NO TIMER. We've had the pizza maker for about a year now. It's well made, looks good and cooks a fairly decent pizza. The downside, I believe, is that it has no timer. It's all well and good to proclaim that it only takes five minutes to cook a pizza, but what a huge manufacturing blunder, for them not to have included a timer. Because of this, we've occasionally burnt the odd pizza for not being mindful of the clock. I deducted one star because of that significant oversight.
What a mess – "Heated my first pizza. Followed instructions. Bottom not cooked cheese stuck to everything and what a pain to clean as it not a non stick. Don't buy I've gone back to my KMart maker as at least if you still the cheese you can wipe it off

No 5-Minute Pizzas but Still Pretty Good – This oven cannot cook a pizza in less than 5 minutes as claimed in the advertising. It's more like 8 minutes, so I doubt that the temperature is reaching the advertised 400 degrees Celsius. It's still better than a high-end conventional oven though, and unlike all of the gas burner pizza ovens, the heat is distributed fairly evenly. You don't need to keep turning the pizza around.
I have had no problems with the ceramic baking stone cracking by following the instructions for its care.
The unit is a bit of a pain to clean if juices run over the edge of the stone into the bottom element compartment, but that's only a problem if you care about keeping it spotless. Access to the compartment for cleaning is as easy as lifting the stone out.
Build quality is good. Operation is simple and the controls work well.
I paid $170 which is good value for money. The current advertised price of $350 is not good value for money.
