4,3 or 2 thread. Can gather top & sew on to flat in one operation. Can feed ribbon & do many things - still learning after a year - many different feet & attachments. Can sew very fast. Good DVD showing tricks & methods. A real treasure chest. Very minor issues - Cover is just soft plastic which fell apart. Handle is behind threads. Noise at top speed makes my mechanic husband flinch but it works well. Difficult to see if the foot is up or down, fouled up some things early on before I got into the habit of checking.
