Cancelled my flight and 16 months on will not refund me – Bamboo airways cancelled my flight in October 2023. It is now 16 months later, and I am still out of pocket over $2000 AUD. They rarely respond to emails, and refuse to give any indication of when I will receive my refund other than my booking is with the finance team. I am sick of the run around, and am starting to believe they have stolen my money. They will cancel your flight and steal your money.

September 25, 2024, despite all five of my family’s tickets being correctly registered as “Tran, Nam Van,” matching our U.S. passports, Bamboo Airways still created an issue, claiming the names were incorrect and demanding a fine for all five tickets. They attempted to delay us so we would miss our flight, pressuring us to pay the fine to board on time. As you can see, many Bamboo Airways passengers have been scammed in this way. I hope the government will act justly and scrutinize these deceptive tactics used by Bamboo Airways. I am truly ashamed of the airline’s unethical practices.

Bamboo bankrupt, stay away – Booked flights were cancelled 1 month out, 6 months and local solicitors involved to get refunds, now head office in Saigon now closed, good luck trying to get any refunds.

has been sat on. It is not good enough. The fact I had to submit my refund claim is ridiculous. I have tried to email but they go unanswered. I have tried to call, but got disconnected. Terrible experience.

DODGY AIRLINE – Booked and paid on 16th October for flights to Europe, 3 days later we are told by our travel agent that they have cancelled all flights. 3 months later we are still waiting for return of our money. Travel agent has tried, Bamboo will not answer phones or emails. We are now having to fight this thru our bank to get funds returned to our Credit Card. Fraudulent!! Be careful! – The airlines allowed passengers to book their flights and collected the money even they'd had plans to "restructure the company". My flight was cancelled and I applied for a refund since November 2023 and still received no response as of 10 Jan 2024. You're better getting choosing other airlines. Show details

lounge pass for Vietnam to melb but it was processed as melb to vietnam. During checkin in melb, ground staff did not tell us about the pass. resulting us not using it- as we are expecting to use from Viet to Melb. 2) in Vietnam, we rang twice and were given conflicting instruction regarding our request to buy seats at front role so our baby will not kick the seats in front. 2nd attempt Phone staff advised us to buy a row of seat at the front which we did. But during check in from Vietnam, they inform us it was last role next to toilet. Ground staff can’t do anything for us. Also told us we did not lounge wen we asked. So no lounge (waited from 7pm till midnight to fly) and at next to toilet with our baby from vietnam to melb. Ground staff did not offer anything nor appear emphatic 3) we contacted customer service via email, they acknowledge their staff poor training, resulting miss informing about the seats. Told us the board pass from melb to Vietnam has a code indicating lounge pass. The code does not mean anything to untrained eye, we should have ask the ground staff (on thing we did not know) and they did not refund the lounge. Regarding seat issue, no refund but offer if we fly with them again, wil let us choose seat. (Unlikely will fly with them again). Overall if you fly after booking without any changes it’s ok. But if you start changing things with them, etc dates and seat request, you might get a surprise due to their inconsistent staff service.

AU office, who then refused any responsibility and told me to contact the call centre in VN. I sent countless emails to their vietnam call centre and even asked my friend in Vietnam to come to their office in HCM city but they still refused to transfer back to my bank account. Each time I sent an email to them, they responded with the exact same message as if they didn't read my email. I can tell you I am not the first person to lose refund money with Bamboo. Avoid them at all cost.

Never again – My wedding on 5/8 so I booked for my dad a return ticket from 30/7 to 14/8 and then they move the fly 30/7 to 13/8 . How ridiculous my dad will fly 13/8 and back on 14/8. Are they normal thinking?

did not receive any communication until the last day of my return. For all the inconvenience and additional expenses incurred on the essentials, we were offered a paltry compensation of $60. It was more an insult than a compensation and hence, I did not accept the compensation. Apparently, that is their policy. As per Montreal convention, which Vietnam is part of, airlines are required to compensate customers for baggage delays with up to $1700 USD. They are misleading people stating that their company policy allows them to compensate up to a maximum of $30 only. They turned our holiday into a nightmare as we had to shop for essentials including basic clothes for three of us, which included a 3 year old toddler. We spent over $1700 in essentials and $60 does not even remotely make up for it. Imagine spending time shopping in an alien country with a toddler when we should have been enjoying our holiday. Not just money but I Iost precious time because of this airlines. Never will I ever fly with Bamboo Airways.

Best flying experience we had. Would fly always – We flew HCMC to Sydney. Flight was ontime. Very clean and new Flight experience. Food was immediately served after take-off. Legroom was better than other airlines we have flew with. My son asked additional food which was served in no time. Entertainment had a lot of choices. We felt like flying in a full service airline. dealing with this customer service team.

Over the span of 3 weeks, my calls and emails trying to get support from Bamboo Airways Customer Service team are still hitting dead end, no conclusion and very little response but zero value added from them. They give no support and no five-star service like they boast everywhere on social media. Not to mention, their website and mobile app is so incompetent and lack of many basic functions, they work like they were built in the 90s.

I'm writing this review to warn you what you should expect from Bamboo Airways service if you purchase ticket through their website/ mobile app and have any problems, they will not be able to assist you even if you have a Vietnamese native speaker friend to help you talk to them.

On Feb 9th my partner made a booking on Bamboo Airways website for flight (route Sydney-Ho Chi Minh city), the payment was successful, money was charged to his account but he didn't receive any booking confirmation or e-ticket. We waited to the next day to call their representative office in Footscray, Melbourne, he tried to explain to the person on the phone what happened, she did not understand, frustrating he passed on to me thinking she would understand better if talking to a Vietnamese native speaker. After I explained to her, she said they don't have any authority to deal with this and told me I had to contact Vietnamese Headquarter myself to get refund and make another booking.

10days later, they cancelled that booking without notice.

After contacting our credit card company- American Express and multiple emails to Bamboo headquarter in Vietnam, we got the refund back from Bamboo but it was a different amount to what had been charged. Again, we had to contact AmEx to get the variance amount refunded. All the headache from this alone is just ridiculous. But thanks to Amex for making this a little easier for us.

We tried to make booking again with Bamboo, however, they had raised the ticket price, in details we had already booked 2 different business-class flights for up-coming months and this is just another flight we needed. Not surprised to me that they not only refused to match the original price which they cancelled without notice, they also ignored all my emails and no official apology or compensation was given by them.

Needless to say, after all this, I'm going to cancel all the flights with Bamboo and never ever again use their service.
