Purchased a white one in December as a family Christmas present. Took a little bit of getting used to but was well received for new years party. Not the easiest thing to clean especially after making ice-cream (always hard to get all the fatty residue completely clean). When we were setting it up for another party I noticed a big crack in the… Read more

handle (the silver cap ended up falling off revealing it was a pathetically thin bit of plastic. Also the locking mechanisms (x3) all showed signs of cracking, to the point little bits were falling off. As I only had the eftpos receipt (which they should have stapled to my main receipt but cest la vie), had the usual "we can't do anything without the proper receipt" line from the lady at the store. This violates Australian Consumer Law, as you can use credit card receipt as proof of purchase, and I was in their loyalty club so they had my receipt anyway. When i offered to bring up the clause in the law, and pointed out that the vessel cracking and leaking DOES consitute a major failuer, the lady begrudgenly refunded my money. Given the retailer "claims" its worth $1000 but "on special for $499", its interesting that google search shows it with a normal price of "upto $499"). Given some of the other reviews have mentioned similar issues with the quality of the product, they really should consider a recall...

I purchased the Baccarat Slushie Maker in November and have only used it a handful of times, always following the instructions carefully. Recently, when filling the barrel, the machine immediately began leaking from underneath. After checking the seal and reinstalling the barrel correctly, it continued to leak straight away. On inspection, the… Read more

locking tabs at the back of the barrel had broken.

After researching the issue, I found many other customers reporting the exact same fault, including replacement barrels failing in the same way. This points to a design problem rather than isolated misuse.

For a product at this price point, this level of durability is unacceptable. Being offered another barrel and a small voucher does not address the underlying issue.

Very disappointing experience overall.

A good machine. Not as self cleaning as I would like- when you make icecream you really need to take it apart to wash properly. But excellent customer service. I lost a small part from my machine and Mark arranged to send me a new one for free Show details

Follow-up  · Broke after a month. Full refund though without any issues

I bought a Baccarat The SlushiePro Ice Cream & Slushie Machine in Cream for$499 online from House on 7 November 2025 as a Christmas present. It was shipped out on 10 November and received on 14 November 2025. The machine looks nice , and operates quietly but it is not fit for purpose. The cleaning on this appliance is troublesome..The plastic… Read more

drum is easy to clean and so is the plastic churning arm but the rubber seals at the back of the unit are hard to clean and hard to access from all sides potentially leaving ingredients in the seals allowing for nasty bacteria to fester and grow. This appliance was designed with aesthetic design in mind rather than functionality and practicality.

As for functionality, it was faulty from its 3rd use. It was used 2 times to make an ice cream and a slushie (cleaned after every use). The slushie was made really well but the ice cream was too soft . The ice cream came out like slush the settings are not very well described so a lot of guesswork needs to take place regarding texture and hardness of the ice cream but I thought next time a harder setting would rectify the problem. I never got to try an ice cream again because on the machines third use within a 24 hour period as I was making cocktails it started leaking its contents to the drip tray and then burst like a dam and spilled its contents through the drip tray all over the bench.

It was installed properly and was still locked into its correct operating position when it decided to spontaneously empty in contents . It was properly filled according to the instructions and specifications using room temperature /cold liquids as specified in the directions that came with the machine.. There was no spillage putting ingredients into machine as a spout jug was used to pour in the liquid so there was no reason why the contents would drip/ pour out from the bottom 3 minutes into it’s third use.

I did all the trouble shooting and took it apart and cleaned it as instructed to no avail. It leaks worse than a colander. It is faulty by design and manufacturer.

I am not happy with this product at all and would not recommend it to anyone who wants a quality product that is backed by great customer service because this product has neither of these qualities.

This appliance is a massive expensive paperweight attracting drama at every opportunity especially when dealing with non existent customer service departments that are also not fit for purpose based on my experience to date.

You cannot contact the company on the phone only by email or an inquiry form on the House website. Then you wait and wait for a response from customer service .

When I finally heard back from customer service 10 days after initially getting in touch with them and sending through the requested documentation and evidence of fault to action my return / refund I got a generic response written by someone named Chris who could not even be bothered to insert my name in the greeting of the pre- filled form letter/ email that I was sent .

The message requested me to send him information that I already provided to the company 10 days earlier demonstrating that he did not even read or look at what I already sent to him via the company including the attachments.

I am stuck still waiting again but because of this behaviour of getting no clear answer or response and sheer incompetence of customer service I went ahead and contacted Fair trading to deal with this company as a product should work longer than a day and customer service should be easily contactable with clear responses and time frames that are adhered to by all staff..

This machine is not fit for purpose and the overall design is flawed that leaves many areas of the appliance that can fail or lead to food contamination.

I did everything that I needed to do to make refund / return easy..I filled in the form sent copy of receipt and pictures of machine outlining the issue and stating disappointment in product and requested an immediate full refund as yet I have not received any tangible response to remedy the situation.

I would not even pay $50 for this garbage and would rate it zero ✰ if I could. Save your money and your time don’t buy this appliance as you will regret buying it. Don’t buy any product from House that you may need to rely on customer service s you will be sent in circles

If you google search this product the company says it achieved 4.4 / 5 ✰ based on 178 reviews but after looking into the reviews they actually incorporated every single product that baccarat makes so the company is misleading consumers .,I could not find 1 review on the baccarat website regarding this actual product.

Since 30/12 baccarat removed this machine from its list of products . It is pictured on the specialty appliances tab but when you clink on the tab nothing is shown not even in the sold out sections. I went through all 897 products Baccarat sells to customers and it is no where to be found. The company has no customer service as when you click on customer service for this product on the baccarat website it directs you to house and or robin’s kitchen which are the same company going by two different names.

When I rang both of these stores in my city they told me to send an email online as they do not deal with after sale faults and refunds . Now their website no longer has this product even listed. There is no information about this appliance anywhere except on a Facebook page. I never ever came across a product that leaves no footprint on any internet platform and no information where to buy no reviews nothing. It is like it does not exist.

Update: after doing some research and finding the abn number for the parent company global retail brands i managed to find a functional contact number for their head office in Melbourne. After contacting them i and having a serious conversation I got a phone number for customer support to actually talk to a person who would deal with issue straight away. Their number is 1300 136 936. ( valid as of 7/1/26) By the end of the call a return ticket was ordered to return this rubbish appliance and I was advised that once received I would get a full refund. Fingers crossed it will be a smooth experience but going by recent events I do not believe anything from this company until I see the funds in my account All I can say is that they permanently lost a loyal customer I will never ever shop in any store that is associated with GRB ever again because they like customers money but after sale support is the worst I ever experienced in any company I ever encountered

Bought 10 days ago selected this brand since it looked stylish, was considered a good brand even though I don't own anything else of it. I was having trouble getting the soft serve frozen enough to put into a cone and dish so it would not melt into puddle it forms but melts just after. Tried several recipes with no luck including a professional… Read more

brand of Softserve mix. I found the temp settings of L01 to L06 ambiguous - it doesn't say which is the colder - beats around the Bush, I joined a SM group to ask L06 is the coldest setting. On joining the group I discovered a few others are unable to get the machine cold enough to make a perfect soft serve. Plus the Clear liquid barrel is cracking on some machines. Baccarat believe it's a batch of machines that have the defect. The machine may be able to make the drinks it says it can but it can't make soft serve, It comes with a 12 month warranty. IMO its Not fit for purpose discussing this with baccarat they said there option is to replace not refund, Not an option for me because I don't want to be left with a machine that is defective after the 12 month warranty is finished.
