AstralPool E Series Salt Chlorinator Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have added the minerals to our pool and turned the chlorinated down to 0. How long do I wait to turn the chlorinator back on and what level (number) should I restart it and for how long? I thought increasing the salt level would increase chlorine but the manual says to restart at level 8?
Can you replace the battery when it starts losing time or do you have to replace the whole thing?
Hi, Yes the timer circuit components can be replaced. Aquamech Services in Brisbane can repair it for you.
Hi Feorious, Yes your unit can be repaired for the timer issue. If you are in warranty please contact us to lodge a warranty claim. You can call 1300 763 021, Option 3 to speak with one of the team.

How to turn off salt chlorinator cell but still have the pump running? There's no option to turn it off on the control panel like other salt chlorinator's have.
You can adjust chlorine production by adjusting settings at the control box. 1 been the lowest setting. 8 is maximum setting for chlorine production. At level 1, you won't see any chlorine gas as the pool water flows out of your chlorinator outlet. Select highest setting, level 8, that is maximum chlorine production. You will see lots of chlorine gas been produced as the pool water flows through the chlorinator outlet. Summer time usually go for high settings, 7 or 8 because the sun destroys chlorine. Winter usually select lower chlorine production. Check your control box manual.
hi there. Is an astral e35 a reliable purchase, been quoted $1900 for supply and install
Hi Norrie, You probably can tell from my review that I do not have AstralPool chlorinators in great regard. In fact, no AstralPool products at all (I also had the pump failing prematurely). And the problem goes well beyond poor reliability. They'll charge you almost the full price of the chlorinator for a replacement mother board, which is no more than an electronic circuit, just to force you to dump the whole thing and buy a new one. I also find $1,900 excessive. Unless you are in a remote area, you should be able to find better and cheaper elsewhere. You can also look online if you can do the installation yourself.
Thanks very much for your reply Joao, Looks like i wont be going ahead with the astral.
Hi Norrie, Astral E series chlorinators are reliable generally speaking. Like all chlorinators the Astral E series chlorinators will require servicing every 3-7 years depending on pool size, enviromental conditions and end user care. I have repaired E series chloriantors that are as old as 13 years and they are still going today.
Not sure how old my unit is, but turned off for a year then went to turn back on and didn't work. Opened up the unit to find a blown glass Fuse and a Veristor that had split in half and was extremely darkened. Quick trip to jaycar for a total for $5, then 10 minutes at home with a soldering iron, good as new. Pays to check these things
Kindly advise me as to WHY the e25 is just a one star rating as a pool cleaner!
Thats a good question, ours is 5 years old now and has worked flawlessly for that time, apart from a flickering backlight and the replacement of the salt cell today (after 5 years) ... I give it 5 Stars.
