Absolute disgrace – I have this laptop since 3 years. On paper it should be amazing: A10 processor, dedicated graphics, plenty of ram. fact is, graphics are just Not supported anymore by radeon, you can't even update the drivers because you will not find a working one without messing with very technical settings on BIOS (and yet it will install a working driver, but… Read more

without full functionality). It's crap to the point it cannot run properly world of warcraft, and i don't mean the last one - Wow classic!20 years old game! - Continuous stuttering, mouse freezing, heating issues. Oh, and i replaced the HDD with a SSD and still it's not handling properly very old stuff. Stay away from that crap!

Great laptop! – Upgraded from my old HP, can't be happy enough. Very easy to navigate and pretty fast CPU. Doesn't get too warm/hot at all, like some HP laptops. Battery life is quite good, maybe about 6 hours after a full charged. Impressive High Definition screen with clear and powerful speakers. Will recommended to anyone!  Show details

Perfect Laptop for decent price! – We have had this Asus laptop for over a year now and not even a single instance of it being failing. The price we paid was $735 at Centrecom and the specs were: AMD A10 APU 12 GB DDR3 RAM 2 GB Radeon R7 GPU 1 TB HDD Everything works perfectly fine. I am now going to replace the HDD with SSD to make it even faster, just like my desktop( Ryzen 5 1600)  Show details

Worst computer EVER! – 1. Super slow to load all windows and apps, eg. email, internet, Netflix, Spotify, data files etc. In fact, whilst awaiting Spotify to load, go and get a cup of coffee and maybe, just maybe, it will be up and running by the time the kettle is boiled. More often, though, the computer will have frozen and a restart (and a second cup of coffee will… Read more

be required) will be necessary. 2. Internet connections drop out at least twice a day, again requiring a restart. Nothing else seems to work. 3. Email programs fail to recognise the server/username/password (you name it) at least 3 times a day. Only solution, again, is the slowest ever restart. Sometimes it takes 3 restarts for the email to start working correctly. 4. Failure to recognise a previously used external hotspot so that, oftentimes, I am unable to connect to the internet at all, even when connected via cable to my phone. 5. Deserves 0 stars.

With three other computers in this house, none of which suffer the above mentioned problems, I'm ready to throw this one out the window. And NEVER buy an Asus ever again.

Long lasting, but poor performance – I picked mine up at jb on sale, thankfully. It has lasted longer than any other previous laptop, but it can't cope with any reasonable use of memory etc. Useless for even the most basic gaming. Restarts at random which may be due to settings but is incredibly annoying. Last Asus I will ever buy. Avoid. Show details

The worst laptop on the market – I've never seen such a slow useless piece of hardware. After a few months of usage (which it performed reasonably well) it dipped in quality quick within about 3-4 months the average battery life span would be about just under 2 hours. Within about 5-6 I started noticing an incredible amount slowdown. After roughly a little over a year of… Read more

having it, it has become literally useless I cannot Load a single internet page. And that's despite me waiting about 15 minutes for chrome to boot up. This laptop is literally the worst trying to make it through school was the worst experience. I could go on forever about how bad this laptop is but I've pretty much covered the main points. If you want a good quality, splurge an extra couple hundred on a higher priced laptop but if you can't I still have no doubt that a laptop cheaper than this would still outperform it. Avoid this laptop at all cost unless you want to smash your laptop over desk because the Asus F555 will certainly oblige to that action.

Horrible. Don’t buy! – So I bought this laptop 2 years ago, so it's a bit old but not heaps old and since the day I got it I have absolutely hated it. It's slow, it rarely ever connects to wifi for me and I know a lot of people have also experienced this. It also cannot handle having multiple programs on at once. Arrrgggghhhh – This laptop is a crud bucket. After three months of little use, the modem in it failed. I tried to fix it but no luck. My IT expert mate said this laptop a piece of rubbish. To rub salt into my wound, the computer is incredibly slow. Typing is a slow laborious task and I’d be up burning the midnight candle on both ends finishing a few sentences. A… Read more

geriatric snail can move faster than this computers typing curser. A short email to my girlfriend overseas, is an arduous task of battling a constantly frozen and non responsive computer.

Computer can’t update. Won’t shut down due to updating, that takes an eternity. It struggles to connect to a wifi source. It can’t open multiple windows. Shuts down a lot.

Microsoft was updated multiple times and I still have problems. Not only is it lethargic, it is not user friendly. The battery life is short. Even after recharging it for an eternity, the laptop still dies early. Poor design. Zero quality. Can’t even sell at pawn shop, because they are smart enough to know how bad it is.

