 grade stainless steel tap sets took a lot of searching and back-and-forthing to get, but they were worth it.
WELS/Watermark rated, and made by Ewing in Queensland, the quality looks to be excellent. They are even smooth and polished on the inside and all the internal workings. They are large and heavy, with a high arched spout, consistent brushed stainless steel finish and individual ceramic quarter turn hot and cold taps (not a mixer). The basin sets have contrariwise turning on/off, which I think is better suited to a lever...tap design rather than these traditional cross handles (would love to see them available with lever handles). Arto messed up the spindles for them the first time around, but quickly rectified the error and were great to deal with. The plumber also had a fiddly time getting the handles to line up properly, and also had to use his own washers in the end. Most solid stainless steel tapware has the tube-like 'pipe and pins' look to it, but this series of taps is cast, so it has graceful, traditional lines. All the joins and transitions are smooth too, which makes them easy to keep clean. I bought them because I was looking for something that was solid stainless steel, wasn't plated and would wear and age well, but these are also great to touch and look at. Very happy, thanks, Ewing, Arto & Reece!
