Not worth it - worst touchpad ever – I had to format it as soon as I purchased, I got the blue crashing screen many times. Then I discovered that the touchpad was and still is the worst you could possibly have. It gets stuck all the time, so basically this is a desktop pc and not a laptop. Stay away! Show details
Average for gaming bad for everything else – It's not too bad for gaming, tho the FPS could play up on some games. However, if you are going to use it for meetings or quick access to files on the SSD, you are bound to get very disappointed. The bluetooth is terrible! I have never had so many problems with any other wireless device before! Do not bother buying wireless/bluetooth headphones.… Read more
Huge problem with the microphone! You will end up using the cable at the end. If you manage to fix the issue, all you will get at the end is distorting sound or no sound when you play games. This issue nearly got me to return the laptop for a refund! The Wi-Fi pings with 400-600 every now and then just out of the blue, very unstable, no matter if you use 2.4 or 5 Ghz modem. Massive wireless issues. The TUF comes with SSD right - well get ready to wait few seconds when you open a folder that you have not had opened for a while... SSD is not suppose to do that right? The overall feeling - yeah it looks cool, the GTX 1650TI has a high benchmark but well it does not really live to the expectations. When you try to render videos - it could take a while... However, Ryzen 7 4800H seems to hold pretty well.
Repeated Blue Screen of Death when playing games – I bough this computed and would not recommend. I cannot play any games without the computer crashing and getting blue screen of death. I have tried everything: update drivers, re-installed windows, ran all scans, tweaked setting - nothing works.

Perfect mid-range Gaming Laptop! – I was looking for a good mid-range gaming laptop and this did not disappoint. I wanted a capable gaming Laptop as a portable option for my Desktop Gaming. I purchased a Asus Branded Laptop, as my previous Asus Laptop (N61JQ) lasted a very long time (about 6 years). I went into my local Harvey Norman store, with two choices : this or a Acer Nitro… Read more
3. Staff member at harvey norman, recommended this laptop, as it had a superior processor (Ryzen 7 3750H) to the Acer.
Got home and was astounded by the quality of the materials. Sat laptop down and let it charge for about a hour before turning on for the first time.
This Laptop is beautiful! looks fantastic with the backlit keyboard. I really love the Asus "armoury crate" software, which lets you customize fan speed, GPU settings and Backlit keyboard functions. Processor wise, this is fantastic, booting from SSD is super quick.
Ryzen 7 is a fantastic processor, coming from a AMD A9 in my previous laptop; the difference is incredible. No "thinking" time. Laptop Runs nice and cool, i will also buy a cooling pad to help it stay cool when gaming though. I also love the 5G compatible wifi card as well, surfing and downloading from the internet is super quick.
My only disappointment, would be the battery life. on "battery save" settings, i am still only getting about 2hrs non plugged in, even whilst just surfing the internet. I assume this would drop significantly when gaming without being plugged in.
All in all , a fantastic laptop at a great price, for the hardware you get inside.
Pros: Beautiful well made laptop, backlit keyboard, extremely fast processor, more than capable laptop Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card. Runs cool and quiet.
Cons: Short battery life unplugged, but is to be expected from a gaming laptop.
Outstanding for speed and processing -there could be some design/hardward improvements – I've owned heaps of laptops (including quite a few gaming laptops across many brands Asus, Dell, Lenovo to name a few. The ASUS performs exceptionally. Really quick and create capacity but theres some annoying hardware issues -if they were fixed this laptop would be perfection for me. Firstly their must be a problem with the hinge in the screen… Read more · 1
- its come loose in the corner for me and there now a big gaping hole in the screen. It's really annoying as this laptop is relatively new - i collect laptops and update them the way people do phones - my 11 year old laptops have NEVER done this. in fact i've never had a laptop do this -its really frustrating as im now scared to move the screen and for an expensive laptop this does not spell quality to me. Also I know im old school but would love the USB port to be on the right hand side so the mouse wire is not always in my way -yes i know im old school but still i cant be the only one? a SD card port would also come in handy in this day and age where more and more people have dashcam or are buddying photographers. with that all said -for speed and performance -the most important charecteristics in laptops i use - ive found this Asus second to none - i would highly recommend it to others! (Asus if you could fix those could of things this would be the perfect laptop!)
Great laptop for the price – After the power socket broke in my previous laptop I was concerned about buying a new one as it needed to be as good or better. I used to buy ASUS all the time for my laptops, but after some issues around 10 years ago I had avoided them. Looking at the stats of this machine made me reconsider my opinion and after checking some reviews I thought… Read more
I'd give it a shot.
I have to say it has exceeded my expectations.
I don't play games that really stress my system, but I am a developer and work with Unity and Unreal and I have to say the response within them is much better than my older laptop. Most gaming is relegated to WoW, so not an overall beast, but it is able to have quite decent settings and I haven't seen any lag from game rendering. I have noticed an issue with network lag when running on battery though, but this maybe just due to how the battery options are currently set.
My only gripe I'd have is performing upgrades. The version I purchased had a 256GB SSD and no HDD, but my old laptop had a 1TB SSD and 2TB SSHD. Gone are the days where easy access doors for upgrades are included in the base design and instead I have to remove the entire base of the laptop to get access to upgrading the SSD, HDD and/or RAM. I will likely upgrade the RAM on this system too, but that'll be in the future. Once the devices were switched out though, the laptop booted straight back into Windows with my old OS installation and the smaller SSD is now in my old laptop. All in all worked great.
TL;DR - great laptop performance for the price point, but upgrading is a bit of a pain.