Very disappointing – I bought this laptop ASUS F555B to replace an ageing HP G6, one of the main attractions was the 512Gb SSD and I thought that with an AMD A9 and 8 Gb ram and Radeon graphics it should be OK, but it is slow and the graphics is terrible. I use my HP for photo editing and the graphics on the ASUS make photo editing useless, the colours are so far off.No more ASUS for me.  Show details

Worst laptop I've owned – We brought our ASUS F555Y about 18 months ago. It is by far the slowest, most unreliable machine I've seen. Start up, well let's just say waiting for the grass to grow would be faster. Used to undertake automatic updates, Decided that was to hard so it gave up. Try to update manually but it can't do that either. To sum up, if a paperweight you want then buy this brand.  Show details

Don't waste your money – This is our second F555B, the first one we took back after a few months from purchase when the mouse pad stopped working, it is slow and both laptops have had rattling speakers. notably special, and definitely does not have the increased battery life - even when just utilising internet browser and standard MS photo tool.

wrote to Asus with zero response a little while ago.

Disappointing given it has reasonable specs (Core i5, 8gb with 1TB).

Definitely will update to another brand next.

Definitely not worth the money – The RRP is around $1000 for an extra $200 you could get a better laptop. The screen resolution is poor (still usable), the boot up time is slow, not to mention its still slow once logged in. The track pad is the biggest problem. It sometimes works. Considering the pc is supposed to have a dedicated GPU.. it isnt worth the money. It struggles to play games even on very low settings. To play games, the pc needs to be plugged in to get any decent performance.

Not bad for a base model i7 – This laptop like any other base model still running a mechanical hard drive is slow... After upgrading from the installed 1TB to a 256GB SSD the performance sky rocketed, as to be expected. This laptop is not bad its a cheap and nasty design but you get what you pay for and mechanical hard drives will always be a bottleneck.  Show details

Works well now after an initial problem – Bought on special for AU$480. The special came with a 4gig upgrade. Had laptop set up by a professional, AU$100. Worked well for about a month then would not connect to my WiFi. Took it to a repair man and he fixed the problem for AU$30. Have had no problems since. Takes about 1 minute to start up. Charges as it should. Does me just fine.  Show details

Never Buy this – I have had 2 in the last 2 months and both have been quite useless - or DOA. The Keyboards simply don't work for more than a few weeks or so. Warranty is useless because they will not honour it – I bought this laptop May 2016 & within 3 months it stopped working. It is absolute rubbish – First of all - do not be conned by the 8gb ram or 1TB HDD. It is slow as a quadcore and start up takes like 7-10 minutes. felt like I had a windows XP all over again. 'oh its the model's problem'. After months of complaints, finally got a refund - but after months of suffering

I paid almost a grand AUD for it. However, a friend of mine had the same model, swapped the HDD to an SSD and all good. It is fine now. So the problem is probably the HDD. but if you change it from HDD to SSD, you forfeit your right to obtain a refund.

It lasted just til it was out of warranty – I bought this computer because my old one had water through it and I knew it wouldn't last forever. Disappointing – I've had this laptop for 9 months and it has been sent to the repair centre 3 times for different issues each time. out and stop connecting when I had full or near-full bars. I discounted this as a router problem but it persisted.

Then after 3 weeks of this, another problem arose: it started freezing randomly and not responding when all I had open was a word document. I managed to open task manager and the problem was that my disk usage was at 100%. My laptop became unusable at this point, it was freezing more and more, I tried a factory reset but it just froze on 8% and it was well and truly inoperable.

It went to the service centre for the third time and I have just received it back. They replaced the wifi card, the hard drive (again) and the screen backing.

This notebook gets 2 stars because when it is working it is excellent, easy to use and comfortable but after multiple repairs I have lost confidence in its reliability. Asus has refused my extended warranty request and is taking weeks to get back to me on my replacement/credit request, shuffling me between the retailer, service centre and the manufacturer. Any replacement will have the warranty carried over from the original purchase (2 months left). I am incredibly disappointed with the service I have received, buyer beware.

I am posting this review everywhere I can to see if I can get a response.

Piece of crap – I loved ASUS until I bought a brand new one F555U i5 windows 10 just under $1000 a year ago. After this I would never own another one it is a piece of crap. Slow to load, freezes while loading, takes about 6 minutes from the time you turn to power button on to load in. I wish I still have my previous ASUS with windows 7 on it it was way faster and less trouble.