Great gaming laptop but pricey – I have bought this about a few months ago and I am very satisfied with it. The keyboard is very easy to use and play games with, the 144hz display has helped me with many fps and tps games. And the best thing is that it's very fast, I did not once have to deal with lag and I can easily record and stream my favourite games with no problem at all.… Read more
This laptop is simply one of the best gaming laptops I have used so far. although it is very pricey. I am excited to see what Asus develops in the future!
Really nice gaming computer – This is the perfect affordable laptop for playing online games and doesn’t skip a beat when you’re chatting with friends during the game. It’s fast and smooth, with amazing graphics. Highly recommended. Show details
Awesome!!! – I was unsure since I am use to Tower and Monior, but it runs smoothly (+ better then my tower!!) Great visuals and amazing battery :) will be using more Asus computers in the future :]
ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT – Purchased the laptop to replace my existing one for home & games that had a terminal failure. Compared to similar laptops it was very competitively priced. The robust heavier build with the Ryzen 5 appearing (haven't put any serious tasks to it yet) to perform well. The 512 GB SSD, the 1Tb HDD and the extra DVD Burner provide all the storage I… Read more
need. The 15.6" screen, graphics card, extra RAM and the 144Hz refresh rate look great. No real opinion on the keyboard changing colors during use as long as it functions I'm happy. Other than the smaller screen size, it should replace its predecessor quite well.
This was the laptop I've always been looking for!! – This laptop is perfect for what I need. It looks great and it works very smoothly. Awesome for gaming, which was my main objective, no problems at all. The features I love about it are: the rainbow LED keyboard, big storage, impressive speed and performance with all you do, clear visual display and graphics. Show details

ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT – I originally bought it for my son for a few specific games. It is not a gaming computer, however, it could work for his games very well. He is happy with that. Also, the price was good! Thanks Show details
Great looking laptop – Just purchased it’s a great laptop with a lot of control over the laptops features. From access to the RGB keyboards light to how loud and powerful the fan is. Show details
ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT Laptop- Ryzen 7 with 512GB SSD 15.6" Screen – Purchased the laptop to replace my existing one for work, home & games. It was at a discounted price when purchased. Compared to similar laptops for that price , it had the robust heavier build, graphics card, extra RAM & the 144Hz refresh rate screen . Ryzen 7 performs well with the SSD memory & the 15.6" screen is a good size for my use.… Read more
Keyboard is comfortable to use, not quite sure about the changing keyboard colors during use. The weakness of this laptop is the battery, it is not lasting very long at all, about 2 hours. Overall the laptop will meet my computer needs.
True review – I bought this gaming laptop for my son, so he could play more advanced games, such as Fortnight, with quick speed & high FPS. Within 3 days the operating system lost connection with the hard drive. A replacement was issued by the retailer. The battery on both the original and the replacement is short when gaming online. Overall the laptop works well, in line with it's specifications. Show details
Solid dual purpose laptop – I was looking for an upgrade from my smaller laptop that could help me with work but also handle some games. I chose this because the specs seemed to indicate that it could do both. After picking it up, it was easy to setup but only had one issue where any key I pushed was not picked up but restarting it helped. Overall, relatively quick to… Read more
compile basic code snippets and can run games with not too much loss in graphic quality. So I'm pretty happy with the price I paid for these specs and the way it handles.
A good solid laptop – Its still early days yet but purchased this laptop from Harvey Norman a few days ago and it has been a great machine to set up. Often (yes I have done a lot of new machine setups) setting up a new Laptop can be a pain in the butt. Finding drivers, updating and removing all the bloatware that often comes along for the ride. This has been simple,… Read more
easy and no hassle. In fact I sat there twiddling my thumbs wondering what was wrong till I realised I was swearing and cursing the machine. Decided to crank up World of Tanks as a test and had a great time playing on the laptop. Handled it like a champ
Bloody rippa – My laptop doesn’t everything I need, I bought it for film studies and love it, only thing that’s annoying is needs longer battery life other than that would 8/10 reckon Show details
Good specs & style for the price. Easy decision! – Upgrading from a 7.5yr old HP Pavilion 15.6 Laptop. Been using this new laptop for business/ regular home use and it does everything I want it to do and more! And for the price I got it for, it was a very easy decision. It turns on in 15 seconds. The keyboard is backlit (can also change brightness & colour) and screen is very clear. And the sleek… Read more
design is the cherry on top! Everything I've been using it for the last couple weeks have been so quick and smooth. Very happy with this purchase. A PLUS PLUS !
Fantastic allrounder laptop! – I brought this laptop to get back into gaming and also incase of uni studies in future. The Tuff is really sturdy but can be cumbersome at times if you are not used to heavy gaming laptops or are going to be limited with weight. It performs very well being that its a Ryzen 7 with 16GB ram and a GTX1650 4Gb graphics card. It can get hot at times if… Read more
you are gaming or video/game rendering so I highly recommend using some form of laptop cooler underneath. I also dislike how there is no ports on the right hand side of the laptop as it severely limits the amount of ports available on the machine. However, this makes it so that right handed gamers can game easier (what about the left handers?). Overall, very solid and efficient machine for the price.

Great balance for gaming and uni – I used this laptop for gaming as well as coding for uni, I like the high specs along with the sleek keyboard however I found that the arrow keys were a bit small compared to the rest of the keyboard
The perfect choice for that money – I needed both a gaming laptop and a laptop for school. The "must-have" conditions were I7 processor (or Razor 7) and 16Gb DRAM. I got fast laptop for a reasonable price. Purchased in December 2020 at Harvey Norman for $1,439.00. Show details
Amazing laptop, great for all uses – I bought this laptop for general use and my occasional gaming, and I can only say that it has gone above and beyond and has encouraged me to game more and branch out as the laptop can handle more than most regular laptops. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable laptop that can do it all. Show details
Fast and clean – I purchased this for my son for education purposes and to use while at home for gaming purposes. This is a fast and high quality laptop for both uses at a reasonable price! Show details
Perfect and reliable gaming laptop – It's totally amazing with full of performance. I have nothing bad to say about this laptop. It handled my online multiplayer games brilliantly, it’s even been put through the pressures of several Sims marathons, and it hasn’t even flinched. I bought 2 of them for my family. Show details

Amazing for the price – Just purchased this laptop from Harvey Norman and have had nothing but great experiences. The speed, graphics and even the way it looks just amaze me for how much i payed. Great entry level gaming laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a gaming/streaming laptop. Show details
Good Value – We got this gaming laptop for my boy today as he needed a laptop for school but also to meet his developing gaming 'needs'. He is absolutely delighted so far. Show details
Unreal Laptop for an unreal price – I paid $1200 for an entry level gaming laptop and I do not regret it one bit. The laptop is unbelievably quick and looks crisp. I looked at the other laptop's at places like Harvey Norman, JB Hifi such the HP, Acer and Apple, none of these products even compare to the specs on this laptop for the price. The specs destroy the competition. Show details
well priced and value for money – This is the best gaming laptop for the price I’ve ever used. The keyboard is amazing and the specs are very good as it has room for another 16 GB.I have used ASUS laptop 5 years ago which was a wonderful one with excellent specs with 16 GB but got stolen.Getting the same brand again with good specs that too meant for gaming is very satisfying. It would be great if an option with 32 GB was available to buy. Show details
Excellent Replacement Laptop – I got this laptop as a replacement when my last one broke just before Christmas. So far its working perfectly for what I need. strobing through the colours on the keyboard. After searching a few forums I found the program to download to change it. It would be much better if the computer came pre installed with this. So far I'm very happy with the look, feel and performance of this laptop.
